I feel that this brand of early 2000s weirdness was very formative for the weird fandom culture we have today, and I mean that in a good way! I really loved the Kratt brothers and the wacky, wholesome, and cozy silliness, especially with the animated portions! I grew to love animals because of this show (and other programs with similar themes!) What I also love about this video is that just recently, Zoboomafoo's granddaughter was born!

Hey who knows? Maybe in a couple of years from now if PBS Kids ever wants to bring back Zoboomafoo in some form, they could have Zoboo’s granddaughter be the new main character alongside Chris and Martin:3 here’s how the 1st episode would go: the 1st episode would focus on Chris and Martin rediscovering and restoring the long forgotten Animal Junction, as well as the long lost Creature Club featured all the way back in Kratt’s Creatures and merging the 2 Kraft brother landmarks into 1, they would see a new “leaping lemur” in the woods who later is revealed to be Zoboomafoo’s granddaughter, and just like her grandfather Zoboo in the OG series: she’d start by leaping through the window entrance into Animal Junctio, leap across the area for a bit before getting a snack from the signature snack machine, munching away does the little burp excuse me combo before spinning while saying her name (or whatever she would be named in the final show:^ would do you think would be a good name for her?:3) after that she’d discover an animal inside of AJ and receive that classic Zoboomafoo animal info dump for the episode, afterwards she would find Zoboo’s old Zobooland characters all crumbled, cracked and in less than ideal shape so she would repair them all even making a few new friends for them in the process:> near the end of the episode Chris and Martin would find that Zoboo’s spirit now resides within AJ (yes the brothers would be fully aware of Zoboo’s death in this instance just like in real life) Zoboo is glad to see her granddaughter with the 2 people he was proud to call his best friends, even having a bit of fun with her before she’d wave goodbye to him for the day to return to her former family and looking forward to whenever she’d be able to return to Animal Junction.
@smolbean3273 Жыл бұрын
To further flesh out a few of my ideas 1st of all: I figured there could be 2 ways that PBS Kids could still fit Zoboo into the show without having to worry about finding a replacement for Jovian, either option A: Zoboo only appears in the form of memories his granddaughter had when he was still alive earlier in her life (these would be done with the classic Zoboo puppet’s similar to the OG series versions) or option B: Zoboo’s spirit now exists within Animal Junction where he can still witness all the Mongatsika animals that would roam around it’s corners (btw if they went this route I could imagine them doing a running gag where Zoboo would want to eat something but he can’t because he’s a spirit so he possesses either Chris or Martin for a bit to feast on his desired food:3) and or lastly option C: similar to option B but instead of him existing as a ghost in Animal Junction his spirit went inside his old Zobooland figure fully uniting him with all his friends from the otherside.
@smolbean3273 Жыл бұрын
Side note: options A or B would reuse some of the old footage of Zoboo leaping around AJ.

Despite the fact that lemurs don’t talk, The voice and puppet brought on a whole personality that we all totally believed in as kids, and still do as adults. Its like the little voice you imagine your dog has, but more tangible, And it made us all feel like he was such a happy little animal. A wholesome character we all look back on fondly, both in fictional puppet form, and the actual animal himself. We’ll be telling our grandkids about zaboomafoo how ours told us about bozo the clown and such. A “Mr. Rodgers” of sorts, for our generation.

ZABOOMAFOO!!!!! This how was my childhood! While there are other PBS Kids shows that I remember fondly, Zaboomafoo is and always shall be the one that helped shape my love for animals. Sure, I grew up loving animal and nature documentaries, but it was this show that really helped me enjoy them even more. I remember being at a zoo back when I lived in Pennsylvania and they had Cocuerel's sifaka lemurs. However, that day was also the day I learned of Jovian's death, as they had a small memorial sign talking about him. Broke my heart when I read it, as he had, despite being an animal, been one of my childhood heroes. Honestly, he still is, and I shall always look back on my memories of his show Zaboomafoo with fondness.

Zoboomafoo... Oh man, where do I start? See, this was, among other things, my JAM when I was a kid. As a wildlife fan since I was really young, there were two particular group of wildlife experts I looked up to, which turned into three with the debut of Nigel Marven. They were Steve Irwin, my late role model, and the Kratt Brothers. And Zoboo's two season long show was what cemented the two brothers in my mind. I loved all the creatures featured on the show, I thought Zoboo was a great little stand-in for the audience, and I was fascinated by the differing art styles, especially the Zobooland claymation segments. It still holds a place in my heart, and it's never left me after all these years. It does my heart good to know that there are those who still remember that special time where a Sifaka lemur could wow kids with his antics learning about all the world's creatures.

It wasnt until over A DECADE LATER when I happened to stumble across their animated show, Wild Kratts, did it occur to me that they were, in fact, not twins. If I had never learned about Wild Kratts, I think I would have lived my whole life never realizing. Also Wild Kratts is a beautifully animated and hilarious show. This show was mine and my mom's favorite on tv when I was growing up! We made bat houses one day watching it and my mom and I had an idea that if they made an episode about an misunderstood animals. Including bats, skunks, and I don't remember the others but the point was to teach about how every animal and person has a purpose in their particular ecosystem. Thanks for the memories!

Man this opened a big memory Zoboomafoo was a show that really helped me to learn things and that theme song just got impregnated into my mind even to this day and even the closet song and who could be that animal (obviously the latin american version because of course I'm from Paraguay)...man i really love this show without a doubt thanks Discovery Kids for introducing me to it. And the whole closet gag never failed to make me laugh. 17:16 😢😢😢 man i totally forgot it was on 2014 but i remembered finding about it man it was rough at least he has a great legacy and a great family. Thanks for this video Jordan (I know you won't be seeing this because of how late I put this but still) this made me feel like a kid again.

Thank you very much for taking me back to my childhood, These videos just bring such nice wholesome vibes deep inside. I dont find many people remembering or speaking about some of these gems like Zoboomafoo. Wishbone was another good one.

I still remember that Binturongs smell like popcorn from this show. This show as well as many other PBS programs (which I hope you’ll cover) really opened my curiosity about the world for the first time. I’m forever grateful…

Zoboomafoo was my favorite show when I was 2-5 years old! I used to watch it every night before bedtime and I somehow still remember the words to all the songs. My favorite memory of the show is the segments with Jackie (Samantha Tolkacz) starting with The Kratt Brothers saying “Duck!” when a bird that’s not a duck flies by Animal Junction.

I loved Zaboomafoo and my kids love wild Kratts. I think it’s cool that the brothers I grew up watching are still educating and entertaining kids today. Zaboomafoo inspired a big portion of my childhood and it evokes such strong nostalgia for me. RIP Jovian.

I loved this show as a kid. Still have fond memories of tuning in to PBS to watch it. I would love to see you do a video about Wild Krattz. My daughter loves that show and seeing how to generations love seeing the Kratt brothers talk about animals is it would be great to see you make a video about it.

Something that has lived rent free in my mind it was one episode about deers (i think) and they showed how they dig the snow looking for food, so the brothers did the same one found hot chocolate and the other a protein bar 😂 imagine how disappointed i was when i found out it was fake
