Jessi, I have been barbering for 5 yrs and just started doing women’s hair again and your videos have helped me so much! Learning things that have come along since I’ve been out of the game as well as perfecting techniques I haven’t done in a while. Wanted to thank you! You’re work is gorgeous. Also, when you comb the first root toner through the hair, that seems to soften the line, but how do you make sure it doesn't make the rest of the hair too dark or dilute the power of the other toners for the mid-shaft/ends, considering the hair is already wet and you combed a darker toner through it?

Can you do a video on a dark level hair (3/2) taking them light. I have so many Hispanic clientele wanting to go lighter and I always end up with brassy tones
@test1test2196 жыл бұрын
Norma Tiny This is a fantastic request. You are right. No matter what hair dresser I go to and they confirm they did tone, I still end up with an orange hue in my hair. They always f it up cause thy think my hair won’t lift and it ALWAYS ends up lifting too much despite my warnings. Then they are scrambling to tone it down but it still ends up looking “hot” where what I want is a really ash colour.

Your work is so beautiful and natural! I really appreciate how well you explain everything. How do you break down the pricing? Do you charge for the foils, the balayage on the dropped pieces, the root smudge, the mid-shaft toner and the ends toner all separately? I feel like my clients will get upset if I charge for every little step but there’s time, product and expertise involved in each extra step that creates such a gorgeous/seamless end result. Thanks!

@Jessi Gish What makes you decide on what technique you are going to use? Does the client bring you a picture or do you picture in your head what you want to see on them? I used to just do what they asked and was not always pleased with the outcome. Long story short just started doing hair again and I want to go about it differently. What makes you say.. Ok you are going to be a sombre, you are going to have baby lights with a shadow root etc etc...

this is very close too what I want to achieve, I think my natural roots are close to hers now, but way dull and mousy but this dark. I want 1 shade lighter so if this was a 6 root I guess I should do a 7 and then 8-9 for mid length to ends? do I even need to tone my ends? is that just to condition since I'm using powder and 40vol which are known to damage hair? my ends are not in bad condition, so I'm not sure

I don't mean this in a rude way whatsoever - truly just feel confused... How did you keep her ends so bright blonde, almost like a level 10, after using levels 7 & 8 to tone, as well mushing it through with the 6 on her roots? I feel like any time I tone my blondes down with shadesEQ using a level 7 or even 8 they come way darker than this. 😕
@kingsleyharte29957 жыл бұрын
Dana Ardovino I completely agree! I feel like even when I put a 9 on with clear gloss, it seems darker. I also only have it on 2-5 mins. I love shades EQ but I don’t know where all these you tubers are getting these super blondes with it.
@dschmidt11627 жыл бұрын
I know she’s mentioned she puts olaplex #2 on the end before she root smudges so maybe that helps it from going too dark??

@Liveeachmoment906 жыл бұрын
In the front here you are doing horizontal sections, rather than at other times you have a diagonal section for hairline aka money piece? It seems you just painted the hairline higher with the very front of the horizontal sections, but aren't you worried about that bleeding?
@Liveeachmoment906 жыл бұрын
So just to clarify, you are using both 40 volume and 20 volume within each foil, placing 40 on the darker hair and then 20 volume on lighter hair, then closing the foil? How do you avoid the pieces with 20 volume over processing due to being placed right next to 40 volume bleach that could swell?

@justjessiiii7 жыл бұрын
lizette gutierrez if you watch the full video I mentioned I don't highlight all the way up! I "feather" up because I do want the blonde higher, just not up to the root. The 6N at the bowl isn't meant to cover the highlights, it's to blend the highlights. I do it on every client even if their highlights are to the root!
