Worst part was how his parents and teachers put everything on him as if HE was the problem and only HE could change it. I'm glad he's doing better but it sucks the suffering it took to get recognition for all of the victims.

I agree Phil! I totally cried too--this broke my heart and has affected me profoundly that I really hope change can come and make a positive out of a negative situation! I am so glad this boys life turned out for the better for him but there are still kids out there that need help and the schools and parents and students need to stand up for a change and to stop bullying when we can!!! And not to ignore the signs or pass it off as kids are mean just accept it--that's total B.S.! Thanks for your comment.

While watching Bully last night I was casually checking google maps to see how easy it would be for me to drive to the towns where this happened so I could chat with the people who did the bullying or allowed it to happen. Then I realized the doc is 4 years old. Still think a visit to the 'educators' featured in the film might be fun, and help other kids.

Stay strong and KNOW that you're better than these people who find it nessisary to oick on others to make them feel better about themselves. They are the pathetic individuals, not you. I have to say that I give Alex a lot of due credit for working through the emotional ramifications of the bullying. I was bullied the exact way he was in the video clip whenever I had to ride on the school bus; however it took me many more years and other personal struggles before I could become as ok with myself as he is in this video.

I was bullied in high school, but it wasn't called bullying. I took the violent route, and after months of being jumped, and beat up, I retaliated, with my brother at my side. Now, bullying is not accepted by me. When I hear or see a bully acting like he's a tough guy, I intervene. My grandfather taught me something very important, he said: "If you ever think you're better than somebody else, for any reason - you aren't." Now, I look at everyone the same. We all have struggles (usually money), and we all have our good times, but no one ever deserves to be treated like they're less than absolutely incredible. I seen this young man had a steeler's windbreaker on in a picture of him. Is he around Pittsburgh????

Yea, those bullies never would have stood a chance with me there. I cannot believe how everyone allowed it to happen - not one brave soul on that bus which made me even sadder and angrier when I saw the movie. I always protected the kids being picked on at school and the bullies would revert their anger and frustration at me which was ok - I had no problem fighting them - at least it was an even fight and they got their beatings. Most grew out of it by the time High School came around because there were MUCH BIGGER people there. The word bully is synonymous with coward.

I was worried about watching this movie because I knew it would be very sad and hard to see images of innocent kids being abused by their own classmates they grew up with but I knew it was a movie that should DEFINITELY!!! BE WATCHED BY ALL PEOPLE! I am glad Alex's life became a good one which he can feel confident and himself without fear of attack. I hope those bullies were made to pay for what they did to this boy! With graffiti clean-up, community work and possibly even a charge of assault! I was really sad to see that the Principal in this movie was so nonchalant about the abuse and passed it off as kids will be kids! Awful women! I hope she is no longer in that role at that school and all these kids should be going through Bully awareness and programs to stop it at all costs! The results can be tragic as we saw in the movie with the death of a young 11 and 17 year old boy-heartbreaking!
@lorindagrant748410 жыл бұрын
It's hard to sum up how this movie made me feel in one paragraph-so I'm adding to it! It made me very emotional to see such awful treatment of a young boy and to see that other kids and teens are committing suicide to escape the torture they are experiencing--utterly heartbreaking and IT HAS TO CHANGE! The school system failed these children big time and are never called out to answer for their lack of response or care of these kids--I feel these schools are also directly responsible for bullying! Its been going on for far too long and too many years all around the world! It HAS to CHANGE for the better! And for it to change we as people need to be involved and stand up for those who are experiencing bullying or attacks--such as that BUS DRIVER should have STOPPED the bus and addressed the situation immediately and not ignored what was happening to this boy! She is just as much to blame for what happened to this poor kid!!

The most likely reason Alex Libby got bullied is that his family treated him like shit. Watch the movie and you will see this. The family unit is the one where we first learn confidence and self worth, alex been the family scapegoat developed a victim personality and this drew negativity into his life at school. How you view yourself starts at home!! You view yourself as a worthless piece of shit you get treated like one. People reflect back to you your own energy.

Black kids in suburbia get bullied! I lived in both inner city and surbubs and I'm Black. Bullying in the inner city is different and not crucial as those in the suburbs. That's why kids in the suburbs are killing themselves and start massacres and shit in the schools, meanwhile inner city kids tough it out because they have other struggles besides bullying, when kids in the suburbs are shelter and isolated, hiding themselves from bullies. Kids in the inner city are raised to be tough!

There is a fine line, I do not agree at all with being assaulted, with stabbing, punching, or things of the sort. But name calling, reserved seating, etc. Minor bullying in other words, I believe is needed for a person to learn how to OVERCOME. How to take the negativity, and let it slide off of them, or even use it to grow. Listen to music, to people talking about their 'haters'. Let it feed you, let it drive you. Don't just be a victim, but be something better.
