More time to tell stories with more episodes leads to us understanding the characters better, more of the town’s backstory, diving deeper into the mythology of the whole area along with the backstories of all the creatures/entities that live there… The people that complain about the pacing and/or reveals should really just start watching one of the From cliff notes videos that are all over KZbin and leave the big boy shows to those that can appreciate them… I just hope that the creative team and writing staff don’t dumb it down for the complainers… To all the people who can’t wait, I hear that Scooby Doo cartoons have reveals EVERY episode!

If S4 is released in March 2026, then fortunately the hiatus would be much shorter than 2 years, 16 months to be precise. The aging of the BIW isn't something we love to see. He has been the same since Victor was a child and he has become older and they have to deal with that, but if we could choose and it was possible, we would like him to remain the same throughout the series... why would someone love to see him getting older after he's been the same during decades and maybe centuries?

Your guess on the filming is semi-correct, but a little more nuanced. Weather wise, spring follows winter. This follows in the show as well with summer to fall to winter from S01 to S03. They'll film exterior shots and on location in the Halifax area in the Spring, do a quick check to see if any secondary pick up shots need to be done and leave interiors and secondary locations (the Dungeon, etc) for summer. Post production and VFX will spread into fall and we'll see a trailer by September or October most likely.
