Rockets don't have a good ballistic arc in this game, it'll have to be something with an elevated platform shooting fast rockets that go in a straight line.

Eh, You could ki nda mimic it if you have a rocket with only a single fin, and it 'has' to aim at least slightly upwards in general, if not higher up, using an APNG so they curve more calmly because of only turning enough to try to garentee impact rather then ...or using some sort of lua script

Oh my, having back at this already. I should warn you that the Polaris is currently plagued by a critical issue right now. The missile was changed out for a deadlier version, but it wasn't sized properly and suffers collision damage the instant it is released, taking out the entire unit. As I wrote this, a corrected version was submitted and will be picked up. Will have to wait for the next patch for it to be implemented, but until then I'd like you to know that the Polaris will not be working as intended at all.

That aside, you mentioned missiles being nerfed heavily. While this is true for narrow angle frag warheads which are subject to a hefty scaling penalty, most of the damage loss is coming from metal being 5 AC tougher than before as well as proper AP application for frags. I won't lie, true missiles do need some attention. Thankfully a member of the community is working with Nick (the main dev) in an official capacity to help with coding, and part of that means making some of his mods official elements of the game.

Small-gauge frag is still *frighteningly* effective in ashes thanks to less stacking armour, despite the low-angle nerf; also note that pure aps HE ( I use a HP head ) is extremely good - it might be too good with the way vehicles get thrown around by explosive damage at the moment, but some of the factions throw it at you a lot also. I use 300mm/322mm a lot, but I don't think a round every 3s counts as "rapid fire". The problem with missiles is they still grind the game to a halt in large numbers :/ We were looking at the LH HQ vehicle a couple of hours ago, that might also stand some improvement - I think you may have looked at it once & been a bit disappointed. One other issue that might annoy you - when the number of wheels ( possibly just the number of power wheels ) changes, like one is repaired, the vehicle stops dead. This is new post 2.0something.

Yeah, but I would love to see him equip those drones with simple lasers. Why? Because they are super OP, with relatively high AP, quite awesome DPS and low ammo consumption. The only problem of the lasers is that their range is low, but on drones they kick ass, and Lath will need ass kicking if he wants to finish this well.

You should build a very small yet heavily protected build that uses cable to latch onto the enemy, then other surrounding enemies will engage their allies resulting in friendly fire. The build doesn’t have to be impossible to kill, just very, VERY, *VERY*.... Hard to kill.

Yeah, sorta like a parasite! Just a real small build with metal armor and maybe shields. And that’s it, just the winch and cable, armor, and shields possibly. I don’t know how it could be impossible or possible, just thought it was a cool idea. A lot of my fav ones revolve around using the cables(I feel like they’re very underused, also, “Get over here!”).

they should add hacking devices and firewalls, allowing you to remotely capture enemy ships whose software defenses arent as good as their hardware, this process would take time and its effectiveness would be base on the amount of firewalls, mainframes and general size of the ship. firewalls would require power and general processing power to run, as would hacking devices. the power of a hacking device doesent stack and is based on free general processing power and battery power. this might add a less op way to capture ships, if propperly balanced, and would mean that the enemy can capture your ships too, so youd have to be sure to keep your strongest designs safe from hacking, or they may turn against you

A couple of reconmendations for the campaign: One easy one not so much 1: Install the mod that allows you to go over volume limit, but don't actually build over the limit. That way you can take the big vehicles and not need to worry about them not being able to repair themselves back to full hp 2: Never build more than a couple of any given vehicle. Run a campaign were you are constantly testing new things and new looks.

You need some good static turrets to hold back the gypsies and then you need a decent tank or maybe an APC. Perhaps a small advanced cannon with a double or quad medium power missile launcher. 25mm 500 600 rounds a minute and some decent missiles.

I love the idea of using static defenses to deal with the dustwind gypsies, its sounds like a really cool (and effective) strategy. I'm not sure about using only wooden craft, though. The harsh volume limit means that one of the best things about wood (building huge craft) disappears. I also want to see that new medium tank in action :)

Build a load of stationary turrets to protect your current area. The best strategy is secure what you have since there are so many enemies. Then I would start making offensive units. Also make the actual platforms themselves defensive systems.Seeing you use simple weapons more could be fun

If you think about in roll play standards, the drone is perfect! After all, you play as a simple scrapper/scavenger who only knows very minor amounts of mechanical and weapon technology. I’d actually like it a lot if you played this way with the character being on a learning curve not being able to create anything too complicated with the best things they’re capable of creating/modifying being salvaged vehicles that they retrofitted. Basically going back to the basics

Suggestion of mine: Perhaps use more simple weapons arranged in Orky ways and some very small Adv. Cannons too. Essentially using pistols in a tank fight, but it might be interesting.
