Great Video! Fun fact: Last center disconnect was on 96 Explorer. Then they moved to them to on demand 4WD (no 2wd setting-Like this fix!!!!!). 95-96 It was vacuum driven and and part of the axle- no hubs on the explorer but the same solenoid was used with the IWEs in the F150. Mine still works but I heard they had problems with it, so they moved away in 97, you can retrofit that axle and leave in 4 auto. The V8 explorers from then were always clutch based AWD. So no disconnect. My Lexus GS 350 (same as the IS sold today) is RWD based, thru the oil pan, but there is no CAD. It is a planetary transfer case and full time AWD system that is indestructible will never need service. The xfer case shares fluid with the trans. What could go bad on those, the passenger CV could get stuck in the oil pan housing. That could be worse than what you describe. They rarely fail but be careful if you get one of those in the shop!

OMG took my Aviator to ford for oil change and they mentioned a leak up by cv joint! Said they could fix under warranty 😀 only 3k left before warranty out.

Specifically for the engine type, does the motor mount section apply for the 2.3L? Or can I ignore that part in this video?

I have a 21 with 67k. Noticing small leak from that area. Not drain plug or pan, I’m pretty sure it’s the FADA. No codes or issues yet. Am I ok to just swap to the newly designed blue oring instead of changing everything and having to have it re-programmed by dealer?

If you were building a custom Continental MK2 would you choose a twin turbo 385 series big block or the new 7.3L Godzilla engine with a Supercharger?

U think Ford would have the explorer vehicle figured out by now like the crown Vic being it's the preferred Police vehicle
