Not everybody will be able to do the front splits in the first 5 minutes. However, if you don't have much left, you never tried PNF before, or you did the front splits before but lost them, it may work out in the first attempt. Do this routine up to 3 times per week. Anybody can achieve the front splits within 90 days, even beginners. You can stretch every day, but do lighter flexibility workouts, without isometric stretches on the other days. It's ok to feel a a bit sore the next day. But make sure you warm up well and don't get hurt. Don't bounce, don't swing, don't hyperventilate and don't cry!

When I was 16 I used to idolize Van Damme and learned to do the side splits between chairs. I'm now 39 and just started on the side splits routine and am not too far off achieving them. I've set my goal for 3 months. I think it's probably beneficial to start on the front splits routine then go directly onto the side splits. Really, that's only 16 minutes of your day and twice as beneficial. Can't wait to hit that full drop again :)

@@cassie1961 buy a thick plank of wood, cut out a perfect circle. Cut out the triangles, inside the wheel to make it lighter. Polish it a bit. Make a hole with witch you will mount it on your cart and whuala it's done.

Tips: 1. Instead of doing it 3 weeks a day do it everyday take this for an example how do you break a rubber band? Simple do it with full force and not stopping because you can't break a rubber band by just pulling it one at a time. 2. At the first exercise try doing it but on your knees first pull your (left or right) knee then slowly kneel and then apply more pressure. 3. If you do not run then do the exercise Afternoon or perform an exercise because doing it in the morning does not flex more because it still thinks its in rest. 4. I by personal experience had exactly 38 days till I had my Front Split by the time I got to 20 days I started no support (no use of chairs, table and hand) then I realised I am flexible in those 20 days I was stopping myself yeah it hurts a lot that's why I listen to music or playing so my focus would be in other not the pain plus I am Already In Pain I am Just Getting Something From It.

as a person who already has there splits i like to hold it for long periods of time and it’s really difficult. For some reason when I’m watching this though it isn’t so bad even though I’m holding it longer and doing things in my split idk what it is but i watch this video everyday to stretch and I’m pretty flexible so it’s gotta be doing something right

I literally yesterday I did it but then after 30 min I went back into it and I couldn't do it but I have to say I'm very impressed I have gone very far down but it's just that I don't know how to get into one

Just don't do this routine "every day" and warm up well. Only start if you can warm up well enough to start. For most people 3 times a week works best. Some can do this every day.

three months ago, i pulled my gluteal muscle while doing my splits. My dance auditions are tmr, I'm 2cm away from the ground.. I've been doing this routine and some gluteal stretches and it actually help!! thx a lot xx

Ive been dancing for two years and i got my splits in 3 weeks. This video WILL NOT get your splits in 5 minutes. Yes this is a great video for a stretch that you should every day but you will not get your splits in 5 minutes!! Its takes lots of time and discipline!! Your muscles do not get loose enough to do a split in five minutes for inexperienced or not flexible people. PLEASE DO NOT FORECE YOUR SELF DOWN!!!!! You can tear all kinds if muscles if you do!!!!And they take 4-5 months for then to heal! Trust me i know. Strech every day for 30 minutes to an hour everyone is capable of doing a split!

Had the same problem a long time ago. I started over a bit higher and went through the process again. One if you "need" to do your split for some reason in the meantime, you can still twist the back leg.

GREAT TO HEAR! Now make sure that IF you are sore the next day, take it easy and only do this routine if you feel like you can warm up properly. If you are too stiff the next day, do conventional stretches - (just static)

What stretch would be good for me. My front splits come and go and most of times it is the upper thigh of my back leg. My hamstrings and everything else lengthens but the upper thigh of back leg. Is it my hips or what? Any stretch ideas?

Lunges! any stretch and any exercises with lunges. Make sure you warm up with walking lunges and do lunge-stretches more often.

I think the average should be around 4 weeks from looking at all the comments on these 9 videos. It really depends how much you have left to start with.

Lara Nielsen I KNOW HOW TO GET THEM! i've been dancing for 14 years and have't taken dancing seriously till 2 years ago and still today. I could not do the splits at all but now i can! and it only took me a day!! here is the link just scroll down and there's a vid m.wikihow.com/Do-the-Splits-in-a-Week-or-Less HOPE THIS HELPS COZ IT DID FOR ME :D any questions or warm up tips feel free to ask. if it doesn't take a day for you, it might take a week idk everyone is different so it may take long or less depends
