@Jennifer Puhl I think we were about the same age. I can't believe Robert Lamm is 15 years older than me. I thought he was only 10 or less years older. He sure makes me want to have that kind of energy and health as he has now.

It reminds me of when Chicago wasn't afraid to take chances and explore some Jazz roots, which would mean that they're not afraid now. Play on.

This song has been "in the oven" for some 15 years or so as Robert Lamm shared this song title among others he was working on at the time (many of which arrived on his "Subtlety & Passion" solo cd) ~ One thing that strikes me during the chorus is the similar chord progression & rhythm/tempo here to "All The Years" (also written by RL) from Chicago's 1994 album "Stone Of Sisyphus"=> makes me want to sing THAT chorus too!

One of the real American rock bands. Fantastic professionals. If the young performers learned to play and sing as they would be more quality music.

Wait...you mean rapping is for people who have never bothered to learn to sing or play and instrument? Noooo...... :)
@tuckerlane79953 жыл бұрын
They're out there, they just aren't frontlined because the record companies like to show off what they think will sell. Talented people just don't have a chance, it's now a corporate industry.

Good for these guys !! So happy they've returned in such an exciting, relevant way ! How inspiring that most of these guys are in their 70's and can definitely show today's pop players really how it's done, even if their sound isn't everyone's cup of tea. I have loved Chicago since their beginnings ( I'm a young 50 ), and for them to sound so good now after going past David Foster, Cetera, and Champlin is a true testament to their resolve, and that sticking to your style and continually reinventing yourself is the key to lasting success and musical happiness. Congratulations to the "new" Chicago and this wonderful new album ! I'll be buying it !

Robert Lamm is an exceptionally talented songwriter. He's had so many favorite songs from the 60's & 70's and he still knows how to write hot songs to this day. I love this song. My favorite Chicago songs are mostly, Robert's songs. Love Walt's saxophone at the end. I said in another comment from another video that 2016 was a good year ...I really think 2014 was even better. Walt is still playing and I always loved watching him jam on the sax.

However the solo sounds like it was actually played on a soprano sax. Why use an alto sax in the video?

Robert Lamm piano playing sounds like the Black piano player in the 19 30 ' s Art Tatum during the Jazz and swing dancing era. Who was blind in one eye and could hardly see out of the other eye, but one hell of a piano player! I don't think I spelled his name right. But hearing Robert playing the keys that was who came to mind.

Been a fan since Transit Authority came out. also been in many cover bands doing many Chicago tunes on sax. That is a soprano sax in the beginning of the song and the endthat is heard Walt is playing an alto. in the video why? They should know better . Chicago is a musicians musician band they should not be lip or "play syncing" . Us guys that play know!
