I have had bi-lateral frozen shoulders since Dec. 20th. Today, Jan. 19, I have been doing the neck and shoulder exercises from your videos for the last four weeks. After waking up from a night's sleep I am so crippled that I am nearly in tears. I do your exercises at least twice a day so I can tolerate the pain. They do help, but I am going for cortisone shots so I can continue doing these exercises and go to physical therapy for six weeks, as my HMO directs. This pain is as intense as when I had the bi-lateral knee replacements 18 years ago. I am sure I would not need the cortisone if my frozen shoulders were not bi-lateral. Be that as it may, I am very grateful to you for sharing this information. As a single person living alone, this information is manna from heaven because it does alleviate some of the pain so I am at least able to cook for myself. Adding starvation to this problem will not help at all! (LOL) Again, thank you so much.

This video is a gift from God. I couldn’t sleep. Propped pillows to no avail. I was advised to take NSAIDs and minimize movement and the pain got worse. This video was recommended a week ago. What a difference. Pain is less every day, mobility and sleep are coming back. Thank you.

All of these exercises significantly helped me heal my stage 2 frozen shoulder. Within 3 months of doing these exercises 6 days a week, I was able to race in an Xterra off-road triathlon and qualify for the Xterra World Championship! After this event, I found I was plateauing and needed some trigger point release and other strengthening exercises for continued mobility improvement to get back to 100%. Thankfully the end is now in sight and the pain is behind me!! 🙏 Very grateful to Dr Mandella as I would definitely not be this far along without his help!! FWIW: Frozen shoulder has been the hardest and most painful condition and recovery I have ever endured.

I have been practising these exercises for only about a week, but already I have noticed a great improvement in mobility and there is much less pain in my frozen left shoulder, so I shall continue practising in the hope that improvement will continue. I am a pianist and organist, so shoulder mobility is absolutely essential, and the exercises seem also to be helping me to sit in a better posture whilst playing in the hope of avoiding further damage to the shoulder.

When this first started I could not lift arm up over a table next to my chair without significant pain. It was kind of frightening and made me feel the encroachment of age. I will definitely continue. I also sleep on the opposite side and believe a significant part of this pain is caused by too many clicks on my laptop while sitting in this chair.

These simple exercises helped me a lot. To be frank my orthopaedic doctor asked me to do similar exercises but failed to explain them properly in terms of duration and repetitions of each exercise. My case deteriorated and resulted in more pain and problems in sleeping at night. I then went to a Chiropractor for 4 or 5 sessions that brought me no improvement at all. He used to perform few knocks on my back and shoulder, then he used to stretch my arm in a way and then placed on a massaging table while wiring my shoulder for muscle stimulation. First session was 40 min and the subsequent 4 sessions were 20 min long while the Chiropractor had another patient. He indicated that I should the 2 sessions weekly for 6 weeks then he will see. I honestly started to feel he was acting and decided to quit. Then I came across Dr. Mandell's youtube and liked the simple way he explained the exercises. I felt the improvement after a couple of days and the third night was the first night in weeks I slept well. I am doing the exercises for 3 weeks now and I am feeling improvement every day. I already recommended this video to a friend who also had same improvement. Thank you Dr. Mandell.

Brilliant. My shoulder has been rapidly losing movement and the pain has been very intense. Now that I have found these exercises In just two days I have increased range of motion and decreased pain. I have had frozen shoulder on the opposite arm and it took eighteen months to clear. Jann Axelsen PLEASE WORK ON YOU ANTERIOR HEAD CARRIAGE . Post surgical tears are very common as it doesn’t correct the posture namely here the neck curvature and head position. Each cm of forward head carriage increases pressure in the disc by 2kg. That decreases perfusion of blood to the spine and nerves feeding the shoulders. This decrease blood supply and neurological function. Ani inflammatory drugs decrease lubrication it the joint , bursa labrum .

It's a minor oversight, thought you should have recommended warming up the shoulder with a heating pad before starting the different exercises. Did all of the exercises and found them to be very helpful. I believe the root of my underlying condition is caused by my favorite chair that I sit in every night. Thanks for making this video.

4 months ago I fell and broke both of my upper arms. I now have frozen shoulder on both sides. I've just started your exercises. One thing that has halped - CBD Oil. It relieves some of the pain and allows me to exercise with much less pain!

Well I just tried most of these exercises very slowly and gently and got some good relief from pain and stiffness.I was having difficulty putting on my coat as my shoulder was so stiff but after one session of these exercises I achieved improved freedom of movement.

Also make sure when dressing and undressing and putting on your coat you always put the bad arm in first! It probably sounds obvious but you’d be surprised how many people don’t know or realize this. I watched your entire video at five in the morning in bed. I got up made myself a cuppa coffee started doing the exercises. At 5:30-ish my upstairs neighbors started stomping on her floor (my ceiling) because, I didn’t realize I was screaming in pain as I was attempting to do these exercises. I was initially injured November 2001 broke my arm tore the rotator cuff and dislocated my shoulder. I’ve already had two shoulder surgeries in December 2001 and July 2013. Now they want to go back in and “Clean-up” my shoulder. I was too nervous to ask my doctor what he meant by “Clean-up” my shoulder. I’m familiar with about half of the exercises you showed. The dangling arm and crawling fingers up the wall. The picture frame and the choke exercise really seemed to help. I’m going to continue your exercises for at least six weeks, before I make my mind up about having a third surgery. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge I sincerely appreciate it.

Wow...God is good...I woke up this morning with excruciating shoulder pain . I tried to exercise but it hurt to move...guess where...my shoulder and joints. Thank you Dr. God Bless you for helping others! It’s unbelievable to me how much this shoulder pain hurts and how long it can last! I’m just now able to start therapy after an injury 11 months ago😱the pain was to much after sustaining a tennis injury on my r shoulder. I’m trying to avoid rotator cuff surgery! Your video has been very helpful! Most importantly I hope all who are watching realize how important it is to move and follow your techniques as soon as possible when they can do so with minimal pain! DONT GET DISCOURAGED!! Thank you for this video! I was in a bad car wreck last week and I don't want to lose range of motion in my shoulder/back area. Put my timer on and did these and not too bad w/ the pain.

How.long did you have frozen shoulder until you started to improve? I was just diagnosed yesterday and I'm worried because I hear that it can take up to a year or more

around 2months then I started doing the pendulum exercise and then I experience improvements. I will continue gradual additional repetitions on those exercises i learned here and from other PT videos.

I had Pfizer covid vaccine injections a week ago and 2 days later I got severe arm pain in the left arm, joints, shoulder, and tendons. I could not move my arm. This video is awesome to loosen up my stiff and painful arm. You are a lifesaver. Thanks:)

After 2 1/2 Fears Frozen Shoulder, I could'nt lift my right Arm higher then my bellybutton, and the terrible pain never lefted ne, I had a Surgery. My Physican always only streched the Shoulder, ....and now I tried your Exercises...surprise it helped more then all those expensive Treatments. Thank you very much😊

@@hadawyrabid8535 Sorry, just saw this question now. 🤦🏻♀️ I used to do them mornings, after a warm shower, and for as long as comfortable. It’s been almost two years since - I do it as a habit now and then - and shoulder is almost back to 100%. Goodluck a d Godspeed. 🧿

Again, thank you Dr. Mandell. I've had both of my shoulders freeze up due to improper sleeping position. I've seen many therapists--physio, massage and chiro and it's so frustrating that they don't share this information so I can continue to heal myself. Rather they just keep me locked into appointments ànd drain my account. Now, with your wonderful efforts to help so many of us dealing with pain on a daily basis, we can really get somewhere and can work towards getting our quality of life back. I will begin these exercises and finally get results. The reason my sleep positions are not good is because my back is really bad. I have scoliosis and spina bifida, a herniation between L4/5, disc degeneration, and fibromyalgia. As I get older, my ability to lead an active lifestyle is hindered by a lot of sharp nerve pain, sciatica and numbness. I eat healthy, keep my weight under control, do a lot of stretching to keep my flexibility, and keep as active as possible, but my back is getting worse every year. Now I'm contending with a by-product of back problems--my shoulders. God bless you for helping us all. 🙇👍

Thank you so much. These exercises have helped me so much. I'm only on day two and my picture frame exercise is less painful. My daily shoulder pain has lowered and I'm having a much easier time putting on something simple as my seat belt.

Thank you one of the most sensible videos I’ve come across. I have seen quite a few of these exercises from the last time I had it. My frozen shoulder has returned after surgery years ago. These are gentle controlled that other physio therapists have taught me also the pool is great. Look up pool exercises.

Watching you from the Uk. Just finished these exercises and feel a lovely fuzzy feeling of .....no pain! I’ve struggled with frozen shoulder for the past 3 months and have been taking an array of painkillers which I am keen to stop taking. So I’m starting to reduce today. I do believe that the exercises that I have come across have definitely helped. Thank you Dr. 🤗

Julia Willis Be sure to check out Dr Mandell's video on the neck, linked at the end of my response to your comment. Some people will benefit from the exercises he present because the shoulder and neck are inextricably connected. I have had cervical kyphosis for decades and fortunately found this video in a search. The exercises he presents will help anyone whose neck has been forced into a forward position through accidents and/or chronic strain, like working all day long at a computer. Reversal of the natural C-shaped curve of the neck is becoming increasingly common as people spend a lot of their day bent over a keyboard. Thank you so much for your wonderful exercises. The pain is excruciating (and I had to force myself to do it) but after doing the stretches i feel like i have fuller range of motion in my shoulder. I’m on day 2 and I’m doing everything I can to get my life back by doing these stretches. I really appreciate your video so much.

@@goldmouth100 yes i had a complete recovery from doing the exercises. Even though the exercises hurt like nobody’s business, i forced myself to do it. And it worked. I think in 3 days i was back to normal. It really worked.

My shoulder hurts like hell for the last 2 weeks... I sew everyday and I need my shoulder. It even hurts to drive.....I hope these help. Thank you so much

@@goldmouth100 hope things work out for you. All i know was the pain was killing me and i thought this was going to be the way of life for me. It effected my entire life. And so i decided to youtube it and found this exercise and decided what the heck. Ill give it a try. And i couldnt believe it really worked. But doing the exercises hurt like heck. But i did it anyway. And surprise surprise. Seriously in 2 days MAJOR improvement. By day 3 it was as if nothing ever happened to me. I was back to normal. Best wishes.

I guess I'll just go anyway.. but I will definitely be doing this video as soon as I get home..I tried a few and almost cried thats what made me schedule an appointment it hurt so bad.. but now I see its supposed to hurt like you said... makes me want to cancel my appointment and try this first.. but I'll just go anyways and give them my money geesh I need my co-pay money to by gas today lol..

Fran Fine wish I had looked it up sooner, I’ve been to chiropractor, massage therapist, and finally orthopedic surgeon, going to have an MRI on my shoulder next week. But I also have a lump in my arm! Hope the MRI goes down that far, I want to know what it is!
