Thanks for posting this. My 1990 Sidekick is starting to run a little rough so I was going to change the spark plugs and do a little maintenance including a new fuel filter etc. Your short, and to the point video showed me pretty much everything about the fuel system that I was curious about. Didn't need any music or edits. This was 3 minutes of video that likely saved me hours of my own investigation. Thanks again!

great vid,...iv had 13 of these and they all eventualy had the same problem .....even ones that were not rotted out ...so now every one i had since that iv pulled the ttail light out ...checked and repaired it ....had one one time that the connector corroded under the hard rubber cover right on the sending unit on top of the tank ..took alot to track that one down ..

Thanks for the video, (There is now a zip tie holding the plug tightly together) you saved me from even more head scratching. The Suzi was turning over but with no fuel getting to the engine and checked everything to no avail. I didn’t have the rust issues you have. Removed the left hand tail light and unplugged the harness, checked for voltage and it was all good plugged it back in and fixed, she lives again.

Love the 89, total rust buckets! See day light through the body inside, even at night. If you need ECU, I have 2 rebuilt, let me know?

Thank you, helped me fix mine. My 1993 8v was shutting off while driving. It was the connections on the main and fuel pump relay.

I had it where my fuel pressure regulator stopped holding pressure making for weak injector. Till one day if finely went n had a no start.

Hello sir my 1996 Suzuki 1.8 is having a misfire I can’t figure it out at ide it sounds good but once I put it in drive or reverse you can hear the mis fire also when I unplug the coil packs from cylinder 1 and 2 the engine doesn’t change at all

I'd start by testing each plug...wire and coil pack then work your way back from there...

I can't seem to find any solid information on my problem. I have a crank no start on a 1997 geo tracker. There is no priming coming from the fuel pump, I've also tested the wire to the back left brake light and nothing. So my guess is it's either the computer or the fp relay. My problem is I don't know where the relay is. If you have any info on its location and if you think it might help my problem I would greatly appreciate the advice.

The relay is under the dash on the drivers side...right behind the fuse box...

There's yer problem! Interesting they're all like that. Probably the very smallest gauge Suzuki engineers could get away with for that wire.

Yup...I ended up just splicing the whole works...if I need to change it later I'll just cut it and do what I need to...haha...at least I'll have a rig next time you guys come down.. 😂😂😂

I've been there! No harm in the big splice. It's not like you'll have to dig around in there TOO often... hopefully. Gotta make that thing some big rubber fender-wells and flaps to keep the gunk outta there.

Connectors always eventually fail because of a variety of reasons and re establishing the circuit with a solid wire bypassing those connectors are a solution manufactures will recommend at their dealerships.

How did it run prior? Mine will run good about 15-30 seconds then will kill if I hit the throttle, but rev up when I let off.

If you only get a few miles before it starts sputtering and bogging down that can also be a clogged catalytic converter.

Hmmm...I'd say check the computer. ..gas shouldn't have anything to do with shifting properly. ..

@@littlemancaveontheprairie4753 it's going into an automatic and it goes into first and second and only can get up to about 50 miles an hour with about 3,000 RPMs it started when I put it in 4-wheel drive and then took it out on a rough road I've checked the vacuum hoses I don't hear a leak it also I do not understand it being choked out when I was stopped then starts

I would say check between the computer and the injector. ..the problem would be in there...

Amigo I have a problem with my Geo 1996 was running nice then for some reason start doing wrong I check everything and everything looking gd the problem I have is that hardly want to start and when start is rough plus I have to kp giving gas and start all rough then if I give gas don't want to move hardly any rpm at all I wander what can cause such problem thanks probably you can help me have new tune up wires etc have new air filter new air mass I check the air idle control it work the tratle senser look gd vacuum hoses look gd I really can't find the problem do 1996 geo tracker 16 valves have a cold start sensor some place

There is a connection behind the rear drivers tail light.. alot of times the wire for the fuel pump is corroded...I'd start there if you think it may be the fuel pump...

@@littlemancaveontheprairie4753 thanks I will look at it tomorrow but above all the fuel pump making hard sounds plus is time to put a new one and a fuel filter plus by the sound the pump is working but it seems to loud and if that is not the case I will kp checking to I find the problem but I think is the fuel pump because I never heard the fuel pump sound that hard ever

@@littlemancaveontheprairie4753 and like I always said is nothing like a regular carburetor truck or car I have a old 1981 f150 rv camper 4 sp straight 300 6 six and can tell you is so easy to work on it cheap parts like a old tractors or a old willey jp but with all this computer crap and parts is hard to find what can be a little simple screw really In my opinion is better to make the Geo trackers to carbs and simple lol ike a old willey jp and throw all that electric crap to a recycling junkyard if I can I will make him a carb Geo tracker 16 valves really I hate electronics crap

I guess you wouldn't have to...but there's not much for working room between the tank and body...I'd drop it just to have a beer look at things while I'm down there...and if it's the pump you'd have to drop it anyways...

I had a problem just like this. Unlike you I didn't fuck around. I ran a power wire from the pump to the keyed switch for the radio power wire. It's been a steady runner ever since just fine for 5 years. No relays, no computer, nothing in-between. Key on it goes key off it stops. This is great though cause mine is rusted to shit there too! I'll jump my connector and see what happens.
