Hey, Fuji Guys.. I thought maybe this would be the most appropriate video to post a comment/question/concern about the X-Pro2. First, I'm glad to get email notification my X-Pro2 order has finally shipped and look forward to getting in hands soon! As I look forward to receiving the X-Pro2 soon, a potential problem with weather sealing has come to mind. A potential permanent compromise to the weather sealing? That damn push in type sync terminal cover. I believe the x-pro2 has the same one as on the x-pro1 which is so easy to lose since it's not the typical screw down type. What's worst, there doesn't seem to be any replacement part for that.. checking with Fujifilm right now via email customer service. If no replacement cap, and it's so easy to lose, then there may essentially be a permanent weather sealing compromise since no cap offered to cap that hole on the side. I think Fuji needs to really get on this and offer the a replacement sync terminal cap.. general cover replacement kit like they have with the X-T1.. and no the X-T1 replacement cover kit doesn't work.. the sync terminal is different and screw in type. So, this is a little detail, but none the less an important one. Sure I could probably seal almost as well with some gaffer or electrical tape cut to size and placed over the hole, but it's not as good as an actual cap and frankly in my mind feels kind of ghetto fix... i don't want to use tape to patch up and fix something on my camera. With as many X-Pro's which have been sold and having been out for so long, you would think Fuji would have noticed this issue and offered a proper replacement cap.. but, from what I can see, they never did and don't see one yet.. they should really offer since the x-pro2 will have the same problem. Anyways, looking forward to finally getting the x-pro2 in hands very soon.. just concerned about losing that stupid sync terminal cap as I've just lost mine on the x-pro1 recently.. was not as big a deal since x-pro1 is not weather sealed, but the x-pro2 is and this could essentially leave an open hole in the side of the camera and at least partially compromise the overall weather sealing of the x-pro2 if and when the sync terminal cap is lost... whichI know most of you know how easy that is. .. and if anybody knows if there's actually a proper replacement cap for this, I'd greatly appreciate letting me know. Thanks.

Thanks for your preview of the X-Pro2. As an X-T1 user, I am excited to see the improvements mentioned, especially moving to 24mpx and offering a faster EVF refresh and larger faster buffer. Do you believe the same updates will be available for the X-T2 later this year? That would be my choice, and worth waiting for. One reason is that I use the tilting LCD a lot. Wing Yip is right: it would not have cost the X-Pro2 more than a fee extra grams to include it, and probably only about .15" thicker a body. Opens up a new world for low and high-angle shooting.

I'm very happy with this new X-Pro2! Has all the few features I definitely wanted to see in the X-Pro2, most notably faster processing and fluidity of operation and upgrading the EVF performance and integrating the Electronic Rangefinder from the X100T was the biggest wish of all, that's the best! Thanks Fuji! I have a few comments and/or questions below hopefully you can take the time to help me answer or comment on. 1) With that said, I though since there appears to be an extra pin in the hot shoe to work with a non-battery powered accessory flash (like the one that comes with the X-T1) that the X-Pro2 would include an accessory flash, but it appears it doesn't. Too bad, having a quick pop on flash would have been useful for fill light in some situations.. but overall, it looks like the new sensor and processing engine should be very efficient and produce great IQ in both good and especially low light.. early user reports say very acceptable up to 12500-12800 range which sounds very nice. 2) Would have liked a tilt touch screen like you have on the X70, even if it may have added a little more bulk.. those extra high or extra low angles are so useful with a tilt touch screen. oh, wells.. maybe down the line with an X-Pro2s or X-Pro3?.. still, not a deal breaker it didn't have a tilt touch screen this time as I am excitedly looking forward to using the unique X-Pro2 Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder now anyways. 3) I am surprised Fuji didn't decide to make 2 color versions like they have been for all their other models. Really expected a silver or graphite silver version.. Do you know how kick ass the X-Pro2 would look in graphite silver?! Perhaps later this year?.. like the X-T1, maybe a special graphite silver edition 6-8 months later from the initial black X-Pro2 release? 4) Talking about new flash sync speed, thanks for bringing it up to 1/250. And, I'm glad it can go mechanically up to 1/8000. Now, I see you have a new EF-X500 flash coming, thanks for that by the way, and it can do High Speed Sync. Will that be possible with the X-Pro2? Actually, word is it is possible, but please confirm and also just how fast can you HSS up to? the full 1/8000?! hope so. 5) Love the dual card slots, though I never had a card failure with just the one we have in all other current mirroless cameras (Knock on wood). Any tips on how you would set up using the dual card slots? I figure slot 1 that uses the faster UHS-II card for main usage and keeping operation fast as possible, then using slot 2 that uses the slower UHS-I card for backup.. I know the UHS-I card is not as fast as the UHS-II card, so will operation actually slow down a bit because the camera is still trying to backup onto the UHS-I card while the UHS-II card is probably already written and done? Or, is the buffer in the X-Pro2 so good now it doesn't matter, won't experience lag no matter how you set up the dual card slot use? 6) Face detect, a nice new feature to the X-Pro line in this X-Pro2 now. Can you use face detect with the OVF? I was under the impression you could not, had to only be in EVF.. I say this based on what I remembered when I rented the X100T to use and try out. I'm glad it's there, and if you want to take any critical shot where framing and focus is essential, you should default to the EVF. BUT, I really like the OVF and I feel it would be a great bonus feature to be able to use face detect with the OVF.. You wouldn't have to worry about focusing on 1 point and recomposing.. if the face detect works, then it would automatically move the focus point to the subject's face (or eye/s) and automatically adjust the frame lines to match. Could make it an even faster and easier way to use the OVF and better ensure you get a face (eye/s) in focus if that's your goal when using the OVF. So, can face detect be used with OVF? Pre-ordered and can't wait till it's available.. hopefully, Adobe will get their Photoshop and Lightroom updated to be able to process the new RAF files from the X-Pro2. So much good things to comment on and want to say.. but, I'll keep it short here. Thanks for the X-Pro2 finally!

Maybe they will sell it separately. Most buyers of this camera likely already own an X-T1. 😁
@khronokraze9 жыл бұрын
+Rediscover Film Are you talking about the accessory flash? You're probably right. However, I don't believe the accessory flash that comes with the X-T1 is available for purchase on it's own. Maybe later, but I wouldn't want the same style.. doesn't really match.. I think they would do well to make an EF-X20 looking accessory flash.. something kind of boxy and small that matches the retro looks of the rangefinder style more. Still, I don't see any accessory flash (one without batteries, needing power directly from camera via hot shoe) as an X-Pro2 specific accessory.. only the new grip MHG-XPRO2 and the leather half case.. Maybe it might be added down the line? It's one of those features that baffles me a bit.. why add the power port on the hot shoe if you're not going to include an accessory flash? Just in case you own an X-T1?.. Would just make more sense to leave the flash hot shoe on the x-pro2 alone as "standard" like on all the other X camera models.. It just didn't make sense to add a power pin if it's essentially not going to be used with any included or foreseeable future accessory straight out of the box. More or less, a dud feature and detail. Or, maybe that extra pin isn't necessarily for power, but to control their upcoming EF-X500 flash?.. some extra connector to communicate between camera and flash, especially for HSS which the EF-X500 is suppose to have and currently specifically listed for only the X-Pro2 use, HSS part.. I read it somewhere. I don't know?... just trying to figure out why they bother to put that extra connector pin in the hot shoe of the X-pro2. I'm not complaining about the price of the X-pro2 as I've comfortably ordered one, BUT, it would have been nice for the new flagship camera to have had an accessory flash included.. the X-T1 did.

+Wing Yip you followed me. I'm expecting one to be announced. Either they sell the tiny one that comes with the X-T1 or more likely make a special one (think of a tiny EF-X20 without batteries) tailor made for X-Pro2.

+Rediscover Film I would hope so.. looking forward to a different style more like the ef-x20, as you say just for the x-pro2.. will see. I still miss the fact there's no silver or graphite silver version.. i like the black, it works, but it would look pretty sweet in other color options. I suspect in 6-8 months, maybe announce at photokina 2016 like they did with the x-t1 graphite edition and sell later towards the end of the year. I'm happy with the black version right now, still.

Everything is definitely great on the camera, except the battery. I really thought the battery would have been revised. I still have an X-PRO 2 pre-ordered, but I am let down by the battery. Maybe a battery grip for later? We can only hope for a better battery on the X-T2 since that is usually more geared towards DSLR competition.

This seems like an appropriate related video to post this comment and question about the dual sd slot. X-Pro2: Raw+Jpeg, Can't delete both at the same time?! Hey, noticed something a little annoying about the X-Pro2 regarding deleting RAW + JPEG Files. I have my dual card slot setup to be RAW/JPEG, meaning RAW gets recorded to Slot 1, JPEG gets recorded to Slot 2. So, when I shoot RAW+JPEG, as I usually do, both RAW & JPEG get recorded corrected and into their respective slots, 1 & 2. Now, when I go to playback the images I have taken and I see something I want to delete, I cannot delete both RAW & JPEG files at the same time?!.. unlike previous cameras where it will delete both files for you. I'm usually set to review slot 1 with RAW file and I delete it.. but, the jpeg remains.. I have to actually switch to slot 2 and locate the same image and delete the jpeg like that. one or two pics, provided they're not buried deep or scattered widely apart amongst a large number of photos you may have take, would still be a pain in the ass to delete both unwanted RAW & JPEG files. Is there a work around this so the camera is intelligent enough to delete both RAW+JPEG files at the same time so I don't have to do double duty to clean up my sd cards? If not, looks like this needs to be addressed for future firmware update ASAP! Thanks in advance.

I would love to see a firmware update for the X-PRO 2 and the XT-1 that powers the camera down after a time, a half press of the shutter button would then wake the camera up when the power switch is in the on position. I typically don’t use the LCD so when I forget to turn the camera off, the EVF will run until the battery is dead. The shutter button would work better than they eye sensor in this case because the eye sensor will detect anything that gets near it. I’m leaving this to the Fuji guys because I have not been able to figure out how to get through to Fuji and figure the Fuji guys might have their ear.

I don’t know how I missed that; It’s been bugging me for over a year on my XT-1 and I was dreading having to deal with it on the XPRO-2. Thanks so much for the quick response, I never have to use the on/off switch again. :-)

Dear Fuji, I have been an X-Pro user since 2012 and upgraded to the X-Pro2 in 2016. Today I own the 16mm f/1.4, the 23mm f/1.4, the 35mm f/2, the 56mm f/1.2 and the 18-55mm. I love the increase in speed and overall handling, but I have one complaint. I wonder; Why is there no option in the menu to turn off shutter AF? You might say, "Just switch to Manual focus mode and your problems will be solved". Then I have to respond that I wouldn't mind this workaround but, unfortunately, back button focusing in manual focus mode, with either the AE-L or AF-L button, increases shutter lag significantly compared to shooting in AF-S or AF-C mode with AF assigned to the shutter button (and this is in High Performance mode with a fully charged battery). Back button focusing in manual focus mode with the "Instant AF setting" (Page 93 in the X-Pro2 owner's manual) set to AF-C increases shutter lag with almost a second (!) which make it impossible to track moving subjects, such as brides walking down the isle at weddings. Additionally, it is not possible as of X-Pro2 FW 2.00 to back button focus in AF-C mode and track moving subjects. Back button focusing in AF-C mode makes the camera lock on target as if it were in AF-S mode. Therefore I request a FW update adressing one or all of the aboive mentioned issues. Please enabling me to turn off the AF from the shutter button in the button settings. I believe this is an option that already exist in the X-T2 menu.

I have a lot of Fuji cameras and lenses. I found an issue on my X-pro2. Using the 35mm f2 lens (I haven't tested others) there is a one click focusing difference when switching between the OVF and EVF. The OVF is mechanical and fixed but they should be able to calibrate them by a software update for the EVF. Fuji support tells me this is normal. "Normal?" It's annoying! I was told they may consider it a problem if they get more complaints. It's an issue or not, but if anyone else has the same problem get in touch with Fuji support and complain. This is not a cheap camera and this focus difference between EVF and OVF NEEDS TO BE FIXED.

Is the grip that's wrapped around the whole camera all rubber just like the xt1? Or did fuji go back to using the plasticky harder type? MENU > SETUP > POWER MANAGEMENT > AUTO POWER OFF - the minimal value is still 1 MIN? If it still is, it sucks. In my opinion, this option is the main culprit rapid depletion of the batteries in Fujifilm cameras. Why it is not like in the Canon PowerShot G16 camera which I had before? Right now I have Fujifilm X-M1 but I'm trying to sell it along with all my lenses. It's from Canon PowerShot G16 User Guide: "Power-Saving Adjustment" "To conserve battery power, you should normally choose [On] for [Auto Power Down] and [1 min.] or less for [Display Off]." "or less" it was as I remember 30 seconds. "Using Eco Mode" "The screen darkens when the camera is not used for approximately two seconds; approximately ten seconds after darkening, the screen turns off. The camera turns off after approximately three minutes of inactivity." Canon has a better programmers or what?
@mkamelg9 жыл бұрын
+Fuji Guys Thanks for your answer. "The menu system has been updated on the X-Pro2. There is an "Economy" option in the power management options." Someone already wrote about this feature ... "However, what they did is offer three power management modes: Economy, Standard and High Performance. As you might guess, autofocus speed and EVF refresh rates increase as you switch from the first to the latter, but battery life decreases, from 330 shots over 250 to 220. I just use High Performance and I pack a couple of spare batteries. I guess I’ll only use Economy when I see I’m popping in my last spare! Oh, and even in Economy the camera is still a Ferrari compared to the original X-Pro 1. So, as greater minds have already said: ‘Everyting is relative’." Source: www.morethanwords.be/blog//2-months-with-the-x-pro-2-my-10-favourite-features-part-2 Economy: 330 shots Standard: 250 shots High: 220 shots Almost every Fujifilm camera user carries a couple of spare batteries (including me, I have always two in my bag and at home another two). But would carry only one battery, especially if shooting photos like me - I'm out of the house for an hour or two, I see something interesting, I pull the camera (X-M1) out of the bag, I take a picture and then I hide the camera in a bag (or slide into my Peak Design CapturePRO clip). But LCD display is still running and will be shut down for about 1 minute (in the best case) which I think is not good for the battery life. So if "AUTO POWER OFF" in X-Pro2 still ending on 1 MIN... New 24 Megapixel X-Trans CMOS III sensor, two memory card slots, probably the most complex menu of all cameras in the world with many options to set... It's not good for battery life, this camera deserves a really solid Eco Mode as mentioned by me earlier Canon PowerShot G16.

@fujiguys7 жыл бұрын
Many people prefer to start with a somewhat flat image. However, with firmware version 4.0 (available December 22, 2017), you can! Any film simulation settings are embedded into the RAW file, and depending on your computer software, will bring up the RAW file with your settings already applied. There's also X RAW Studio, which allows you to post-capture process RAW files using the FUJIFILM processor inside the X-Pro2 to create .jpg files that exactly match FUJIFILM's film simulation modes in-camera. Mac version available now, Windows expected in early 2018.
