You're funny! The gfx 100s sensor is made by Sony! But this camera can't beat the crazy iso, 8k video, evf, af speed, fps shooting, wireless data transfer speed, ftp and lan, 5g, cinema tone, battery, just to name a few of what the a1 has. My a7mk4 beats my gfx50 all the time and the small pixel dense difference doesn't even matter. The a1 can do more than a 100mp shot too with pixel shift just like the a7mk4's 240mp! Which most photographers don't even use...unless they have a client for 20mx60m billboard shot! I love my fuji system, but it starting to collect dust when i got my a9mk2, a7mk4, a7smk3. And the GM lenses are sharper than most of my fuji lenses and they're perfect for my fx6, fx9 and venice! To beat Canon or Sony or Nikon, etc. it has to be in the sales figures too!

But they did hold a couple of things back; which is why I will stick with the beast GFX100. The grip on the 100 is bigger and for me easier to manage with its two firing buttons. Tilty finder - I shoot weddings - so being able to shoot waist level is key - two batteries in the grip - the 100s has less power - apart from that I have bought 1 for my partner Jane who had a 50s before - now we are 100MPX all the way through with a couple of X100V's for B+W and a spare GFX50r - oh and a couple of Instax Wides for fun - I was a former Fuji Ambassador - went to Hass - then Phase One - then came back!!!! Rock the Fuji all the way - best review so far. Addendum - the Q buttons on the 50s and the 100s has no disable function which is a shame - always accidentally pressing it - even when picking it up - other than that everyone should buy one. - Now give us some more cool lenses Fuji - your zooms are hopeless at best and the enormous 32 -63 suffers droop - more primes please - and there is no continuity across your range for filtration

Will Canon EF Lenses get a vingette of black borders if used with an adapter in the GFX-100S?
@BandH4 жыл бұрын
You would need to use a lens adapter like the Metabones 1.26x Expander for Canon EOS EF Lens to FUJIFILM G-Mount GFX Camera B&H # MEBEPEFFGBT1 to avoid vignetting. bhpho.to/3rfBYC8 A Canon EOS EF lens intended for use with 35mm film or full-frame image sensors is mounted to a FUJIFILM G-mount GFX camera, it renders an image smaller than the camera's sensor was built to accept. To avoid instances of vignetting that may result from such a lens and camera combination, this lens adapter enlarges the image before projecting it onto a FUJIFILM G-mount GFX camera's medium-format sensor. >Mark

So all these years, no one can come out with a 60mm X 60mm or 60mm X 45mm true medium format camera but still dated APS mdf camera? Fuji is smart by making three lenses formats: Fuji APS medium digital format, Hasselblad APS medium digital format & Fuji APS for pre-amateurs.

You said the sensor was 2 times larger than 35mm full frame when it is 1.72x larger. The Phase One XF system utilizes a true full frame medium format sensor with a 2.58x sized sensor over 35mm full frame. Learn maths please! The 100S sensor is 44 x 33 = 1452mmsq. Full frame 35mm is 35 x 24 = 840mmsq. 1452 divided by 840 = 1.72x.

Phase One is in BIG trouble. P1 pricing makes absolutely no sense this point - the difference between the Sony BSI sensor at 150mp v 100mp and cropped medium format v full medium format is trivial. And there are some obvious reasons why the GFX 100s is superior to the PI IQ4 - IBIS and OIS and weather sealing are big. Also, the form factor makes the GFX 100s a field camera - whereas the PI is stuck in the studio as a practical matter.

Bokeh: You don't need to stitch 50 images to get this look, 3 images from full frame will emulate a larger sensor with access to far shallower depth lenses than you get get from any Fuji. This 80mm lens is cool, but its depth of field is only equivalent to a 63mm f/1.34 on full frame (47mm entrance pupil). A 50mm f/0.95 is wider and has a larger entrance pupil (shallower DoF from the same distance). If you do want to take a panorama to get a real wide super-fast equivalent you'd be much better off on a full frame since you can get lenses like 85/1.2 (71mm EP), 105/1.4 & 135/1.8 (75mm EP). Only 9 shots stitched together from a 105mm f/1.4 will get you a 52mm f/0.7. Some of these lenses can adapt to the GFX of course, but would be terrible for stitching due to corner issues (even if they did fully project to this "not quite" double full frame sensor). I don't want to sound like I'm crapping on this camera, I'm not. It's amazing! It's just not the king of depth of field apart from a couple of fringe cases, like adapting full frame portrait lenses (that project well to this sensor) for single frame use.

Fuji being smart to cannibalise their own sales of the GFX100 than let the other players eat into their share with their high res FFs. Their main competitor for now is what Canon might put out with their coming 90mp monster. Meanwhile before that drops Fuji needs to firm up the GFX lens lineup fast, even if it’s through announcements and roadmaps. Canon is spearheading the lens game and it will sway customers.
