Hey Joelle! I just bought a quality roller for my home gym because there is such a big spash about the benefits gained from these. YOU are my crash course instructor and I will definitely say with full confidence, your flow is a perfect guideline for my needs. I've got a 10-minute class here as well in case you haven't tried it yet: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKeZhIZpi5iBkNU And a styrofoam roller tends to work well, there are different variations of firmness that can create differing levels of intensity (the "toughest" ones are usually the ones with "teeth"). Personally I like a medium firmness, so it sounds like yours and mine may be similar!

This was my first experience with a foam roller. It's a rather hard one and I found it to be if not quite painful, definitely uncomfortable. Not something I would want to do regularly. The class was really good and I am considering doing it with a wheel instead.
