This low key class is all about the nerves! What is nerve flossing? Well, our nerves are like little bundles of microscopic spaghetti that travel all through our connective tissue, muscles, and joints. When the tissue that surrounds the nerve gets compressed - it causes pain, numbness, or tingling. So, we move the body in ways that pull each end of the nerve back and forth. This moves it through your tissues like floss through teeth, creating more room for the bundle of nerves to hang out which means less compression.
Warning: If any of this flossing causes pain, stop your floss immediately.
We'll start by inviting our awareness deeply into the body and finding the shapes and breath that honor our personal physical forms. With a focus on stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, releasing stress and tension, uplifting and calming the mind, and increasing strength and range of motion.
This free class will be mash up of traditional yoga (breathwork - meditation - movement) and somatics (emphasizes internal physical perception and experience to cultivate embodiment and release big emotions/trauma & stuck energy).
