I have no inclination to follow or be a part of politics of any sort, for example, and as it is I have heard the most information, period, about Trump, for example, from his detractors. If not for them he would not even be on my radar. For example.

Just a deeply loving, extremely spiritual person. Not the fake spirituality that we so often see, but the real stuff. A guy who's entire inner life was filled with love for family and friends. Check out the Scorcese film on him..."Living in the Material World," and you see just how much he affected his friends. Amazing human being.

George was just wonderful. Such a sense of humor. He was quiet under many circumstances, but straightforward, sincere, and at some wonderful times, so hilarious!

What an incredible person. I don't think he's stoned at all in this interview! Quite the opposite actually; very sober. He seems very thoughtful and almost every sentence he spoke was a very sobering and deep thought. Beautiful!

George Harrison sounds so level headed in this interview coming out of the Beatles. Like, they or he grew out of being The Beatles and wanted to move on to other things. We all grow out of stuff - I really like his soft handed way of describing his life and so forth. He has so much integrity.

I saw George December 4th, 1974 at Olympia Stadium in Detroit. It cost $8.50 for a ticket. I stood in line from 4:30am to 5:30pm with no breaks and bought 6 tickets total. Ravi Shankar opened for him. I walked around the stadium and eventually got on the main floor and took some photographs of him. It was great to see him.

He was an underrated, yet amazing talent. If it hadn’t been for John and Paul, being in the forefront, I believe that George would have left a legacy, equal to, if not larger than, his band mates.

Harrison is the reason I play guitar. "saw her standing there" was devastating to a 4 yr old kid in 1964. it set the pattern and the standard for me that still holds true today. his ability to play exactly the right thing, get in, say his piece, and get out is an art in itself. I've never heard the man play anything that didn't show impeccable taste. He was a first rate musician and he is sorely missed. Anybody who plays guitar can learn something from this exceptional gentleman, I know I have.

I get you George. I love your voice, love your cheeky humor, love your mind, love your songs, in love with those soulful eyes, love your search for purpose (ironically you were serving it perfectly). I search the Internet just to hear you. The quiet ones are usually the smartest, most sensible. “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.” - Abraham Lincoln. And, “Speak only if it improves upon the silence.” - Mahatma Gandhi. You always improved the silence.

George struggled with drugs in mid 70s and perhaps abandon his outlook on the spiritual and need of material things, but I'd say George caught right back up with this mentality again in later life, the road will always be fraught with peril and temptation George knew better than many and that potential to transform is within us all.

I bet for George, 1963-1969 felt like seven decades. I can't imagine how overstimulating it must have been to be in the Beatles during that cultural cataclysm.
@Acujeremy5 жыл бұрын
@@zenobardot I think George had this idea that The Beatles was the beginning and his great stuff was yet to come. Maybe all of them felt that. But now in 2019, we can look back and see there is nothing any of them did that even compares to the brilliance of The Beatles.

Watching this interview, I'm thinking -- okay, you're Dick Cavett -- you're interviewing the most successful solo Beatle (at that time), with a massive hit record the year before -- he'd just hosted the first superstar charity concert ("Bangla Desh") -- and you spend the first half hour with some of the silliest questions. I think George was doing his best to keep this interview going until they talked about any of that (you have to find Part 2 of the interview to hear it). But I always love listening to George's voice -- talking or singing.

JohnCee - Dick has an excellent way of interviewing, it really works.

Cavetts style of interviewing was different from boring regular interviewers, in that he was more relaxed in his interaction and asked many non conventional questions, part of how he had such a wide range of artists on his show.

I wonder why people search out videos that feature someone they do not like. What's the point. I like to ignore or avoid such videos. For example,l if I'm watching television and a program comes on that I don't like, I change the channel. I don't watch it just so I can talk about how much I hate it. And none of you, who post your diarrhea about how much you despise this wonderful man, actually has anything intelligent to say. My 15 year old is more capable of intelligent debate.
