UPDATE: Demolition has begun on the park about a week ago. Currently all of the "Main Street" buildings and structures have been leveled, including the ticket booths, iconic front gate, the main restrooms and information center, both "towers", the Freestyle Mercantile, Red Red Wine, the Beale Theater, the coffee shop and everything else in the vicinity. There are only a few stragling walls left and the footings to the front gate. The fallen remains of the buildings are being hauled away by semis and dumptrucks. I'm assuming once that area is clear they will proceed to the scattered buildings remaining in the park; i.e. "Strawberry Fields and Cream", the red and yellow stunt show buildings, the Gibson Store, etc. I'm not sure if the former mall that held the dark ride and arcade are going to be demolished or revitalized but realizing the buildings awful condition I'd go with the former.

Is it private property? Just curious if I would have to get permission to visit

I believe the county owns the property. The owner passed away about a year ago. There are zero "no trespassing" signs or any other signs in relation. Extremely easy to walk in to. Just a little creepy.

Did you have any trouble getting into the park? I'd like to do a photo shoot there

It was surprisingly easy. Just park at the mega church that's for sale parking lot. Do not park at theatre/resturant next to it. Then you literally walk maybe 100 yards to the front entrance.

That property has always been jinxed. It's on the wrong side of the inter-coastal and hard to get to once you're already staying at the beach.

It really is! It's not talked about alot because it sits under the giant shadow of Six Flags New Orleans.

The place needs to be demolished seeing it’s lifeless. There can be a Exhibit Develop Group as there is in Minnesota it can be next to the Mid Evil Times as that be another new attraction to bring in that area

I live in Myrtle beach. And I had the annual passes to the park when it was hard rock and freestyle. I went every weekend. So it’s crazy that’s how it is. And the other week. I just did a photoshoot with my car in there. Check it out on IG CLA250_brian
