This is my ultimate goal as a gamer... i already have nearly every PAL Dreamcast game, just shy of about a dozen games but i really want to finally get a full PAL Mega Drive collection as it was the system I grew up on and played all the time as a kid

@@tootyuk Absolutely. I've used Finngamer's Wii U document for a list of all PAL games. He even has the unique amount and total number of titles including box sets and variants. Well nearly all. I'm about 23 titles away from a Wii U set. Unique games totalling 163, I think. Or 162 if you can't get that bloody Pokémon Rumble U which is a download code. Don't have room for all the box sets so thought I would just try and get one of each game plus a few variants. It will be the only full set I have but that's enough. Bonus is the entire unique set fits on metre high Billy bookcase.

Brilliant collection mate I think in my heyday I had about 50 mega drive games, unfortunately many got sold when I bought a ps1 in about 96. My favourite of all time has to be Shining Force 2. Played that game through so many times. Thanks for sharing!

Bloody minefield, im sure they could use easier more user friendly ways of sorting the games, ive since gone back and looked at the megadrive set and its more complex than i first thought as there are UK exclusives aswell as a german one, but when you click on those flags it still shows all the Euro ones!!

@@tootyuk yeah I've had full day sessions clicking each country separately to see what PS2 games comes up, as some don't even show in the European selection. Argh. Problem with the database is. 1 person programmed it, and has gone AWOL. There is a few people waiting to get there hands on it to update it but untill he gives over the 'keys' it's currently in limbo.

@@segadan3709 Not sure if it was him then was it boxed or loose, as im sure the one Rob sold was boxed and he told the chap to get a psu off ebay and also they talked about getting a box protector as the buyer wanted to display, it might have been you though, re psu either a mk1 megadrive or look for a 3rd party one on ebay ;)

Zero Tolerance was the first FPS game I ever played back in 1994. Bit hard to play these days due to the framerate being about 10 fps but at the time I was mesmerized by it and it's one game I would probably never sell or give away.

Thanks mate, yeah they are just cellophane bags, its just to keep the dust/dirt off them and to stop anymore edgeware, you know how sometimes the insert can slip to the bottom and then gets rubbed and damaged.

Helluva video to top-off an amazing journey! So im in the US and have what i *believe to be* a complete Mega Drive global PAL *exclusives* set. I say *believe to be" because finding a definitive list is, as you have pointed out, hard. The exclusives set (to me) is reserved for titles that did not get released in any other region OR if it did, it was released (somewhere) PAL FIRST (and i dont include compilations as none of them include previously unreleased material). So based on your experience, what would the 5 rarest PAL UK games be and, if you have expanded to include global PAL titles from OZ & BRA, what would you say are the top 5 rarest GLOBAL PAL titles? In this sense, i am NOT talking about value but how hard a complete copy of a game is to find. Back when i completed my *PAL exclusives* set, I didnt find a lot of useful information as an outsider (NTSC) looking in (to PAL) which is why i like to do a little more research periodically to see what i may have missed. Cheers Steve, wow fair play on that collection mate, yeah there isnt much info about at all or there wasnt really. 5 rarest Pal games see i didnt really struggle to find any of them if antything it was finding them cib or just the cost, i think because they are in the plastic cases they tend to survive better than nintendo cardboard, saturday night slammasters is a tricky one to get cib, as is spiderman animated, aero acrobat 2, timekillers and perhaps powerdrive, re global i dont really know youve got the 5 or so expensive Ozzy releases and i know very little about the Brazilian stuff

Cheers Chris, 10 you should be able to do them no worries (if you dont sell anymore off that is!) Thunder force 3 got a German release and it was basically the Genesis version

TootyUk I believe Retro Collect to be incorrect on Thunderforce 3. To my knowledge we only had 2 & 4 released on Mega Drive. Genesis suggests American only. German would have Mega Drive on it? The final 10 going to be expensive, as if the other 500+ haven’t been lol

@@cjmretro171 No thunderforce 3 is a "pal" title ive known that for ages, if you search any of the forums you will see it there, all they did was lob a photo copied instructions in German into it i believe (been a while since i checked)

TootyUk But there’s no Pal release with Mega Drive on the box though is there? That’s what I really mean. I have a contact who has a shop and he’s also confirmed it was never released on Mega Drive, only Genesis. I have just read up on the German release with a Genesis box, so it’s one less for me to collect :)

Nice collection - don't usually bother with full collections as there is a lot of crap mixed in with the gold - but MD was a great console and love my small JP collection :-) Btw - seems a shame the retro scene on YT is almost dead nowadays :-( PS. What will happen when the cartiges stop working? I have 160 Mega Drive CIB games 2 of them don't load anymore. And I have them stored in a well dry environment. Will they loose all the value when they stop working?

I think ill be long gone when that happens and if they stop working so what im not in this for the financial gain, these games have cost me very little in the grand scheme of things

I think 98 is a North American release only, im sure nhl 98 is on the Saturn here in the UK ( i know it is as i have a full Saturn Pal set lol) and its not cheap either! thanks for watching Danny!

Sega made a huge mistake selling their arcade licenses to US GOLD...just about all US GOLD arcade conversions for the mega drive looked crappy.
