The coverage simply wasn't there and the casual fan isn't going to put in their own time to know the other non-mega-headline fighters. I've been watching since UFC 42 when I was in high school, lived through many broadcasting changes, and there is no more noticeable of a change within the demographic of fans than when joining up with ESPN when the masses of the unintelligent, highly opinionated mainstream flock to what they perceive to be popular.

If theyre paying fighters 40k but the event only makes 100k, that means fighters get 40% If UFC makes 4 million an event and only pays their fighters 1 million, thats means they pay their fighters 25% Those are just example numbers but the principles are the same. I was at PFL and UFC 300 live! 😂 PFL has a lot to work on with their production, there should not be commercial breaks for the live audience! They literally had 20 minute breaks during the show, when fights finished “too quick”. Some people were getting annoyed and went to the casino section of the Virgin Hotel during the breaks. The fights were fun, but they have to do much better if they are gonna try to be competitive with UFC. I’ve gone to six UFC events live, and that was only my 2nd PFL event live. But Dana isn’t lying I got my tickets for PFL for $20 vs UFC $1400 tickets for UFC 300. I got my tickets for PFL the day of the event because I didn’t even know about it until Thursday night driving past the Virgin Hotel after leaving the TMobile arena coming from the UFC press conference. I’m an MMA fan, so I don’t care for the brand, and I’m not loyal to one over another. I just wanna see good fights honestly. But the production of the event needs to make you wanna watch and keep up with the fighters.

Dana went to school with two rich guys (Fertitta brothers) asked them to buy the ufc while dana acts as the president in 2001. The brothers kept investing money up till 2006 (they operated at a loss for 5 years, normal companies can't do that) so dana did not build anything from nothing,

I don't think Dana does too many fights in areas with that small of a population. I could imagine how difficult it would be to draw a crowd there. At the very most you'll get a fight night just so Dana says he did a card there. No way he will put a main card there. South Dakota has a very small population as well, they did a card over there 1 time before. The attendance record bombed. It was like 1/3 of the average fight night. I guarantee at best they broke even.

That's also 12,000 being almost 10x the size of Hawaii. Also, it's not even just that. Hawaii has extremely high tax rates. They have to cut deals with the building they're operating out of. There's a lot that goes into it, business wise. They don't just pick on a map "this is where we will fight next" a lot more goes into it. I'm not saying it's completely impossible to hold a UFC card in Hawaii. It's just not that easy. The UFC is a business and just like every business, profiting is the number 1 goal. If the UFC was confident they can make a profit there they'd have been there already. They wouldn't just leave free money on the table. Why do you think the UFC won't go there?
