Ad a former correctional supervisor, anytime I became aware of a "closeness" of staff and inmates, I would monitor the situation. If I found concrete evidence, the staff member would be dealt with (is, terminated, charged and escorted off the compound). I would never turn a blind eye to it, I enjoy MY freedom too much. I would document my observation to the proper higher ups. Also make my staff aware of my actions, sending the message "NOT ON MY WATCH!!!!"

I am a former kitchen supervisor at the local county jail and 90% of the training covers all of this stuff as well as the legal consequences of fraternizing with inmates. Employees cannot feign ignorance to the policies in place. One has to sign on the dotted line several times stating that they understand the policy and the consequences for breaking compliance to the policies. I don't get the attraction myself. All of the inmates have sht for brains, otherwise they wouldn't have a DC# and live in a cell block.

She is innocent. Free her now. The inmate probably put something in her drink and was tapping her to blackmail her; what was the reason for tapping her? I know folks that were on her unit; they said she treated them very well and, like a human being, didn’t judge you like some other COs did. She would actually make sure you had your supplies, so you didn’t have to ask her over and over. That inmate set her up and told on her point-blank to get out of trouble for having the phone. He took advantage of her kind heart. Ms. Jerkins, keep your head up. I heard nothing but good things about you from many families members that have folks on Rice Street . May Father God get you through this and this no way define you or your character.
