That Badger mixer is around $15-$18, if people think that's too expensive they are in the wrong hobby. Those folks are probably still bringing their Krylon spray paint glue bombs to shows and complaining about not getting a trophy or ribbon. Great video Old Man as always, straight to the point no BS.

I bought some of these cheap milk frothers, removed the spirally thing and cut the remaining tip to size as needed for the paint jars. Works pretty well for me.

I’ve been using toothpicks to have more money in my modeling budget for other things, but it seems I need to use some of my modeling money to buy one of those paint mixers, because I use a lot of Testors paint. I only have a Hobby Lobby close to me, and all they sell is Testors paints. Excellent video with very good tips. I always look forward to seeing your Friday videos. Thanks for sharing.

I have been using that paint mixer for sometime and they are great and they don't cost that much either. Also, use the panty hose to strain. Great video Donn. Have a great Easter weekend. Terry

Yea that Badger mixer is great. And the cost, at least compared to all the other things you need to paint much less build models. It's less than $20 USD on Amazon right now.

Yeah I agree with Mark G, Run it in a small jar of thinner or if acrylic, just water and it cleans itself up nice. (the paint mixer.) I had never heard of running the older paint through nylon before but it makes total sense to me. Now... the trick is to acquire some nylon..... stealth of course will need to be applied. Or you could try being a gentleman and just ask permission heheh works sometimes....

Happy easter ol mann,,,. Been watching your videos for awhile now, their great!!!!! l strain my paint thru a paint strainer l buy at home depot,, 5 gal strainer bags are 2"" for about $5.00 just cut what you need, and l use a rubber- band instead of tape around the bottle, and always use a aluminum baking pan to mix or strain over,,. Thanks for your video ( Rockabilly scale kustoms) teddy

If people think a Badger Paint Stirrer is expensive, they'll blow their mind at a laboratory style vortex mixer (which is what I use for mixing paints in jars / bottles). I find painters paint strainers (190 micron) are good for straining paint

I use the same pots for most paint recovery. So, I drilled a hole in the middle of one, then cut a slit to fit the mixer shaft through, then taped over the slit. Then add paint and thinner, screw the top on and mix.

Great tips Donn ! The crazy blonde you co- inhabitate with comment had me cracking up because I have one too! 😂 There’s a difference between some lacquer thinners. There are tool cleaning lacquer thinners that are less quality. Then there are acrylic lacquer thinners which are better for thinning paint. There are also different levels of drying times ie slow, medium and fast for different temps.

Very true ! However , SunnySide lacquer thinner is hardware store variety , not automotive . It is a warm thinner rather than hot ….

SunnySide lacquer thinner is hardware store variety rather than that which is used in the automotive paint industry . It is warm , not hot , and when used to cut enamel paints , does not harm the plastic .
