As someone who trains in kickboxing at the dojo I go to, we have thick ropes like the ones in the video. After using the thick ropes they conditioned my upper body and shoulders to be much stronger. Oh and yes, the whiplash from getting hit by one of those on your toes and feet (especially in winter time) is horrible but you learn and improve so you don't hit yourself again.

You don’t wear shoes when doing Muay Thai so it’s better to practice barefoot, it’s also more painful when you mess up to its insentive not to mess up 😂

10 to 15 minutes at a time?
@njmuaythai4 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes, traditional training for Muay Thai is 15 minute minimum (no breaks). A normal training day is 6 am run for 6 miles. Come back to gym, breakfast & rest for about an hour and then 15 minute jump rope, 15 -20 minute bag work and then 25 minute pad work with coach, 20 minute shadow boxing, maybe some light sparring. Then shower, lunch and then nap until 3 pm. Wake up and run for 3 miles, come back to gym and repeat the morning routine except add 30 minutes of clinching. Do this 6 days a week, Sunday off for rest. This was the routine in the 90's. This is why the 90's was the golden era of Muay Thai. Having done the routine in 1997 in Bangkok was a great but much torture. Try your best to start with 5 minutes without stopping and then increase a 1 minute once you mastered a certain time frame. Take care, Coach Ray
