!!this is also amazing, very like the snakeskin tutorial you've provided but with this one the shirt isn't 'centered' first. this is gorgeous, im glad i saw this one because this is closer to what my queen sized sheet will look like. the sheet is originally brown so i plan to offset the application of a diluted bleach gel solution by about 5 min where you dark and light blue'd to set for 5 more mins, neutralize, then apply an od green to the bleached out portions and see what kind of results i get! hopefully today, wish me luck!! thanks for all your tutorials, ill use the camo bleach vid process, and i have an idea to equalize the sharktooth pattern the length of the accordion folded sheet. im not sure where the soda ash comes into play though, so i'll have to rewatch a few times and take notes to make sure i don't miss a step. im super excited to try this!! thanks a million!!

What would you recommend for stenciling names on tie dye shirts and how to do it
@FunEndeavors2 жыл бұрын
You can either purchase cheap plastic cutting boards from the Dollar Store to cut your stencil from, or use a Cricut machine and cut your stencil from removable vinyl. I haven't ever stenciled a name on a shirt. I have painted on a shirt with dye though and it's basically the same process. Here is a video showing how I dyed a shirt and then used thickened dye to paint on a design. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWnIgWurZrqHpqs

Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! Do you think it would work with a cotton sweatshirt? If so, would you recommend just folding up the sleeves to fit within the width of the fabric like you did with the short sleeves? I especially love how the final shirt still has white. Do you think I could achieve this same look with nylon string, jute cord, or rubber bands? Thank you so much!!
@FunEndeavors3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I've never tried this design on a sweatshirt, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Yes, I would just fold the sleeves to be the same width as the rest of the shirt. To keep the white areas, the artificial sinew really works the best. The sinew has a wax coating that helps it to lock down on itself when it is pulled tight, and form a waterproof barrier that won't allow the dye to get into that area. I don't think that you could keep the white area using jute or nylon. Here is a link to where I purchase the sinew. Artificial Deer Sinew: amzn.to/2EF28Lu

Two things, if you told the sides of the shirt like the sleeves it will be even from both sides, giving the best gradient; secondly, with the stencil, if you put it on one side and just slide it up to fit above the next the opposite space would be marked off evenly
