This episode has so many parallels to a Native American myth. The scene right after the Chapter title "The Foundling" shows Bo Katan flying in front of a strange looking mountain. This is where the Monster Bird lives, feeding her babies humans. Once the Monster Bird is defeated, her babies are then saved and become our sacred birds. I love how this show relates to so many different cultures.

In the wiki it states that Din’s armor is silver because it’s “pure Beskar” making him one of only a handful of mandalorians to wear silver unpainted armor. The other mandalorians (with the exception of Bo) are wearing armor more like what Din was wearing at the very beginning of the show. Probably a mix of durasteel (stronger than stormtrooper plastisteel) and Beskar.
@Chaosm03 Жыл бұрын
Also, it's just personal preference. Sabine from Rebels loved to paint her armor to express herself. We saw Boba like his armor painted, even though his dad didn't. Bo used to be part of Death watch and took on their colors for her armor. Djinn seems like a no frills kind of guy. To me it seems like a, I earned this Besker might as well show off it's quality kind of thing. No need for paint. That's why I think he left his Naboo fighter unpainted as well. He just likes the Chrome aesthetic.

AS for Din's armor, I think that's because he was adopted as an orphan into the Watch. The other designs and painting schemes represent each Mandalorian's clan and house, but Din doesn't have either so his armor looks very different.
@AngeloBarovierSD Жыл бұрын
I mean, they're (almost) all adopted as foundlings. Din had matte, hodgepodge, non-descript armour at the start of S1 and got his new shiny suit of pure Beskar after. Now that he's been assigned a new clan (of two), he has a signet but no colours as yet. I'm curious to know how their colour schemes are decided. It's all very (probably intentionally) reminiscent of medieval coat and banner culture.

I know Bo-Katan thought Din was part of a cult not long ago, but just like in real life, when people are at their lowest point, they are susceptible to new ideas, new ways. A lot of people find religion when they are at their lowest. I mean, Bo-Katan lost her home, her followers have sorta left her alone. Maybe the feeling of being in this covert, belonging and being looked at with honor is what she needs for now. But when we head down the road and opportunities present themselves... who knows what she'll do? But maybe she's had a moment of faith.

Bo Katan telling the Armorer was unexpected. It shows how much she trusts the Armorer. The Armorer's end comment of This is the way I believe tells Bo Katan that she believes her. When it comes to Mandalorian Armor, by default it’s a heavy, durable, shiny metal that can deflect just about anything. Each Mandalorian has complete creative freedom when it comes to their own armor, color, palettes, shape, design, etc. It is to their own ideas. Usually they just put their clan symbol and colors. The Armor is also passed down generationally, parent and child or family.
@timidwolf Жыл бұрын
The armour is typically painted to represent their clan, e.g. Bo-Katan's clan, the Nite Owls have that blue scheme, clan Wren has the grey and yellow etc ... Din's clan is new and consists of just him and Grogu, maybe he'll come up with a colour scheme at some point, maybe Sabine will turn up and offer to paint it.

I think Mando's armor is just shiny for a couple reasons 1. As you stated the show probably wants him to stand out from the rest, a classic Knight. 2. His armor was forged from Silver Bars that were acquired Season 1 and were minted by the Empire, stolen from Mandalore. Maybe it's was a pure ore? That and the Bars they were melted from was the same color so I guess the Armorer kept it.

15:48 Their armor colors are tenets by which they live by. Colors mean different things, as well as the piece the color is on. Not all Mando armor is beskar, some is durasteel. Beskar was difficult to get after the Empire wiped Mandalore. A lot of Mandalorians wear family armor, where their suit is comprised of pieces from fallen family members, or passed down like Boba's. Din wears a fresh suit, one made just for him, no one else owned it before him. He has not yet chosen colors to represent himself. Boba's is green, indicating duty. Bo Katan and Paz Viszla are blue, indicating reliability. The Armorer wears red and gold, meaning she honors her forebears, and gold meaning vengeance. She may have a vendetta against someone for killing her parents or family.

Thinking about it now it's possible that Chapter 19: The Convert and Chapter 20: The Foundling could also pertain to Bo Katan. In 'The Convert' she was accepted into the covert and in "The Foundling' it's about her leading her first battle group with her new brethren and learning the Children of the Watch's ways, kinda like a foundling would. Just my two cents.

I don't know about the helmet colors, but one reason could be that since Din was a bounty hunter, he was making a lot of cash. Those in hiding were not. I don't think Bo-Katan has had time to really process her sudden change of circumstances. She went from having at least a few followers, to having no one, to losing her home in a matter of months. She had nothing. Then, she suddenly has a community again, but not one that she controls, or even fully understands. She may have goals, but she doesn't have a plan, and doesn't know these people. But I think she's seeing that she has a place here, if she wants it. Regarding Bo-Katan's age, she first showed up a year or two into the Clone Wars, and she was presented as if she was 16-20. The Clone Wars ended nineteen years before the Battle of Yavin 4. The Mandalorian starts nine years after that, which is 28 years after the Clone Wars ended. This puts Bo-Katan in her mid to late 40's, which matches about what Katee Sackhoff thinks, as well (she has stated that she feels Bo-Katan is a few years older than she is).

Kelleran saving Grogu is an amazing moment on so many levels... 1. It gives Ahmed Best the most amazing and kick-ass redemption since Boba Fett. 2. Kelleran picked up the slain Jedi's lightsaber and fought with one green blade and one blue. I had read that green is favored by Jedi Consulars who prefer negotiation and meditation to combat, but who are still skilled in the Force, and blue is used by Jedi Guardians who fight for the light side and are skilled warriors. In a way, he represented all Jedi while saving Grogu. 3. Let's face it, he looked awesome doing it. 4. As far as we know, only Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka Tano lasted longer when attacked by clones.

I'm glad he was there. But that's about it. I'm more interested in where Grogu spent the entirety of the Original Trilogy years. Maybe they're going to fill that in as the show progresses. The Children of the Watch are not a clan, they are a devout order, some would call them a religious sect. But you will note The Armorer still calls Bo-Katan "of clan Kryze" Grogu has learned about the N-1, he did not pilot the N-1. He showed R5 where to take him, R5 piloted the ship. Tid bit of trivia. The Armorer is played by Emily Swallow, Joanna Bennet was the (female) Tusken Warrior bad-ass in Book of Boba Fett, and was the stunt double for Emily Swallow. Glad to see I'm not the only one asking "where did they put those creatures on Bo's ship? I thought it was a small gunship or assault scout class vessel, not a small freighter. I know in legends the Mandalorian commandos used to wear armour pieces from deceased or honoured family members but it does tend to lead to a lot of multicoloured mismatched suits. Here their colours seem the same, Paz and Ragnar are father and son and seem to share the same two shades of blue. I assume Din hasn't painted his armour for the same reason he didn't have a signet when we first met him, he's a foundling without any family colours. Paints in Mandalorian culture mean something important to the one wearing them, or it is the colours of their clan. Boba Fett's green means duty Black means the wearer values justice Gold means the wearer seeks vengeance Purple serves as a lucky colour (I believe that's non-canon though) There's all the other colours that mean something, I know you understand. As for Din's lack of colour, I don't rightly know, its probably for the purpose of standing out, but the lore explanation is maybe he just never gave it thought. He was assisted by the protocol droid AD-3 and the astromech droid LX-R5.[2] Nicknamed The Sabered Hand,[3] Beq had also served aboard the starship Athylia.[4] The Jedi Master had fond memories of his Jedi Trials and earned the nickname "Sabered Hand" during his time as a Padawan...

I think the foundling might be Bo-Katan, being that shes basically getting reintroduced to her own culture and beliefs. Hence this is the way.

Says 2 mo ago, @ 15:50 or so. You're wondering why Mando's Armor and helmet were so shiny. Remember when he got the big reward. He told tge Armour his armor was weak. And she forged binge on a new suit of armor and helmet. That was back in s1 e1. As why he could take more hits and rounds and flames.

The character is from the Star Wars Jedi Temple Challenge kids game show. I don't know if the character showed up elsewhere in either books, comics or video games. And I mean the Jedi who saved Grogu.

I think the Armorer is just a true believer. She's always known a Mythosaur would rise from the Living Waters and so doesn't have to get all ecstatic or loopy when her faith is confirmed. I could be wrong, of course, but that was my read.

So the jedi master is the guy who not only does jar jar binks in the prequels but he is also the host of this gameshow similar to legends of the hidden temple kind of gameshow. His character jedi master beq is his shows character

I feel like the Armorer is a bit of an uncle Iroh figure. She is a spiritual guide. Bo Katan may have seen a vision of a Mythosaur and will be inspired to act a certain way, or she may have re-discovered the species, and it is up to her to decide what to do with that information. She'll get no orders or explanation, she must find her own way.
