I think the species is protected, so if you do an illegal Primagen, your name will be blacklisted. And the creator of the species can legally take your OC and put it up for sale or do something else with it. The same goes for the Protogen species I think.

@@yoioioiuonn235 They can't, actually. An example, JK Rowling owns Harry Potter but if you make a young male wizard who gets abused and goes to a magic school she can't take that character from you. In that same line of thinking if you make a fake Pokemon, Pokemon can't take that character and claim it as theirs. Sorry, but there's no legal way that can take a custom character that you created regardless of what species it is, closed or not. It's called OC "original character" for a reason. Now if you were taking an exact copy of one of their previously made characters detail for detail that would be different. As far as the "name being blacklisted" that means... nothing unless you were maybe planning to drop 400-500 in the future to purchase one from the creator you aren't going to run into a problem. Or unless the creator of that species once again makes the blacklist public and has their fans harass and attack everyone on that list.

Like, not literally copying someone else's character, but making an illegal original proto/prima character. I think I saw this in a video about closed species. Even so, I believe that people still need to respect the original author's preference, if the species is closed it is closed, so please respect it. If a certain original species cannot have wings, then please respect the author's preference. If you’re still going to make an illegal OC, please have respect for those who really work hard to do something as original as possible, those who really try and put love and months of work into what they created. It must be really sad that you create something that took you so long and then people keep breaking rules and overpowering OCs and you are still criticized by your own work. And when you try to do something about it, you are still very criticized by others. I'm going to do an open furry species, but with some rules, but after that I even got discouraged to continue.

I admit, I like the design and the idea, but because of the restrictions you get, no matter how little they me, I feel like it's not really an open species anymore talking in terms of the Protogen. There no such thing as a "close species" you're free to make a primagen OC with all of the modification to yourself as long as you're not copying other. It's like making a charmander with a diffrent color sceme and appearance and the Creator of the game suddenly making a lawsuit on you. Also the "blacklist" thing that the creator put up is technically illegal as it encourage other people harassing innocent people. The most sensible thing to do in my opinion is just to credit the creator of the species in your artwork.

I'd love to make a protogen but the creator's greed really puts me off on the species, despite claiming that it's an "open species" they claim you have to pay them $200 if you want large wings because it's a "rare trait". Sure you get a reference sheet but i can make one myself. The fact that the threat community backlash or possible legal action over a character with arbitrary traits is ridiculous.

I don't really have a fursona, but I had an idea similar to the protegent if I ever wanted to have one. Basically: - The name of the character would be: "Anubis" - Basically 100% a robot - The ears are not biological and are modeled after the Egyptian jackal ears, but longer and sharp at the top, capable of detecting nearby hostiles by echolocation - The headset visor would be a combination between the existing protegent, but with an added tint of Watch dogs 2 Wrench mask. And it would be more vertical - The right paw (or more like a claw) would be able to be used as a hijacking tool for computer systems (heavily inspired by the mindjacking in Cyberpunk 2077), that can function in wireless mode and wired, using 4 ports one for each part of the claw - The legs would be able not only of incredible speed, but also vertical movement/parkour (Titanfall 2 as a reference), which also results in a standing pose of the character in a continuous "ready" position, slightly crawled with legs " sprung", ready to leap - Would be almost completely customizable with upgrades and the possibility of changing parts at any time. Upgrades to the existing gear would not have negative effects, but as soon as a big modification are done (like changing an arm/leg), the part would initially stay in a "basic" mode for a certain amount of time , an "accepting phase" (only normal functions, no cool techno mumbo jumbo, and no possibility of self-repair if it gets damaged during this phase), depending on the complexity and quality of the part (like: a rare and in good condition part would take a while to be accepted, and an equally rare but damaged part needs more time) - The personality would be kind of "basic": an agent that can be deployed for both industrial/private espionage and a killer: kill target, accomplish the mission, do it cleanly and get out. He's been invented by a private network of hitman and hackers, that can do any job for the right price and have no moral standards on what jobs they accept. He's been designed for the purpose of highly dangerous targets and missions that would put at way too much risk for the other members of the network (of course the payment that the client gives is split to all the agents if Anubis accomplish the mission). And that's about it. Hmm... I may be interested in making this a fully fledged fursona, but I'm gonna need money and help from better artists than me.
