Welcome to the Double Burn Series, a set of workouts that will challenge your body from every angle. You will use a double set principle where you perform 2 different intensity levels of one exercises to fully fatigue the muscle. Each workout will use various pieces of equipment as well as your body weight to increase the challenge. You will work from the hardest to the easiest level with lots of variations to keep thing interesting. Each workout is a total body workout with warm up and stretch at the end.
In Double Burn Flow you will start with some flowing total body movements to warm you up. Then you will move into 2 Lower body sets - with front to back leg sweeps and glute raises, then side leg sweeps and circles with a knee up. Next 2 upper body groupings with large range of motion swan arms, then seated chest sweeps to triceps lifts, first with weights then without. Lastly 2 core sets - first a standing abs sequence focusing mostly on obliques and a lower ab curl to back reach and mini handstand combo. Finish with a lengthening stretch.

I am so excited to do this workout later, which is really saying something! I started doing Linda’s workouts about a year ago, but, truthfully, I would literally DREAD and avoid any kind of leg sweeps… this was Bc of chronic hip pain and extraordinarily tight hamstrings due to misaligned hips and yeeeears of high impact exercise without proper stretching / lengthening. I noticed that sweeps were quite common workouts that would otherwise feel fantastic (flow, feel good series, etc)… initially, I’d substitute with some other move, but at some point I realized the only thing holding me back was me. Rather than avoiding the move anymore, i put my stubbornness and pride aside and started taking Linda’s advice to “Go at your level”. Yes, it was awkward and not even remotely graceful at first, but I started following through with baby sweeps, just with a range of motion that I could perform without discomfort in order to get used to the move… over time, I would push a little bit more… then a little bit more… and started incorporating more stretch-focused workouts… over the course of about 3 months, my jarring little baby sweeps have evolved into long, graceful sweeps (yes, even the sides!!) and it FEELS AMAZING!! Not just when I’m doing these workouts, but ANY workouts, especially weighted strength, and it’s affected many aspects of my everyday life outside of working out, the difference is honestly startling in the BEST possible way!! I could write a book about how Linda’s workouts have literally changed my life in so many ways, physically and mentally. Not all heroes wear capes; you have been an absolute lifesaver for me. Nothing but love, admiration, and gratitude from me!!

Wow, I am so happy to hear of your progress!!!! It goes to show all your hard work has paid off. Sometimes the hardest part is to just try! We are conditioned to hate failure so much that often we don't want to take the risk of trying something new just in case we fall flat on our face. If your only competition is you and you continue to work at bettering yourself rather than comparing yourself to others, then any progress is good progress! I am so happy for you. You go girl!!! 😘❤️

Hi Linda, do you have any tips for avoiding tensing of the neck during moves like the swan arms? I feel that I am compensating with neck tension but can't get my neck to relax.

Hi, it is really important to keep your shoulders down and back. They can be a little under tension because you are pushing them down, but they just shouldn't be hunching up around your ears. If you keep your arms a little lower and make sure you are leading with your elbows, not your shoulders, that will help. 😊
