Baldur's Gate 3 feels like Dragon Age Origins

DA2 is far and away my favorite DA game but DAO brought me into the series and holds a very special part of my heart for it. The first time I went to camp in BG3 I screamed "It's like Origins!"

I feel the same way. BioWare lost this magical feeling of adventure & discovery that BG3 brought back via companions, quests, the camp, etc. especially the companions’ system. I can wait for this game to release fully.

I honestly didn't think I would have as much fun with the Early Access, but it's been a joy to play from the first moment, despite some bugs and shitty rolls

@@LucasRhodan True, I could do without the rolls really. I constantly have to save, so I can re-load certain rolls situations. Not quite sure why they needed to include this.

A lot of that can be blamed on EA as they have chased off all the old developers the made BioWare, BioWare.

I Disagree. Having an agenda makes the Characters from DA:I actually more relatable.. all that thing with humans are selfish in nature you know. Never bought the idea of heroism in Dragon age Games, which is the reason i always regarded Origins as the best game of the franchise. It was down to earth and never tried (as far as i remember) to draw a picture of heroism. Your character happened to become a warden out of and tragedy, not because he wanted to (atleast you can roleplay him that way)

To be fair, you aren't wrong about humans being selfish as that's just how we are, some more than others of course, but there's gotta be a balance between the more selfish urges and the less selfish ones. Personally I found most of Inquisition companions to be unbalanced in that regard, and I think Origins did a better job with characters overall. I get that selfishness is a very human thing along with anger and even jealousy, but if it's not balanced out with more positive traits it just becomes aggravating. It's one of the reasons I have trouble liking Vivienne.

100% agree with you. BG3 definitely gave me the DAO feeling. A couple of extra points, I also feel like the personalities of the companions in BG3 feel like something that old BioWare could have written, the tone captures that darker feeling of dao compared to later dragon age or other non-Witcher fantasy rpgs, and the fact you are allowed to make flat out comically evil choices also adds to that feel. (I suppose DOS2 has a lot of dark stuff happening and you can be comically evil in that too, just the overall feel isn’t quite as DAO as BG3 is to me. The divinity universe always feels more light hearted to me no matter the s*** that’s happening 😂)

BG3 I feel has both, dark fantasy and comical stuff, for example a swamp hag poking out your eyeball, kissing it and then shoving it back into your skull. Overall the freedom of choice you have in the game feels more akin to DAO, whereas in the later DA games you only really had the illusion since all choices lead pretty much so the same conclusion.

Yeah I didn't think I'd ever have to option to do something like recruit werewolves to slaughter elves again. Low and behold...

I'd like if they added an option to shift between third and Isometric perspective like DA:O allowing me to move with WASD would be nice just cause clicking places can get a bit tiresome.

The game looks great, but I'll be waiting for the official release and the Brazilian Portugues patch so I can play with the wife! So far I've heard mostly good things, except for a few technical issues, which is expected at early release. Hope Bioware takes some notes from this and others succesful games for DA4! =]

Besides not rushing the dev team or use frostbyte again...they need to bring back and expand on background, not streamline the mechanics and Make better facial hair. I don't want to get into frosty just to make a bearded dwarf look good.

(Facial) Hairstyles are definitely something I will address in my next video on BG3 and BioWare! Also using a proper engine that was made for RPGs is also something that Larian did better, IMO

For me, the reason Baldur's Gate 3 have same feeling with Dragon Age Origins because of 3 things. 1. CRPG, 2. cinematic and 3. facial expression when in conversation. Divinity Original Sins and many CRPG missing point 2 and 3. Meanwhile, Dragon Age after Origins is missing number 1 aspect because turn it into action basically.
