Those were rain tires. The williams from the 1990's was so awesome that other tems just raced for second. The technology was unreal.

This wasn't actually "the most technically-sophisticated F1 car of all time", the 1993 FW15C was. There's a video where Adrian Newey, designer of both cars, explains that this FW14B was a kind of "rough" product, because it was originally designed as a non-active suspension car (1991 FW14), and then adapted to the active suspension. The FW15C was designed from scratch as an active suspension car, so it was hugely improved: lighter, more powerfull, the technological features were at their absolute peak (before being banned for 1994), and it even had some features the FW14B didn't have, like fly-by-wire controls, for example.

Most people just forget the fw15 but I've seen them both, with the 15 plugged into a computer and dancing about all over the place, incredible technology.

@@theant9821 Here because I just read the book How to Build a Car: The Autobiography of the World’s Greatest Formula 1 Designer. In it, author Adrian Newey says of the FW15 "still probably the most technologically advanced car ever to race in Formula 1".

Ron Dennis said the 1993 McLaren was the most technologically advanced car on track. Yes the FW15C was overall more advanced, but so was the competition that catched up, almost everyone in 1993 had active suspensions and other aids, some even better than the Williams, like McLaren. The FW15C still had a better engine. In 1992 also regulations allowed bigger tyres and aerodynamics, so the FW14B is certainly the more dominant of the two compared to its competition.

The FW15C also had a form of DRS, which used the active suspension to active it. There's a loads of features which were a lot more advanced on it : the traction control was better, it also had ABS, the active suspension was more sophisticated, etc.

Oggi voi siete figli del I phone no?? 😂 😂 😂 😂 Goditela finché puoi, il grande Ayrton si ritorcerebbe nella tomba se vedesse i piloti di f1 attuali, x fortuna che dopo morti non si vede più niente... Per fortuna 🦉

It's pretty amazing to believe that the team which built "the most technologically advanced car ever" in 1992/93 did NOT know how to do a simple welding job in the steering column of Ayrton Senna's FW16 just 2 years later - and the guy who raced successfully for 10 years in 3 different teams did not last 3 races with this "great" Williams team. So all in all Peter is still well in touch with his former employer and it's no wonder that we have this idiotic explanation that Senna somehow "fainted" on the Tamburello as he was holding his breath. Pretty hard to connect the dots there. It's also quite interesting that despite Nigel Mansell being a such a good driver, it took really one of the greatest machines ever built to enable him to secure the WDC that year - in other words, the car was so good that there was no way for NM to bin that years' championship like he did in 1986/87. Last but not least, so we have Hunt champion in 76 thanks to Lauda's crash, Mansell champion in 92 thanks to the Williams being light years ahead of everyone else, Hill champion in 96 thanks to Senna dying and Button champion in 2009 thanks to Brawn also being incredibly superior then everyone else and actually reading the rulebook. Was Britain ever really able to produce a true world champion absent Jim Clark that did not have to rely on fantastic set of combination in their favor so that they could win WDC? And also, when Hamilton wins races with a car that is not the best on the grid then please include him in the discussion.

you are a sad act indeed. Your hero Senna was known for forcing talented teammates out of the car in fear that they would be quicker than him, not that you would know that, being a sycophant. He also, unlike a lot of drivers who had to earn their seats, paid for his seats. That isn't to say that he was not a superb driver, but he certainly wasn't the faultless superstar you think he was.

What an idiot Where do I start!!!!! Firstly you cannot knock Williams and implay that they were not capable of producing the most technologicaly advanced car simply because of an issue that occurd with sennas car and then go on to knock mansells championship by claiming he was in a far superior car, produced ironically by Williams, the reasoning in your statement is laughable, Either Mansel is a good driver and deserved champion or Williams are outstanding engineers who can make great cars you can't have it both ways Second the British are the most successful nation in f1 winning 17 championships by 10 different drivers the next best is Germany with 8 won by only 3 drivers Hamilton was second behind kimmi (in a superior ferrari) in a mclaren which was no where near the best car on the grid, with an experienced 2 time WC in alonso as a teamate who he outdrove and in what was even more outstanding his ROOKIE year setting record rookie stats for 2007 ,he then won 2008 championship in what was again not the best car on the grid against a much experienced massa in a superior ferrari, so yes hes he is a great driver, wh Dont be an idiot

Darren Walton Warwick was verbally promised a seat at lotus in 85 only to be vetoed by senna; this left Warwick without a drive as all other drives were settled, senna didn’t care.

Ham is the only driver to win a race and get a pole in every season he's competed in. He's also only behind Fangio on the all time win percentage list. He also didn't have the fastest car in 2018 and won it then. Almost won it this year despite not having the fastest car. He also didn't have the fastest car in '08 when he won his first title and didn't have the fastest car in '07 when he almost won his first title. But yea, go off, king...lmao.
