(FWR) Subnautica: Below Zero Speedrun | Survival Any%

That was the most insane resource luck I have ever seen, gel sacs, spiral plant, ruby, diamond, and kyanite were all plentiful and in convenient locations. I did make one critical error though, I wanted to test a new idea of mine that involved using the waterproof locker to deal damage for the AS deathwarp but there was one problem, I forgot the waterproof locker. As a result I had to jump of that mound quite a few more times. Somehow still saved time on that split though, it's most likely because I got the jump on the first try and took maximum damage from it. Everything else went rather smoothly, hoping for 25:XX soon.
The objective of Any% is to complete the game as fast as possible, this includes exploiting the game's various glitches to our advantage. If you don't like glitches there are several glitchless speedruns you can find on the official Subnautica Below Zero leaderboard.

Speedruners are a whole different level of dedicated and talented, It's a shame that competitions held for speedruners would be ridiculously hard to set up fairly due to the nature of speedruns in general. But good job anyways, congrats!

What are the glitches used in this? How did you put stuff in your storage from super far away? How were you so fast!

Here's a list of the glitches used in the order you first see them: 1. Flare storage - Throw a flare at a waterproof locker and try to open it at the same time, your PDA won't open. The next time you do open your PDA you can access that locker from anywhere. 2. Snowball Storage - Same concept as flare storage except you have to use a snowball to perform it on the locker inside the drop pod. 3. Prop Boost - Holding an item with the Propulsion Cannon removes the speed cap of the Booster Tank which allows you travel at about 47 m/s. 4. Clipping Out of Bounds - Exiting a hatch right next to a wall will allow you to travel outside the map's boundaries. 5. Propulsion Storage - You can store a waterproof locker full of items in your inventory by picking up the locker with the Propulsion Cannon. 6. Transfer Skip - Probably the weirdest glitch, you stop your self from being locked into the transfer animation by starting the transfer a very specific amount of time after the vessel becomes able to be interacted with (About 1.1 seconds after the orange highlight appears).

It’s a glitch in the first game too. Basically you animation cancel opening your storage. Then the next time you open your PDA, it’s in the storage menu. So you can open your storage from anywhere in the game one time, put your stuff in it, die, and not lose anything

So, it seems that you are going out of bounds in certain areas of the video, which appears to be against the rules of speedrun.com Any% run.

Clipping Out of bounds is allowed for the category I'm running, Survival Any% (Glitched). You might be either reading the glitchless rules, in which case out of bounds is banned, or you're mistaking it for render failure, which is banned in all categories. Render failure is when the game fails to load terrain due lag or a slow computer, I'm using a specific technique to clip out of bounds, which is legal for glitched runs.
