Good mod mate. I bought a heat shield for my 86 GSX-R1100 that was a replica of the one Yoshimura developed that goes in between the carbs and the engine to help stop heat sink into the carbs and hot air getting to the airbox. Gotta admit i mainly bought it because it looks kinda trick😄. My 1st gen FZR has the coils mounted up on the left hand side, on the outside of the frame, under the duct that runs to the air intake in the fairing. Also, in the side fairing behind the air scoops, are ducts that turn 90 degrees up and direct cool air towards the airbox intake. I always thought about extending them with flexi tubing to get the cool air right next to the intake. 🤔

It's definitely worth the money and time to spend on this one! I tried a couple of other heat shields in the past for the spot between the fairings and the exhaust, but I wasn't happy at all. This one seems really good! If it works well, I'm going to do some spots on the fairing as well. Maybe even the bottom and the sides of the air box.

Very good idea. The plastic won’t hold back any heat really.

Nice idea, the stock coils are not that great to begin with. Best is to replace all for pen type coils, 1 for each spakrplug. It needs some re-wiring, but its not that complicated. Ow and a tip for next time if you want to stick something to something...when you come to the part were you have to stick something to another object. If you put the 2 parts in a bag, and put your vacuum cleaner on it and suck it... You may want to remove pointed/sharp parts or cover them before putting it in the bag. Benefits of vacuum is even pressure all over glues surface, and it works like a charm.

Thanks for the tip! Next time I'll definitely try it!
