Nice. I love the G11. Favorite 2nd perk is steady aim. I just hipfire damn near everybody, and if they're too far away I have a great long range weapon too. Feels a lot like playing Halo to be honest. It's nice to get away from sights every now and then.

The 3-round burst did not upset me about the G11; what pissed me off was that you can not have a suppressor attachment on that gun.

cool thing about the G11 is that is was designed to fire a caseless ammo type meaning it had no metal casing to hold the bullet and propellent together the bullet was attached to a solid rectangular prism of propellent effectively eliminating the need for metal casings the caseless ammo however was rather unreliable which would explain why we still use casings

The G11 is an ACR (AdvancedCombatRifle) that was made to hopefully replace the M16 however they could not manage to do so because of the expensive ammo, It's not weird that it looks futuristic, it's suppose to...

hey, for its day, the M16 had a sci-fi look to it when it first came out too!

the ammo is "caseless", meaning that the case containing the projectile burns along with the propellant powder, so no casings get ejected. you are correct that the ammo is VERY expensive. that and they didnt have right chemistry for the case, so it did jam fairly often.

No, it wasn't. It was designed to replace the G3, then in service with the Bundeswehr. And they couldn't finish it because the reunification of East and West Germany had slashed defence budgets, meaning H&K didn't have enough to finish the project.

Yes it was. It was tested along side the aug and colt project to replace the m16. This was happening in America. Wasn't really talking about what was going on in Germany but im sure you're right about that.

@TheRunescapeaddict that is actually the magazine, the barrel sits underneath it. and since the G11 fires cartridgeless rounds (there are no shells that hold gunpowder and the bullet) it can fit a lot of them i there. look it up.

@xxRagingAmishxx: I believe the reason the gun looks futuristic is because they're using the final production model. This is the model that is currently being sold. However, this gun wasn't completed until 1990, about 25 years AFTER the project was started. I'm guessing it would've looked slightly different if it only took a couple of years to develop. Just FYI ;-)

i have switched from the m16 to the g11 and i love it. more ammo, bigger mag, and most important, i can finally defend myself at close rage with the better hip fire of the g11.

Same! Try adding an under-barrel attachment on the M16! Now you have a good long range weapon which is also capable at short range.

@bladejoona It was a prototype. It's black ops, so they are super underground and get weapons before they are released. The AUG was made in the 70's, but in the IGN preview for campaign, Mark Lamia said that they get weapons before they come out as his explanation.

Oh man I can't wait for you to review the M16. It's so different from ALL the ARs... not just the G11. The ACOG and Infrared actually reduces recoil instead of increases. You have a longer damage range than the other ARs. I can't wait. BTW, sorry if I stepped on your toes with some of the M16 info.

I agree on Steady Aim, the spread while prone with it is sow low you can kill people with one burst at frankly stupid ranges without ADS.

Honestly I like Scout Pro with dual pythons on the G11, you don't need SoH or steady aim and switching quickly to pistols is helpful when you have a burst-fire weapon.

The reason why it has smg crosshairs is simple. The electric mechanism to fire the gun makes it way more accurate than the conventional system.

i was more referring to weapon variety than balance with that one, simply for the fact that i see far more different weapons in mw3. however they patched the famas and put it somewhat in line with other AR. also i think a burst weapon can only barely be as OP as a fully auto weapon since it's probably harder to use.

the g11 is actually a German prototype weapon. it was created after world war II and was supposed to be a super rifle that used caseless ammunition and fired at 2000rpm. with a rifle that could fire faster than anything else it was supposed to dominate but due to the caseless ammo it was prone to go off at any time after the first shot do to the intense heat. but when communism fell Germany no longer had a use for the gun and thus abandoned it.

your right about the g36 and g3, but not the g11. the g11 is like a p90 where the magazine sits on top of the receiver and it uses caseless ammo, unlike the xm8 that uses standard 5.56 ammo.

Technically having most guns use the same ironsights isn't lazy programming, it's lazy modeling. Creating a model and programming a weapon are completely different things, they just happen to come together.

@ElmosKnife Stopping Power would have no effect on the G11, due to it dealing 35 damage a bullet. Stopping Power increases damage by 1.4x, and 35 times 1.4 is 49. It's still a 3 hit kill.

It was supposed to be deadly in close combat, but weak at longer ranges. The problem is, there aren't much open spaces in MW3...

The g11 is the exception to the slight of hand pro perk, the variable zoom (and maybe the low power?) will ADS very fast.

@xxRagingAmishxx Yeah...You need a lot of ammo when handling the undead. If the regular G11 has 'enough' then the G115 certainly doesn't. Usually the G115 goes something like this... *Loud grinding sound, out of ammo 3 seconds later* "Damn"

In my opinion, the G11 is a SMG with Extended Magazines version of the M16. Even with the scopes. The M16 is just better at long range combat.

Man, this game would be so balanced with stopping power. The m16 would have the 2 shot kill with SP, and the G11 could be used without it, in favor of another perk. This would also apply to the FAMAS, and say, the AK47 or commando.

xm8 is a assault rifle from heckler und koch like the g11, g3, and g36 versions the xm8 is an upgraded g36 and the g36 is an upgrade of the g3 and g11

3 Barrels?! It has only one Barrel. And no extended Mag needed, as it already has a 45 Bullet Magazine. But true, game developers could have used some fantasy and add at least a Silenced. As for under-barrel attachment, the final version of the original was able to hold a Bayonet.

OK to give you a straight answer: High Damage (55 per bullet), and a High Rate of fire (1000 RPM), combined with the controllability of a burst weapon, and no real downsides = a very accurate, fast killing weapon. Reload is a bit long but not TOO long.

The recoil values Amish has in the video aren’t accurate. The G11’s recoil profile follows a similar pattern to what Amish illustrated, but scaled down: LEFT: 7.5 RIGHT: 45 UP: 45 DOWN: 15 This means that the G11 has the smallest recoil values not just in its class, but in the entire game. Also keep in mind that you have a fat 1700 centerspeed, and crystal clear iron sights. Even when firing at 1250 RPM in the burst, the G11 is goddamn laser beam that simply doesn’t move. It has less recoil overall than the M16 while having a whopping 500 centerspeed on it. I never use the M16 unless it’s for a contract, the G11 is so much better than the M16 not just through superior recoil and centerspeed, but also better fire rate, iron sights, magazine capacity (not even Extended Mags M16), starting ammo loadout (not even Dual Mags M16), and hip-fire accuracy. The G11 is my go-to long range weapon, and performs spectacularly. It may cost you an arm and a leg to even purchase it, but somehow, some way, its cost is justified.

I just realized...ASP, Olympia, G11 I like my guns 'naked'. Oddly though, this review kinda makes me want to play a few games with the Low Power. I've used it before, and sit on the fence about it. The review made me at least give it another try though. Also, is it just the lack of ammo in Zombies that makes you dislike it? I frickin' love it in Zombies. =/

I found them to be rather clean,but I found a glitch with the Enfield.When you equip it with the Reflex scope,recoil is decreased to the point of being almost a clone to the ACR in MW2.

SMG crosshairs, bigger mags, less recoil and better irons? I do agree however that the 2 shot capability should be reduced to a 3-6 hit kill ratio. This makes it less powerfull at close range and less powerfull at long range were the m16 will be better(if the shots to kill were 3-4, WITH a bigger range).

Why 35-25 and not 40-30: Since the damage drop off is gradual, the former will become a 4-hit kill before the latter when you start moving out of the gun's effective range.

@dannymarashi That what I mean, if it the T95 was just a faster shooting, weak at range M16, and not a WMD that beats shotguns up close and snipers at range, it'd be golden. For pete's sake, it has a longer 3-hit kill range than the M16! Nerf the damage a bit, reduce the range, give it back it's old crosshairs, and give the M16 a longer effective range, and voila, better balance! The Black Ops G11 and M16 were, imo, pretty evenly balanced.

well my argument referd to the type 95 but okay, i'll get onto this point. i do play black ops from time to time and basically all i see is famas users sitting in corners waiting for me. i've been killed by the shotguns a total of 79 times, looked it up. all i see in black ops these days is AR users and a 74u here and there, it's ridiculous.
