Yeah the PM63 is the worst SMG in Black Ops. It’s badly outclassed. The MAC-11 is more accurate than the PM63 while matching the PM63 in all meaningful categories, and the Spectre outclasses the MAC-11 as it is basically the same as the MAC-11 but with a superior capacity and more ammo. The PM63 is outclassed by an outclassed SMG. That’s gotta hurt.

# of full-auto guns in this game - 19 Rates of fire 535 RPM - 1 gun 750 RPM - 9 guns 937.5 RPM - 9 guns really Treyarch, 19 full-auto guns and only 3 different fire rates

That’s because of frame rounding. Setting a gun to a fire rate in between those values would just round to one of those fire rates because of the game engine thinking in frames. This wasn’t fixed until I believe BO3

@shortdrummer991 eventually, we're going to get to guns that are burst fire, bolt action, and semi-automatic. I try to make sure I just brush by it quickly. It's not all that important with SMGs, but for guns that aren't fully automatic, it impacts the gun's playstyle, and I will go into that when we get there.

Starting using this... it's pretty nice. I like watching the gun kick. Also, have the grenades changed since MW2 or something? I've found myself consistently falling short with my grenade throws.

@lilman1104 Ah. That's a mix of a couple things. I really am trying to add a certian level of "professionalism" to these reviews in that I want to make sure it looks and sounds polished, but I think I know the culprit. You see more "standout" emotions from me when I'm reviewing a gun I really like or really hate. The PM63 is one of those guns I don't use a lot. Cool irons I admit and it was fun to review, but I generally use other SMGs.

@PrototypeT800 Several reasons. I have always preferred the lower killstreaks. I normally rocked the spy plane 100% of the time, but ghost has pretty much ruined that strategy with this game. I switched to the RC car to see if it made a difference in my game, and it does. I'm not getting jumped by ghost users anymore and more importantly, the RC car is an amazing asset for getting campers. I know though, many don't like the car. I use it mainly because ghost users no likey the explosives.

This is pretty much my favorite overall SMG in Black Ops :) If you've got good aim, and the right perks (Scavenger + Sleight of Hand) you can't go wrong with PM63 Rapid fire. It's just so easy to kill with :O

That's almost all of the SMGs, but Mac11 outclasses it. Lower recoil, more predictable recoil, quicker reloads. Great irons, Rapid Fire Mac11 is still manageable. Scorpian is a niche weapon, and banks on the up-close 2 bullet kill. PM63 is honestly better than a Kiparis.I love how the PM63 handles, but it is constantly outgunned. I even dropshot with it, and it STILL won't consistantly kill them before they re-adjust to my prone position.

@troy242621 that's why u just use extended mags and soh and play it a lot like the mac 11. it has a quick enough ads and high enough fire rate that u can beat other smgs if ur playing right, and also it has a lot of visual recoil but almost no actual recoil.

I wonder if Warlord with Grip is better than just taking Steady Aim on the PM... I'd be inclined to say yes, due to the extra nades, and you'll be using Scav anyway. Both grip and Steady Aim help with both hifire and ADS.

This gun is great. Use it with Extended Mags and the Grip and it will never fail you.

@SwindleUK I have tried it. It may be a good gun but I don't like using the AK 74 or 47. It may sound silly but I just hate the look of them. not to mention I like to mix it up (I change my classes completely every 5 games or so, so even if I got to using the AK's it wouldn't be for long.

I use grip, ghost, hardened, and tac. mask. Semtex, Nova Gas, and Claymore (do'nt call me noob, I just like claymores, I barely get any kills with it anyways). I use this class for S&D and DEM.

@Memory11212 try steady aim instead in sleight of hand. Dual wield reloads are very quick especially on the pm63 so theres no need for it. Steady aim will get you a lot more kills overall ;)

I use this like a shotgun with rapid fire and sleight of hand. Literally, just spray somebody down and then reload. The reload is as quick as pumping the stakeout imo.

As far as I've been doing reasonably well with the pm-63, after all being a fast firing smg it has been getting the job done in close fights, I don't see any point in using it. Lacks attachments and basically nothing makes it stand out from it's peers. I consider it just boring and maybe just a curiosity in BO1.

Good review, but I really don't understand your dislike of dual wielded SMG's I think the PM63 is one of the better SMG's to dual wield with and if using steady aim it kills quickly and easily. Even in the Skorpion review you disliked the dual wield, but those two guns are my favorite dual wield choices. I feel that with steady aim dual wield is a very good attachment to use, but I guess that's just personal preference.

(not saying this one wasn't) But what I think is that there are certain KZbinrs out there who have the "professional" reviews down pretty well, and then there are people like you who has his/her own style. Yours are different than the rest, and are a nice change of pace.

Actually, if we break down the stats it's even more OP with RF and ESPECIALLY with RF and Grip AK fires at 750 RPM FAMAS and AUG fire at 937.5 RPM AK has a recoil pattern of 65 Left, Right and Up and 20 Down FAMAS has 10 Left, 60 Right and Up and 20 Down AUG has 60 Left, Right and Up and 30 Down The AK has a centerspeed of 1600 FAMAS also has 1600 and AUG has 1500 The AK has Rapid Fire (1000 RPM) The AK has Grip (centerspeed 1800) AK with RF and Grip has better recoil and faster fire rate

To be honest, and I really do mean that....I actually COMPLETELY suck with both the AK-74U and FAMAS. My preferred SMG's are the first 3. I know that sounds really weird but I stick with them, the AK-47 (The Gun I have the most Kills with), FAL (With ACOG), The Olympia (The only shotgun compatible for me), and the Dragonov (I like The WA2000 but want ghost when using Snipers). My secondaries are always either the Makarov, Python, and RPG. Does this seem pretty weird or what?

Actually, only the 74u gets an actual foregrip, everyother SMG gets a stock when you select the grip attachment, Treyarch was pretty lazy here.

@SwindleUK have you seen how fast of a kill PM63 is with rapid fire and grip? vs an AK74u at around low to low-medium range the PM63 wins hands down. At medium range its anyones game, at medium high the AK74 wins obviously.
