If I could quit my job for a year to indulge my passions of painting and writing, I absolutely would. I remember a South Park episode that was about Randy's alcoholism where Stan learns about disciplin. Disciplin is not quitting cold-turkey, but rather knowing when to cut back or reduce consumption. That is something that you should consider if you feel like you are on something like social media too much. Learn some disciplin instead of taking a drastic turn. Disciplin is something everyone should learn. Clearly she didn't. I get your point, but going "cold turkey" can still be really helpful to pull you out of those bad habits and make it easier to have that discipline. I've done what Gabbie did and deleted all my socials "cold turkey" and now I engage with social media in a much healthier way. I think removing it completely for a while can be helpful to build better habits when you start to reintroduce it to your life, because it's like you're starting with a blank slate again. It's easier to work with that than trying to dismantle the bad habits while still engaging with the subject.

After getting home from the hospital, he was meant to be taking care of her, and attacked while she was still out of it. Gabbie didn’t help him plan it. In fact, they didn’t even know each other that well at the time. The reason Jessi stopped being friends with Gabbie is because of what happened after the fact. It started when Gabbie decided to attend a party which Curtis was also at, taking pictures with him. This was not even a week after telling Jessi that Curtis was dead to her, and that she’d never associate herself with him again. In response to Jessi saying that it hurt her, seeing those photos, she said, “It’s not like everyone else at the party r*ped you.” Then, because Jessi rightfully took a break from her, Gabbie started calling her a liar over twitter and voicing her support for Curtis. Keep in mind, her support for him came after the leaked confession to police that he did, in fact, assault Jessi. You are so right about people out there having to give up their dreams for reality! I used to play the violin all throughout high school and I loved it so much! I would practice every day for hours because it gave me so much joy! I even worked hard enough where I was able to play some pieces alongside the University symphony in my small town and take some lessons from the music professor at the University. Before I graduated high school and before the pandemic hit, the professor offered me a half scholarship for music, which I was really excited for, but unfortunately I had to give up my dream due to the fact that the math requirements for that university was crazy high (I really suck at math), and because my family needed me to take on a different educational path to make more money to help support them. I didn't play the violin for 5 years after that, and when I started playing it again this year, I only had time to practice one day every other week due to the workload of my school. Gabbie Hanna was able to keep her dreams and have a career where she gets to do the things she loves, which I am so jealous of, and yet she still complains! She needs to realize the privilege she has and that people would give anything to continue to pursue their dreams and maybe get paid for it!

You can get started recording pretty cheap tbh. Sm57s are like $100, a scarlett solo is $100ish (I think $110 or $120 but don't remember), reaper is a free DAW, and you can run this stuff off any computer. Reaper comes with tons of plugins built in so you don't need to buy any. $200 ish to be able to start recording with good quality is nothing. You'll find recording takes a ton of time to do well though.

I love how she didn't even talk about all the weird stuff she was doing before she went offline for a year. She was manic and making absolutely no sense on Tik Tok, I dont know if it was drugs or mental illness. She Livestreamed for like 3 days straight dancing around her home and a male viewer actually WENT TO HER HOUSE AND WENT INSIDE. I think it was both. (Mental illness and drugs) Cinnamontoastken mentioned he had seen friends go overboard on the 😈🥬 and it led to something akin to a psychotic break. I think her being so hyper-focused on her image online pushed her over an edge and every method to climb back up (using drugs to relax, digging her head in the sand to keep working and hope everyone just forgot.) And when she hit rock bottom, no one was there to catch her. People tried calling wellness on her, and she blew up online, saying, "I'M FINE! Why would you do that?" But it was a perceived attack in her mind, and it made the spiral worse.

I’ve been using it since 2009! I think the reason I still like it is because I still treat it like what it was originally: micro-blogging. I have it more as a personal journal. I may hang out on a Trend if I know something about it and leave a reply if I’m compelled. But if you hang out on the “trash side of Twitter” then yeah it sucks. It has filters, and the algorithm is just as good about it feeding you what it thinks you’re interested in. I go there for science, aviation, literature, and history topics.
