This channel should have so much more traffic imo. So relaxing. Beautiful scenery. Serene. Oh my. I’ve always wanted to go there... but I’m too lazy to trek. Not really 😂 maybe when I was younger, before my heart condition reared it’s ugly head, I would have attempted it! I was 31 when I had a heart attack due to a congenital heart defect. Nothing I did would have prevented it. I was very very active before this occurrence. I hiked, travelled a lot! But never trekked. So awesome that you vlog to give us a chance to go places we can’t go for many reasons! THANK YOU!

Thx for the memories, I remember the strong wind coming up every day after midday between Lethe and Jomsom along the Kali Ghandaki, the largest canyon in the world. It's been almost 50 years that I visited as a 21 year old. I still like to travel, travelling is exhilarating and trekking the Himalayas is amazing. The Annapurna massiv is such a beautiful region, as is the kingdom of Mustang right at the Chinese border. It can be hard to get a permit to visit Mustang being that close to a sensitive border. During my visit the road to Jomsom didn't exist, so I had to walk from Lake Pokhara through the flowering Rhododendren forest at Ghorepanee, past Tatopanee, Tukche, Lethe, Jomsom, Muktinath, Lo Mantang. So beautiful, especially during the month of April when the flowers bloom. Truly unforgettable. Wishing you a great 2022 🕉

You'd want to hope the yaks are non-aggressive. I've seen footage of two yak bulls fighting and they are absolutely as hard, tough, and ruthless as hell when they want to be. One yak bull bullied the other to the ground then deliberately pushed him over the side of a cliff. The one that went over the cliff then walked back up the cliff back to his opponent and went at it again. Then he got pushed off the cliff again lol. They might seem docile, but they can go hard. Really hard.

Hi Gabriel! Actually, Nepal will be part of a 3 month trip I have planned, that includes Jordan, UAE and Turkey too. I might add India to my list. So, as of right now I only plan to trek to Poon Hill (since I'm sort of a beginner) 😂 If that works out fine, I'm going to try Everest Base Camp in November next year. Regardless, I plan to go back to Nepal probably every year since the cost-of-living is good and it seems the people are pleasant. And the way of life there is simple. Happy Travels, and thank you for all your inspirational videos.

Did you know the highest human habitation is 16,100 feet called La Rinconada in the Andes? You went higher than that. That hotel you stopped just before doing the pass would be one of the highest habitations in the world. I think that's what habitation means in this context, a place where humans live permanently.

For trekking in Nepal I just used a map that you can get of the trekking area and the trails, I didn't use any kind of GPS device to navigate. No need to, the trails are pretty straightforward.

Hi Gabriel, I'm thinking of doing either the Poon Hill(Ghorepani) trek or the ABC trek this October. I don't know which one to do though, my stay in Nepal isn't long. Would I miss out on a lot if I did the Poonhill/Ghorepani trek only instead of the ABC trek?
@GabrielTravelerVideos
@GabrielTravelerVideos 6 жыл бұрын
I haven't done the Poon Hill trek but it's much shorter than the ABC, I think you can do it in two days and one night. So it's not nearly the same experience, although the views are supposed to be amazing. It depends on how much time you have as well as whether you have the right equipment. For the ABC you want to allow at least eight days to get up there and back, plus time getting ready in Pokhara (keep in mind that this video is not about the ABC trek, it's about the Annapurna Circuit trek which is different and takes even longer). So if you're short on time then just go for Poon Hill, if you can do the ABC then I would definitely do that.
