Hello Chris and Carol. I also subscribe to your channel. Northern India is phenomenal, I did 4 weeks through there in 2016. Delhi, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Pushkar, Varanasi, Agra. Towering forts, stunning palaces, villages, animals, food, history, culture. I'd be happy to answer any questions.

No it's doesn't the tunnel just connects manali to Lahaul valley. There are many passes after Rohtang pass which still gets blocked in the winter. So you still cannot go to Leh in winter from Manali.

Just got back from a 68 kilometer mountain biking outing with a good ole friend after 14 months of not doing so. It was so good to be back out there with my bud and even took my GoPro to document part of this so I can put a vlog together about Colombia and this.

@GabrielTravelerVideos3 жыл бұрын
After I spent the night in Sonamarg I got out onto the road to try and catch a jeep, because I knew there were shared jeeps that went from Srinigar all the way to Leh. So I was counting on one of them having space. There was a long line of cars and jeeps with passengers waiting for the pass to open up, so I went down the line asking everyone but the jeeps were all full to the brim. Then I came across those two guys in the white car and asked them if they were going to Ladakh and they said yes and offered me a ride. They didn't ask me to pay anything, but when we arrived in Kargil I offered to pay them them what I would have paid for the jeep ride, which was maybe 600 rupees or something, $10.

Hi Gabe-Unrelated to this video, I have a question. Doing the EBC trek, everyone makes their way to Gorakshep then on the same day, they make their way to EBC and back to Gorakshep. Then the following morning they do Kalapathar. That first day seems taxing to me. Is there any reason why you couldn't go to Gorakshep and spend the night then go to EBC the next day and back to Gorakshep for another night and then do Kalapathar the following morning? So spend two nights in Gorakshep instead of one? Thanks.
@GabrielTravelerVideos3 жыл бұрын
I haven't done the EBC trek yet, so I'm not sure about that.
@ronmexico96313 жыл бұрын
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Oh sorry, I thought you had. I'm surprised you haven't.
@bomcdwll3 жыл бұрын
I've done that trek. From what I remember, EBC is not very far from Gorakshep, maybe one hour? So the only downside to your idea would be all the down time on your 2nd day in Gorakshep. When I was there in November 2017 it was WELL below freezing and the accommodations were way more basic than at most elevations. I was glad to only spend one night in Gorakshep.
@ronmexico96313 жыл бұрын
@@bomcdwll Thanks Bo. I think you are correct and it's only an hour or two but that's after your trek to get there....5 hours or something maybe? I think you are probably right as it appears to be just some wooden panels and can be sleepless nights so you get in and out. I am glad you weighed in that you were glad to spend only one night there....it provides insight. Thanks again.

Educate yourself about the place before visiting and traveling through it. That is the least you can do to avoid factual mistakes like writing Kashmir, India in your content. Kashmir is a disputed region from last more than 7 decades, having witnessed tens of thousands of killings, torture, enforced disappearances, mass blinding, and mass rapes. Writing Kashmir, India as your location is tantamount to writing Palestine, Israel and Algeria, France.
