I’ve been enjoying your content for years. Thanks for what you do. I actually saw y’all filming this a couple days ago from across the canal. One thing I’ve always appreciated in your videos Mark, is that you speak the truth and help educate people on the unique aspects of life in the Keys. One minor note of correction. There are two waterfront lots for sale (with full size sea walls) that are less than 599k. #609 is listed at 469k and #84 is 415k. Not trying to nitpick, just keeping it real. Thanks again for the great content.

Yep, I just checked again and you are exactly correct! I checked listings before we shot the video and those did not come up.....I stand corrected and thanks for pointing it out!

Born and raised in the Florida keys and left last year after 40 years and and glad I did….its become over run with people. Sold my three bed 3 bath with a pool in Key West and bought 700 acre ranch in Colorado for the spring and summer and a home in Hilton Head for fall and winter with the profits and it was the best decision I ever made…..The Keys have become an overpriced tourist trap with nothing to do but fish and drink…just my 2 cents and opinion after living there over 40 years.

It is interesting that you have such a different perspective than we do but I understand the frustration with the constant change. Glad you are happy with your new found paradise!

Good luck having any friends or family visit HOA only allows one car per driveway even if there is plenty of room along with a list of other petty rules and regulations

It’s important to do your research before purchasing in any community. Like anything, certain items are more important to some and less to others.

Nothing is reasonable in Keys.......spend a lot of winters there, but now rentals are out of the world......Now.........the government is making it nearly impossible to own, pay insurance, pass all new regulations......false advertising your your part........nothing is reasonable now.

One of the first things I say in the first two minutes of the video is that "everything is expensive in the Keys" affordable here, is a different conversation than it would be in most other areas. For the Keys...this IS affordable.....elsewhere...not so much!

They forgot to tell you that when the first hurricane comes through, you can find your home in Mexico City. You will be able to move it back after fifty feet of seawater drains from the lot. Buying anything in the FL Keys is a fool's game.
@GablesOnTheGo29 күн бұрын
Although I can appreciate your skepticism as we all pay close attention to hurricanes, making a blanket statement like that is a bit near sighted. The park was built in 1970....do you realize how many hurricanes have been through here since then? Does it appear that things are not doing well? I would agree that purchasing something that you can't afford and praying that a hurricane doesn't take it from you...that's a fools game. Purchasing a piece of waterfront ground in the FL Keys with a mobile home on it where the dirt is worth the entire asking price and the home can be replaced for pennies comparably, AND you can actually afford to take that risk for the joy it brings in your life.... Not a fools game. Everything in life is risk vs. reward Jimmy. Some folks coach from the stands and some are in the game....just a matter of perspective. The Florida Keys are not for everyone. But, hey...thanks so much for watching!!

I bet Maui is beautiful. The Keys are nice because you can drive here and there is always a breeze.
