Andy, I have seen seen several of your demonstrations last tutorials. They’re always good, but this one was exceptional, The composition lesson, the value study ( which I know you always do), the explanation of why you changed things around, the exact colors you mixed, which I also know it’s not always crucial but helpful to see an expert and how it done properly. I will save this one, watch it again and again and make notes and try to emulate your wonderful wonderful artistry . Thank you for sharing your expertise.

So grateful to be able to watch this masterclass 🌟 Though when comparing 17:21 and 18:45, I felt the final details made the painting slightly too "busy" and some of its initial freshness was lost.

Why you stop your value study, when you have painted the mid tones in and put the darks later, after you were in the same point with your colour picture?
@TucsonArtAcademyOnline3 ай бұрын
He explains that in the first 2 1/2 minutes
@birgitwinkler54953 ай бұрын
@@TucsonArtAcademyOnline i have watched the video very attentive, but sorry, I don’t understand it. What is the advantage of stopping the value study with midtones, and after he’s at this step in the coloured picture, put the darks into the value study. May be i must take a life course with Andy Evansen to check the reason.

@@birgitwinkler5495 Let me ask you a question. In your opinion roughly how many values should you have a form to make it come alive?
@birgitwinkler54953 ай бұрын
@@TucsonArtAcademyOnline i think mainly three: light medium, dark
@TucsonArtAcademyOnline3 ай бұрын
@@birgitwinkler5495Yes three to four. That is what he clearly explained in the video.
