*For all those who have problems with the Sphere Mask* : check that the position of the Transform 1 Particle System is in the coordinates 0; 0; 0. And the position of the Particle System with Sphere Mask should also be at 0; 0; 0. I stupidly searched for a very long time for a solution to the problem. Perhaps you have the same problems.

Just a quick tip: hexagon shields are associated more with sci-fi than fantasy. It looks out of place with your fantasy warlock. It's a cool effect, and could work well for blaster fire or something, but for your warlock, maybe consider a more organic / swirly shield shape. Maybe use a voronoi pattern or something?

When I separate to lose parts, do i export that as fbx? The Particle System won't let me use a mesh unless its all conntected. I wish you could show us the texture that you used in Shader Graph and compare to the one you showed in detail? Did you remove black background, it looks like the shapes were filled with a dark gray as well. I think you skipped over quite a bit.

I ran into another problem ... At min 3:03 you add the mash we have created. But the mesh i created (i think i did the same as u did) is not 1 mesh but 162 small meshes for every Hexagon or Pentagon one Mesh. Can you tell me what i have to do here?

The design in my head currently is sort of Tron, blocky design with neon edges. Now I know in such thing I could texture the edges to be emissive, but that is very ineffecient if there are shaders. So .. how to detect edges with shader graph? Basically anything with vertex manipulation and detection and shader graphs :) Appreciate it whenever it comes out if its a good idea...

so i have done the shield more or less but how did u do the picture at 2:47. I have create one where the back is black and one where it is transparent but on both it is looking very weird and not like yours in the shield. Cause when i have it transparent it colors the Fresnal Color does like nothing and only the Color changes something, and when i use one with black background it is just black at the back so u can see through it

The first time you unwrap it, erase the UV maps. Then, unwrap again and you get the pentagons and hexagons.

I want to try this. But I tried a simple tutorial by Brackeys on Lightweight Render Pipeline and for some reason it randomly went purple and everything messed up. I could just be changing a simple value like 0.3 to 0.4 and suddenly it broke, or some other part stopped responding and it pretty much the whole thing broke multiple times. Even when I tried to carefully do every step. It just wouldn't work like running an old game without compatibility options on. Anything and everything just broke down for me at any step :/

Make sure you create an empty project with Unity Hub. You can choose to start with HDRP or LWRP. It will be much easier and very unlikely to "broke". Good luck.

Very very nice tutorial, indeed!! But I'm having a problem with the Sphere Mask in ShaderGraph: whatever I do, the ripples mesh is always displayed, like the Sphere Mask is not working. Do I need to import the UV mapping texture with any kind of special format? Alpha Source/Transparency? Also, the AlphaClipThreshold of the Unlit Master node should be controlled? I'm totally stucked!!

He is using version 2019.1.1f1. I made this shader in 2019.1.2f1. But in 2019.2.4f1 the sphere mask no longer works. Unfortunately.

Seems to work in 2019.3 again, just had to mess around with the settings a lot, set the hardness to 0 and radius to 1 to start off with and vary the position to see if you can get anything to show up. And remember to turn on two-sided! Owh and set the alphaclipthreshold to 0.5!!
