Fahrenheit to Celsius Conversions for the baths 102/103 F(normal hot tub) --> 39 °C 104 --> 40 °C 107 --> 41.67(about 42) °C for reference, the miette hot springs(in the jasper park) have 40 °C and 37 °C pools

You should make a video on weight cutting for amateurs having same-day weigh ins. Would love to hear you on this topic as I haven't seen someone cover this yet

I cut from 225lbs to 206.6lbs using hot bath water with salt for 3 hours. It destroys your brain and blood pressure 😂. If you get out the tub to fast you will passout. The day of my fight i couldnt remember my techniques, my cardio was cut in half and your speed is depleted. The sauna suite i got it done in with a mile jog with no pain or brain damage in 45 minutes with 15lbs gone😤💪🏾

Late to this, but I find everyone's body reacts different. I always do hot bath. Each time I've done sauna or sauna suit I feel like I'm gonna die and have a rough cut. But other people swear against hotbath

I just cut from 170 to 145 for my first kickboxing match. Followed the process and it worked out but was tough. Hopefully this video has more insights to help the cut be easier next time around! (Next fight is September 2nd) starting to diet this week)

@@kevinm.4559 I went on a almost full keto diet and put myself through a calorie deficit for about 6 weeks before the fight and did a lot of cardio to burn extra calories. By fight week I was 160 and once I finished water loading I got down to 156 and weighed in at 146.5 the day before the fight using a sauna suit and hot bath, The day of the fight I weighed 167. This was June 3rd I ended up getting a first round finish but I did feel weaker although I was stronger than my opponent I felt weaker than usual.

I Will say I got a few rough cramps just from trying to talk the day I cut all the weight there’s a video of Uriah Faber explaining the exact pain, idk how to avoid it other than not cutting but maybe there are ways around that. Like not moving too fast and maybe not cutting so much in such a short time maybe space it out idk yet still learning!

Weight cutting is going against everything the original UFC was supposed to be. A martial artist vs martial artist and may the better man win. A 230 pound man like Pereira who weighted 185 pounds 2 minutes out of 365 days, made a mockery of what should have been a test of skill not sanctioned cheating. Crocop was fighting at 220 as a HW and people like Pereira and Costa are at least the same size, if not bigger, and they fight 2 categories below. The same problem has been in boxing, kickboxing, every sport where there's a weigh-in. The weigh-in should be an hour before the fight. If you're more than 5 pounds than the weight class you're supposed to fight in, which would allow for fight day fluctuations, you get an immediate DQ loss. The sport would be better, the fights would be better, the fighters would be healthier and a 185 pound fighter (someone who now masquerades as a LW or FW) would the 185 champ, not a HW.

Very interesting video, but sounds awful having to cut weight like that. Btw, I’m looking forward to a rematch with Skrivers. I personally think you won the last round. He didn’t do much other than the takedowns and you score a very good knockdown. I expect if you add some grappling to your arsenal, you will dominate the next fight.

I used to jog with a ski jacket and and 4 hoodies. It was so hard and i had no energy. Sauna is also way to demanding on my body. Then i discovered hot baths and its the best way imo. Water Hot as possible and a lot of salt, then 2 mins in and 2 mins break 5 mins in 5 mins break 10 min in 10 mins break Max 10 mins Always put on a bath robe to sweat extra. I also bring a towel soked with cold water to put on my head, if it's to hot. When I made the weight, I go take a cold shower to cool my body.

I am going to put this out for anyone to read as I responded to one subcribers comment - and not sure how many will see it and it is an important observation You and others may well really dislike my comment as I would suggest to you what you are doing is not really that good for you health aspect wise and/or the whole concept of fighters feeling they need to cut that much weight to compete in a weight class that is just so far below where they should be, to me kind of defeats the whole purpose of doing martial arts. We train hard and then are brave enough to actually get in the ring and fight. You can do martial arts your whole life, as many have - but never pony up and get in the ring to face an equally prepared and skilled opponent. Just my opinion and I could be wrong..... BUT - trying to get that much of a size advantage over an opponent is kind of like being the school yard bully looking for a smaller weaker kid to beat up on. Challenge yourself by being the same size and weight as your opponent and leave it down to skill level and not a 10 - 15 lb advantage in the ring. There are many studies on excesive weight loss and no matter what anyone tells you, being your size and dropping 25 lbs is excessive / unhealthy weight loss. As I stated just my opinion and I may well offend a bunch of people out there - but after doing this sport for close to 60 years now I have seen a lot of people suffer in the long term from things they did when they were young and thought they were immune to the adverse affects of things. I agree, but especially in mma, as a professional, you have to cut weight. Your earnings depend on your performance and wrestling with a skilled opponent, which happens to be a little heavier and makes a world of difference. I also hate it, but thats what it is

@@meroslav239 Understandable. There’s also a difference in body frame and height. Being 5’7” myself, I’d have to compete at Flyweight or Featherweight, despite my natural weight being 140-150. Definitely don’t want to trade blows with Micheal Chandler or wrestle with Islam who walk around at 180+ 😂 But I guess my point is, is it possible to just get to your fighting weight and keep it as close to that weight year round or would you starve and be miserable? I don’t compete yet so idk
