Why would the victor teach their enemies about their greatest weapons? If I were the human leaders in this story, my enemies would never learn my secrets of how I beat them. Yes I would help them to rebuild, but my best weapons would be kept secret forever from them.
@oldnotweak8 күн бұрын
yeah thats a recipe for hell and death, you dont arm your enemies, you may share lesser weapons their grand kids... but not the enemies you beat
@TexasSpectre3 күн бұрын
One possibility is that they are no longer their greatest weapons. The fleet would have had to be feature frozen at some point so it could be mass produced to a unified standard, which would have taken time. Research and development would still have continued and more advanced weapons and defenses would have been developed and put in production for the next wave of production. Same thing happened in our actual history; after WW2 ended, the Allies handed over a whole bunch of US and British weapons and knowhow to the Italians and later the Germans and Japanese. The fearsome P-38 Lightning that had handed out so much punishment to Axis forces? Yeah, we gave a bunch of them to Italy who started flying them less than a year after the war ended. The US didn't care because we had the P-80 Shooting Star and even better craft in the pipeline. Same thing with Japan - the US gave Japan the very same TBF Avengers that had absolutely shredded the Imperial Japanese Navy and they were flying those within less than a decade after the end of the war. The US didn't care because by then, there was no way that those formerly devastating aircraft were going to pose a threat to a 1950s carrier battle group. At all. Knowing how to build the weapon that defeated them was not going to do them a whole lot of good when we had newer weapons that would easily defeat the older ones in turn.

@@TexasSpectrethat is a very informed and logical response. I must give it to you! It is always a game of “leveling up” type thinking. Act as though you are bringing them up to your level for peaceful diplomatic relations; however, on the other side, have much more powerful technology up your sleeve. Never show your hand until you have to.

Good story but very optimistic. I agree though, that the defeated should never learn the science of the defeaters until at least a couple of generations of peaceful cooperation had occurred.

The story was not good but ok, although in some sections the same point was made repeatedly. The narration by AI voice made enough mistakes to be irritating, the same is true for the subtitles. In all this was not an enjoyable experience because of a lack of quality control. I will probably try again in a few months to see if the quality has improved by then, but for now I have had enough.

This story started well, had things roughing out nicely…You had a main character, Admiral Stone, you had a good secondary, his daughter, both of them wanting revenge for losing their mother, then suddenly, we have a new “main character” and no mention of the original characters. The second part, almost seemed like it was a chance to throw a woman main character into the story, when you already had one. Further, you had the humans saying “no surrender, no mercy…” no surrender, no mercy means that there is “no surrender and NO MERCY”….that means, there is no reason to care about Civilian casualties, etc… I’m not saying you should have had the story and the characters slaughter civilians, but perhaps you should have changed the “no surrender and no mercy”, to something else? Also, why would the aliens have given earth 5 years? that doesn’t make any sense either. Perhaps you could have put in their initial communications “stay in your own system” or something like that. As I said, I was initially liking this story, but when you brought “admiral Wilson” into the mix, you started losing me. Do better next time. Stop worrying about making a statement with a woman Admiral, unless she’s the main character initially, and try and build your story from the start, as you did initially… It would have been VERY good if you had ADMIRAL STONE take command of the main fleet, with his daughter being posted to his ship. When the initial wave of fighters were sent in, you should have had his daughter in that initial wave, and focused on her experiences as she attacked. Or, even better, had her part of one of the initial assaults, and doing the same thing…getting revenge for her lost mother. I really wish these stories would stop trying to introduce woke crap into the stories and just focus on the stories, but I’m not sure if that’s possible. Hopefully next time, you’ll think things through and make the story for what it is. A Story.
