Kind of expected the matchup to turn out this way. How does the galaxy do against other intel/windows books in this range? I thought that a competitor to the Apple silicon was supposed to be in the pipeline two years ago, but I haven't seen anything, that isn't extremely overpowered, even attempt to take on the lowest performing Apple silicon books.

I'll keep this short...I love, love, LOVE this tablet. kzbin.infoUgkxLNmVocUk8tnSkwWIlYSNFzWRIaFTBuzS The picture quality is amazing and there are so many features that this technodino can't wait to learn! My only (very, very minor) complaint is that I ordered this in bronze and they sent me black. Yes, it should have been corrected, but we were only in country for a short period of time and I didn't want to run the risk of not getting a new one in time. I'm such a fan of Samsung Galaxy tablets that I'd rather suck it up than lose out on having it. In the big scheme of things, this rates an irritant factor of .0000000001 out of 1000. In other words, I'm not looking at the colors when I use it, so I got over it very easily.

It is not a better panel. 120 percent coverage of DCI P3 isnt good if the panel is only 8 bit, youll still see artifacts and banding in gradients. The Apple panel is brighter, better for hdr, is actually true 10 bit, and is far more color accurate for HDR grading. Again, above 100 percent DCI P3 isnt good if the panel cant actually display the full range of colors. 10 bit is much needed for color work.

Battery life is far better. It's just that you need to spend few days with the laptop and then it will show you the actual runtime on battery after it learns the discharge pattern like any other new windows laptop. Faced same initially but my boo2 pro average battery life is 8+hrs with 50% brightness that's more than enough for me. Since the display resolution is too high for gaming I'd switch to 1080p while gaming like any other laptop.

I'd definitely go with my macbook for battery life while video editing. However that Pro 360 looks genuinely tempting because of the included touchscreen and s-pen, and the price is right with a promotion of just north of $1300 for a 1TB/16GB option. Touch Screen is important me to at times. I got this new model and I love it!!! I am just a normal user, so maxing out performance doesn't really come into play for me, as this lapto will perform with no issues what so ever. As far as the speakers go, did you change it to Dolby Atmos? The Book pro 3 is beautiful in beige color, modern/sleek build, I see no finger prints, the screen is gorgeous!! What sets this apart is the touch screen capability and the S pen is the best out there. The pen is so light and very slick. Also you don't have to plug in the pen to charge. These things may not be a big deal to some, but wanted to share what was important to me. If the screen dimmed, more than likely it is a setting you have checked that is making it so. I have mine on dynamic, used for a few hours striaght and no dimming. Also, I didn't have it plugged in.

LCD displays are now as good as OLED as they can reach higher brightness and better battery consumption. Also, the screen reflections on OLED washes the blacks to grey. Add, the OLED has to dim when a white background is used for a little while due to that consuming more battery than LCD. Also a 1080p OLED is not as good as a 1080p LCD due to the pixel arrangement in OLEDS. Apple refused to use OLEDs for these reasons and that they do not last as long as Apple expects them. Apple has developed their own dual panel OLED which Samsung and LG will manufacture for them later this year. They will have twice the max brightness and their lifespan will be >2X what is on this Samsung. They will also not have the mirror-like screens that Samsung uses (to save money I suspect).

It is noticeable that the speedometer test is not fair: the Mac uses Safari with the webkit engine, while the Samsung uses Edge with chromium. Another important topic that was never covered is the fact that he compares two different architectures, the x86 and an ARM inspired one, computationally the way they work differs. Finally, Mac can achieve better results in his tests, but what about adding compatibility tests in your test suit. Or even adding more tasks that other professions use, like engineering, programming, and audio processing? If you just get a subset of what a machine is capable of, it is hard to tell which one is better than the other.

I like the Mac's color accuracy across the brightness levels, but let's be honest there is no way a regular LCD screen can have deep dark blacks compared to OLED. I watch videos on my OLED phone and LCD iPad both and the iPad's LCD is still glowing and looks kinda gray compared to the OLED on my phone being completely dark when showing blacks and dark shadows. Other than the LCD screen glow, I enjoy Apple's displays but I like the LED displays for watching movies.

Interesting on the difference between performance plugged in and on battery on the new Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360. I have the Samsung Galaxy Book 360 Pro with the 11th gen i7, and get about the same performance scores on battery and plugged in. Also with the battery life measurement. Not sure if it's just this model Samsung, but I've noticed on my Galaxy Book 360 pro, it will say like 2 hours 30 minutes, and then after 10 minutes it will jump to 7 hours and randomly change. Not sure why though, but did a self test on my old Samsung laptop, ran a 24 hour youtube video and got about 9 hours on high performance and brightness maxed out before the laptop shutoff.

The battery is not the same for the Galaxy Book3 though because mainly of the display resolution and display size. You will see a huge reduce in battery life compares to the Galaxy Book 1 and 2 gens simply because of that. I would estimate a 6 hour battery life doing the same thing on your current laptop. @@GreeKing83 The M2 MacBook Air will reach at least 18 hours if all you do is stream KZbin video (like the test you mentioned above). You don't need to set power mode or anything on the MacBook.
