The prices mentioned in this review were actually the presale prices, the official pricing for the Galaxy E5 is 15,750-20,750 USD. Those prices are even cheaper than the BYD Yuan Plus!

They must not make any money off these in the Chinese market if we here in Australia and the EU, UK pay nearly double the cost. Granted they seem worth what they charge here, but still. Have. BYD Seal Performance and paid $75k Australian which is 3 times the Chinese price. Craziness!

@@Audios81 $75k AUD is 49k USD. I don't know exactly how much Seal Performance costs in China, but I'm pretty sure it is a lot higher than 16k USD! Even the E5 in this review costs 22k USD.

@@Audios81 In fact, in China, Geely's sales performance is better than BYD's. However, BYD's marketing is more outstanding in international markets. It is worth noting that Geely is the parent company of Volvo Cars and Lotus. It is also the largest shareholder of Daimler Group. Although it is a private company, it has significant support from the Chinese government.

@@Audios81 In fact, these companies make a profit from selling cars in China because almost everything in the car can be sourced within China. For example, with a BMW or Audi, some components come from Germany, while others come from the Czech Republic or other countries, leading to higher transportation costs and more complex communication between parts suppliers. However, these issues don't exist in China, which is a major reason why Chinese cars can be so affordable. A closed-loop supply chain is crucial for this.

I bought meizu blue charm note 6/M6 note as a secondary phone in 2017 and loved it more than my regular phone & the flyme system was really good especially the game mode was top notch. Glad geely Didn't let the brand die.

Awesome review, i love your work. But I can't believe that you didn't mention the single most incredible thing about this car. The short blade battery runs for 1 million kms without any significant loss of range! That's insane. At this price it's a game changer. Imagine how important that would be for businesses. A taxi that will run for 1 million kms without any major costs!!! Its incredible. Its the single most important thing about this car.

This is just the manufacturer's propaganda, the manufacturer's test environment will be relatively detached from reality, and the actual performance still needs to be verified.

​​@@chjin1796Even if you discount 30%, 700 thousand km is more than enough. BTW, BYD e6 is used for taxi in Indonesia and after 650 thousand Km it sill runs smoothly😅. I bought BYD Seal because I am convinced with BYD quality based on my conversation with BYD taxi drivers.

Great review! I bought it one moht ago, i didn't know about the drawer in the back, thank you! I think you forgot to mention you can control most of the functions with voice commands, very helpful and safer than be clicking on the screen while driving.

I bought my Atto 3 over 2 years ago, and while it's a great car the simple reality is that all Chinese EVs have improved greatly since then (except for ADAS). I am waiting for more advanced batteries to be available before upgrading.

The performance of self-developed ADAS for China's high-end cars is beyond your imagination. But it may not be possible to buy these cars in your country. And the ADAS of low-cost cars mostly uses modules from traditional Western companies.

nice!! Looks like Geely is coming right behind BYD! I hope Chinese EVs flood the world with good value, and especially here in Southeast Asia soon! Toyota, you were good but....should embrace change. Thanks for improving camera depth of field, it is wider now except for one camera. However, interior is overexposed . you should expose for the car interior than speaker since he is wearing sunglasses anyway.

As an Atto 3 owner, I am looking at this car as a possible alternative when I replace mine next year. Have really enjoyed the Atto 3 - not so keen on the interior - but this Geely really looks great. I wonder when it will be available here in Australia? Thanks for the review as always.

I very like your reviews. I am living in Thailand where Chinese EVs are the only available options. I would like, when you also can do headlight tests. We own a BYD Dolphin and an Atto 3 and both have not great headlights compared to our former Mazda cars.

Are these huge infotainment screens really necessary? I'd prefer something more compact with the emphasis on intelligent layout and design with ease of searching and navigation of the functions you need. It would help if the more essential functions were accessible by physical switches and knobs too.

@@keangwooichoo6138 We in Israel have the Geely Geometric. It's an amazing and fast car. It has a huge battery and a better driving range than Tesla and all other electric vehicle manufacturers. It's a shame that the Geely company didn't understand that the Geometric should have been sold to the whole world.

The interior most impressive , the tec has arrived 3 yrs after the atto3 , but oh that bland body styling 😢💤😝 could be a 2017 model release which is a shame as you have to live with it . If BYD upgrade the 3 in certain places they will be better off than trying to have a price war with 2021 spec , so I see a decent upgrade sometimes latter 2025 reinforcing there capture of the newish and future EV market buyers . Always enjoy your rundown/speil, keep it up 👍

I would choose Atto3 / Yuan plus anytime than this E5. Simply bcos E5 looks almost exactly like a Porsche cayenne and it has no character in that aspect. As if they are immitating the porsche. Yuan plus / Atto 3 simply has character, more rugged look, stronger brand name and more manly than this E5
