Galaxy TAB S7/S7+: How to Fix Black Screen (5 Easy Fixes)

I show you how to fix a black screen issue on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 or S7 Plus. Basically the screen is black, the display or screen just won't turn on but you know the Tab itself is on from seeing LED lights or sounds coming out of it. OMG!!! It worked. I tried the holding power and volume down it did NOT work alone. But I didn't give up, thanks for cheering us on to keep trying. After doing the tapping... still nothing. I did the slapping while plugged in. And guess WHAT? The battery light showed up indicating 100%. I think pressed and it worked. Thank you so sooooo MUCH! Your a life SAVER. I have a NYE gig as a musician and didn't know what I was going to do without my tablet for lyrics. I work as a solo act. Thank YOU SO MUCH!

THANKS A LOT !! I desperately sat down on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ and the screen was bent on both sides, but did not crack. The screen went dark and became black, but the sound came and was detected when connected to the PC. I placed it on a flat table, took a silk cloth and began to level the screen with my fist, pressing it as much as possible against the tablet. Everything worked! Thank you very much !

Thanks a lot! The first step you showed worked for me. I knew it wasn't dead because it made the beeping sound when I plugged it in and it was still making notification sounds. But the forced restart did the trick. I use my tablet a lot, so it was not fun worrying that it was broken.

I've been watching your videos and I can say you really help me with my tablet issues before. Unfortunately, the tutorial now won't let me fix my black screen issue. I tried to bring the tablet in Samsung CS but they charged me for almost $290 for the screen replacement. I tried to find other technicians but they don't have a stock of the LCD. I'm looking online for the LCD replacement and I stumbled upon a post where it says I didn't have to change the "whole" LCD itself. My tablet's touch function is still working although I really can't see anything due to the black screen. My question is, do I have to buy the touch and lcd thing OR can I just buy the Black Tablet Outer Glass Screen?

I'm wondering, is this just a memory or system problem that I can ignore and not worry about having to purchase a replacement tablet? 1. Forcing Restart didn't help 2. Plug in charge - it make some vibration, but screen is still black 3. Taping didn't help 4. Suddenly massage really helps! 5. You know what, this "Slap method" also helps...

Longer story: first had this problem early in COVID - took S7 tablet to a repair guy who took it apart, put it back together and gave it back to me saying "it works" for $300. Of course it kept happening. Followed your advice and fixed it. Just wanted to share what the cause is in my situation: any case that has anything anywhere near the volume up/down buttons will eventually trigger the screen flicker/ black screen phenomenon. Lately, I was tempted by a new case BUT again, after a week of being ok, flashes and black. I did your fix and went back to my older bulky case that is ok because there is a big cutout around the volume buttons. I'm just leaving this here in case it helps someone. Again, your video is so helpful, especially the encouragement to KEEP holding the buttons down and just wait.

I was very sceptical to say the least but I began to try your techniques. I'm have dropped or knocked it, it just flashed very briefly and went blank with a bright line at top of my screen. Slowly I followed your guild and I was a combination of massaging the screen and slapping the tablet on my hand. Thx I was very surprised when it came on. Holy hell, smacking it around actually works. my Tab S7+ has had issues charging lately, it'd charge for about a second, then stop charging for a few seconds. I basically can't charge it while it's on because it drains faster than it can charge. After going one round of tapping and then smacking it still didn't turn on so I looked around for any other tips, but everyone else just says check your charger/cable so I gave up. A few minutes later I figured what the hell and tried tapping then smacking again and it actually started up. It seems like it might actually be charging okay now too, we'll see how long that lasts. Thanks!

I’ve noticed occasionally that when I attach the keyboard half of the cover, it’s gone to black and didn’t want to come back up until I removed the keyboard, but today it didn’t want to come back up at all. Only way I could tell it was still operating was I could hear voice command waking up when I held down the lock button, and I spent all day trying to use that to get it to reset.

In my case it was the SPEN that rescued me! After the soft restart (pressing power button with the volume down button) I could see the home screen turned on after the Samsung logo, but could not use biometrics method or sweeping to unlock before the screen turns back to black. So, before going the screen goes black I had a few seconds and I used the SPEN to swipe and and tap on the screen to keep the screen activated. This way I could log in again! Sorry for not giving thumbs up or down, just wanted to share my experience and hopefully also help out others, in combination with your methods!

THANK YOU!!! My screen was flashing on and off rapidly. Did re-start a few times, eventually no more flashing, just black screen so I couldn't access any controls (and the hard restart was not helping". S-pen at least let me see my screen! Great!

My tab s7 battery died so I plugged it in to a S.O.L charger, even though the charger kept turning the tablet charging screen on and off. I plugged it in to the original charger it started to flicker on and off and shut down but you fixed it.
