Tommen’s death is probably my favorite death scene in the entire series. Just how empty it felt. And you could just feel exactly what Tommen felt. Then he just did it. No words. No buildup. No extravagant movements. He just walks up to the window and walks off the ledge without a hesitation.

I felt the same about Harry Potter. I read every book past book 3 before the movies came out. I went to the midnight releases of many of those movies. And I went to midnight bookstore sellings of the books. The energy was amazing. The hype was real. It felt like I had electricity running through my veins. Far less dark and more child friendly than GoTs but the magic was there. It was a great time. I got to see Game of Thrones during its initial release and remember the hype, but I didn’t get into the books until later. I think what made the HP experience a bit more great for me was that I was at just the right age group. And I used to daydream what it would be like to live in that world. What house I would be in, what subjects I wanted to learn most, what kind of job I could get. The world was so awesome that I spent so much time fantasizing about being there. While I like to think about the GoTS world in the sense of theories of what might be to come or interesting lore, I definitely DON’T fantasize about actually living in that world 😂

First rule of making an awesome season finale: slowly start off with a SPECTACULAR EXPLOSION! Cersei’s smirk and other nonverbals pretty much said “THAT’S BETTER.”Tommen saw his mom's true colors. Thanks to him, the city is now appropriately named King's Landing. Music was phenomenal! Another mega hit episode by M. Sapochnik! In Tyrion and Dany scene, it was a nice follow up on “it’s hard to be a cynic after that.” Before you begin Season 7, you should rewatch that Season 1 scene with King Robert and Cersei. Revenge for the Red Wedding Part One! It was agonizing to wait three years for that! Lucky you

Not really, I think it was a bit of jealousy showing itself, not of concern for his future, but for west she sits in all of this. I think to an extent she feels entitled to the position because she was the reason for winning the north back. In that moment she was happy to have her home back, and the Starks at the top, she then realizes Jon is getting all the attention and admiration when really it should be her. I think that’s why she goes from smiling to straight faced.

I love learning about music in film and TV, and the music at the beginning is extremely striking for a reason. Usually the music is meant to just support the emotions of the scene, but the composer made it obviously jarring (but absolutely stunning) here. It's the first time in 6 seasons that the piano is used- something out of place for this time period/style. It's SYMBOLIC (eeeyyy symbolisms) of the new era about to come in- the era of Cersei as queen.

A lot of information from this episode. Tommen felt inspired to give his personal rendition of 'King's Landing'. Davos gave us an incredible heartfelt scene sharing his pain when grieving for Shireen. Arya using her new skillset for revenge on Lord Walder Frey with a callback to Brandon's story of the Lord eating his own children. Tyrion becomes Hand of the Queen. We find out Ned Stark was never unfaithful to Catelyn. He was only protecting his nephew from Robert Baratheon. Jon Snow - The King in the North! Cersei's revenge brings death to so many. Jamie comes back to find Cersei used wildfire to do it. He once killed his King for wanting to use wildfire in the city.

One really cool thing is that if you go back to the first episode of this season, Cersei's first scene is her looking across at the sept. The moment here where she walks away after watching it blow up is such a great bookend to that first appearance. One of the many sad things about Tommen's suicide is that it was over a woman who wasn't in love with him. (Though it would have been uncomfortable and weird if Margaery had been, given that he's a child.) My only critique of the epic final scene is that I wish they had more clearly shown the Tyrell ships. If you have a huge TV you can make out the Tyrell sigil on a couple of flags, but other viewers can't.
