Although I find it hard to believe (your level of approval making certain bodily liquids more plentiful/ prodigious), I do agree that TOTGH is one of the best conspiracy theorists channels out there! These guys have the most thorough analysis/research, as well as well-articulared ideas/theories of ANY channel out there! I especially enjoy the dude/gal narration interplay, as it gives a sense of knowledgeable background thst might otherwise be missing. If this is true, this would mean that Cersei, Jaime, Tyrion (and pretty much the entirety of the current House Lannister), Brienne, Hodor and a few other unnamed people (descendants of Nan's daughters) are all related... Jeez... that's a lot of cousins. Not to mention, this gives a new meaning to Jaime's comments to Brienne in Season 4 when they're discussing Sansa. Haha XD "Are you sure we're not related ? Pretty sure Bran being used as a nickname for Brandon Stark seems to suggest Lan is short for Landon. Long story short, Stark is not a real title, it's someone who's been stripped of title or made stark. So Lan and Bran could have very well been brothers and probably were considering that the Bran we see today has two brothers.

The house symbolism and the matching of the details AL makes sense, I always thought of her as the symbolic black widow and Weaver of tales and stories. That's awesome if she's lady rowanne from the dunk and egg novels, meaning she was beautiful in her youth. Seems she has blood of the Giants and cotf too, excellent finds, and video!!

I'm convinced. I had previously thought Old Nan was the girl with the scarred back, but this makes so much more sense when you lay it out. That's the other thing that is so impressive about your theories. Most channels propose theories and loosely tie in a thing or two if at all. You reference so much text to backup your thoughts and then layout a wonderful roadmap to your goal. Wonderful work! I am very excited for what you have coming with BloodRaven and also the CotF with Tony in the works. I was just watching one of Tony's last live streams and he has such strong feelings on some theories I would love to be a fly on the wall when you guys get together. I would love to see a live Q&A with you and him to accompany your CotF videos your putting together. Well done, but I'm surprised you left out Bran's vision of "A slim young woman kissing a knight as tall as Hodor" under the Winterfell weirwood...most people who propose this theory start with that. Also I think Old Nan "doing her needlework" is a lovely callback to Arya and her needlework, and the idea that Rohanne was a skilled archer and "unladylike".

I always thought that it was Brienne who was a descendant of Dunk, but he traveled all over the place so it's possible that both her and Hodor are related to him. I always thought that Hodor had descendants from further up north which is why Osha says something about him being related to giants. I honestly think that we have yet to see the 4th installment of Dunk and Egg because it gives away something involving where we currently are in the story. I cannot wait to hear your Bloodraven theories! He seems to glamour himself in the 3rd Dunk and Egg story which makes me think of Melisandre. He's connected to both the ice and fire sides of the story which makes me think he's very important in the long run.

From the first time i read the ending of Dunk and Rohanne's story I believed that he got more than a braid of her hair. It seems very likely the ending that was meant to happen. Look at the circumstances: she meets him in an empty stable, she makes overtures of love unable to be fulfilled, she wants to give him a horse that is red just like her and it is obviously a beauty and a prized "sexy" beast, she does not even try to stop him from kissing her, then there is Dunk's dream of her naked, and finally when he meets Egg to leave it is clearly several hours later. That is a setup for a hook-up by any way you slice it.

Adrian Brooks I don't think it's that simple actually. I read several months ago that GRRM actually completely stopped SWoW because he kept on missing his planned deadlines for WoW. I think he was just trying to do too much all at the same time. Like how he's cancelled almost all of his cons and public appearances this year until WoW is done. I don't think that one little D&E novella is completely to blame.

Well, not completely, but if he released one, the publisher would hold a quarter for the next. It's a marketing numbers thing. Especially if he is using different publishers for each. That is generally how it works. Not saying whoever WOW publisher is will not make exceptions since it is extremely anticipated at this point. In any case the SWoW has a projected release date this year according Emergency Awesome. I was trying to find his source though.

Thank you...when Lady Green Hand came to me with this theory about a year ago, I thought it seemed possible so I did a little digging and after about an hour, it was hard to imagine her being anyone but Rohanne...we might try to touch on Brienne (one of his decendants) but she is such a straight forward character it is difficult to come up with a theory worthy of the time it takes to make a video on her

No thank you! It is so hard to find content like this which is actually based on ASOIAF only. Yes when his descendants or possible ones were mentioned to G.R.R.M, he all but said she was one of them. But also there were others throughout the current timeline, I believe five total? And that one would have their own chapters in AFFC which was pretty clear with it being her. It's the others that have me curious. Like I said though no matter what you guys have planned I can't wait to see more, excellent work!

We won't know about Dunk's side of things until he releases a few more Dunk and Egg stories, but the North is one of the places listed in the epilogue of The Mystery Knight as a place where they would have future adventures, it seems like they will end up at Winterfell eventually

I thought I heard mention somewhere along the way that Dunk visited winterfell and would be intertwined with the stories of the she wolves of winterfell. I don't know much about his plans for that story though but that was the first thing that came to mind for me. I could be wrong and don't remember where I saw it. But I love this idea by the way (Rohanne being Nan) it's pretty awesome :) and that would be an extra layer of wtf added into the rivalry between Starks and Lannisters if Tywin's grandma ran off and lived in winterfell all those years! I like it :)

Well presented, and as always, i love your videos, but next to impossible unfortunately. Firstly, Rohanne was about 45 years old when she vanished in or after 230, so she would be most likely be unable to have children with Ser Duncan and, she would be unlikely to be a wetnurse, let alone find employment with a Great House as one. It is possible, but exceedingly unlikely. She and Dunk didn't have children when they met, so there would have been little chance of it later on. For a bit of context, House Tyrell (Specifically Olenna) the Gardner Heirs, (which incidentally, makes them kin to the Starks), reject Cersei out of hand when, after Blackwater, they are offered the opportunity to wed her to their Heir, Willas, and she is in her early 30's. Olenna is convinced that Cersei's change will be happening soon. Certainly, this is possible to be old wives' hogwash, but late pregnancies are not considered common. Even more problematic is the fact that there was nearly no opportunity for Dunk to journey to Winterfell from King's Landing, though he did, it seems, visit once with Aegon, and then once there, raise a family with his true love, since he was a kingsguard, and constantly at court. He died at Summerhall in 259. Even more problematic, is that the Brandon who was Willem Stark's son, was born in or before 226, when Willem died at Long Lake, fighting Raymun Redbeard. This would make said Brandon at least 4 years old, or older, by the time Rohanne Webber arrived at Winterfell. Moreover, in 230, said child must have been at least 4, so House Stark would never have hired her as a wetnurse for him. Further, since this Brandon died of a chill at 3, Rohanne would never have met him, since she disapeared in 230, and this child must have died by 229 at the latest. Unfortunately, as much as I loved your other videos, such as the N + A = J videos, which is very well researched, the facts here just don't match up.

we don't put a lot of stock in the dates in that era...the first Dunk and Egg story has an intro that states the story began 100 years before AGOT began (298 -100 = 198 AC), which would be 2 years before Egg was even born and he's somehow already 8-9 years old

True i think it's likely because of the significance to the story and the shrouded mystery behind it all the George doesn't wanna give much away until the full picture nearly clear for most readers I feel like The Queen of Thorns has alot to do with it personally this event being where and when her title of Queen of Thorns was placed on her for her being upset of not actually marrying into the Targaryen family and the slight I think her acting like she choice against wedding a Targaryen is her trying keep her pride plus all of the kings children's broke there betrothal and married for love so it seems as if regardless of what she says history speaks for itself and she wasn't able to even had she thought marrying a Targaryen wasn't a ridicules notion with their silver hair her nickname to me would make alot of sense had she a major roll in the Summer Hall incident obviously she wouldn't have had the only hand in that I believe her a key member of that conspiracy but yes there really isn't much to go off of I'm just glad I've only been into the Books and Show after season two started instead of upon first book release that's a long time waiting for more material sorry about the rambling

that's what I love about the books especially since George creates several different paths he can go and he himself in somethings I'm sure doesn't quite know what something will end up being while others he's got to have a big picture idea but it's fun to try and puzzle them out and see if your right then you'll find some small piece that makes you realize how off you were and how clear the path is heading now that one more detail is reveled I've read the books out so far three times as well as sample chapters currently on my fourth time around first time I wasn't paying to much attention to details and didn't really know how Martin's writing style was then I saw a video on KZbin not even searching topic Game of Thrones saw a video by Preston Jacob's and I was like wtf there is way more going on then what I read so I did some research on George R R Martin checked out some theory videos to get an idea of things others thought because of the text and went through again paying close attention to details and i was shocked at how much i missed the first time through then after round two i started checking out more fan theory to see if others thought the same as myself if not if there reasonings and explinations helped me see things a different way or if it took or added to my thoughts then again Preston Jacobs comparason of Georges thousand world series and comparisons of his other works and similarities and the idea that its more of a sci fi work then fantasy and how most things viewed as aka magic could be explained by genetics or tech so i thought that makes sense looks like im going to have to clear my head and not let my own pre loaded thoughts or ideas of fantasy effect my view and to picture this as another planatary body where its reality could differ from are own slightly but was real world fudelistic realm and that history is written by the victor not everyone is honest and peoples beliefs are not always based on facts and actions speak as loud as words and can be more telling so i decided on making notes on the characters that moved pieces and the ones being moved looking at cause and effects that are clear but not actually written into the book and paying attention to what wasn't written as much as to what was and all the while having to remember that even though something is written doesn't make it true like the details in a normal book generaly are layed out and that in ASOIAF somethings written might be stretched out while others could be total wrong and based off the pov or subject matter in some cases the characters thoughts or actions on what they thought saw or so on would be complete different opion or train of thought if they'd had known one small detail picked up along by that which they are talking about for instance Viserys and Danny are countlesly stating how so many times they'd barely escaped the usurper hired knives which we know Robert never sent anyone or even really thought much of them after Stanis was unsuccessful in catching them on Dragon Stone until Varys brings word of Danny wedding the Khal which then gets you thinking who's either telling them there being hunted or someone showed up searching for them or is someone actually sending people to simply act like there going to kill them while making sure they get away safely and unhurt but was made to look like the person would've killed them had they not given them the slip scarring the children and so on and my mind was blown The third time through on just how brilliant Martin's work truly is sorry just got new ADHD meds and they have me super chatty and I never punctuat when using my phones keypad which makes things hard to read and follow so after all that I guess I'm simply just trying to say I totally know what you mean on not really finding alot of connections or content creating large revel that can really make a pivetly ground breaking look at summer hall it's complete roll in the story and why it's such a paramount impact on everything aside from it nearly whipping out the Targaryen line with so many members dying in one event the impact it would have on Aerys 2 much and more Harrenhal is a crazy mess links mystery and general speculation and symbolize with Sansa her matriarchal line to even joffery's sword widows wail being named for two of its tower the widows tower and wailing tower I feel like a Harrenhall one would be my second hope to see from you guys But once again sorry about my scatter witted ramblings I'll try not be so annoying with any future post and once again can't wait to see the way you present your Blood Raven video and you guys do a very remarkable job with displaying your evidence and reasons compared to many people out there that post like 6 videos a month that by the time the video is over they hadn't really explained the focus topic of their videos and it turns out to be more of a questioner for the viewers thoughts on the subject matter with no important links or underlying text that add to thoughts or discussions for their topic just run of the mill black and white dialogue from the books that give clear information that anyone who's read the books picked up the info and no thought or attention to detail was required on the you tubers behalf to make the video and you take nothing new out of it aside from having wasted 15 minutes because their video titles mislead you into at least feeling like there could be something of interest to think about afterward whether it's a shared opinion or not I like getting a look somehow i doubt Tywin and Hodor are related so closely.. I mean ok so physical descriptions kinda match and the knitting could in fact be a very important clue as to Nan's origin.. but i think it's almost half again as likely that Old Nan is just that.. herself.. I mean i won't put it past George to make it so in writing.. But i think it makes the world of a song of ice and fire a little too small world-ish.. it's like if you saw Darth vader show up in every starwars side story ever.... (ok bad example as they're actually pretty much doing that but still it's a good point) Personally and until we get anything more concrete on the issue I'm just going to assume that she was a Hill Clansman who traveled south of the wall in some kind of symbolic gesture to reaffirm the loyalty of the hill clans to house stark. It would definitely explain why she seems so knowledgeable about the long night (as the stories of those north of the wall where probably preserved far better then everyone else) and you can even explain her knowledge of things farther south as just being a sign that she was well traveled while being in service to the starks. This approach to old nan would sit with me far better then any version that implies that the lady of one of the most important houses in westeros and simply moved to another of the most important houses and remained there for SEVERAL DECADES without being found out... i mean yeah after the first 20 years it gets easier and you can even let people who knew you only as a child see you without being identified but still point remains. Also with the approach that Old Nan is simply old nan you don't have to say that Dunk didn't father her children either. It could just be explained as him being attracted to short women.

we just think that a few people from the past who are all involved in the same conspiracy faked their deaths...Old Nan is a separate issue, but she really intrigued us from the start because she is right every time, whereas everyone else is wrong 3/4 of the time, and when we looked a little deeper, with Bran's vision of a tiny girl kissing a knight the size of Hodor, and we know that Dunk and Egg are heading to Winterfell at least once in their future and Hodor obviously didn't get his size from Old Nan, nor to we see anyone else running around the North that's over 7 feet tall, plus all the things we talked about in this video, we stopped being able to see how it could be anyone other than Rohanne...tiny, right age, loved Dunk, disappeared right after having a child (making her a perfect wetnurse), and is smart as heck...Tansy to Tall doesn't work because she's like 6+ feet tall

Great job digging up all this history, and good accurate history on Rohanne. Intriguing theory you conjecture. The part that needs strengthening is the rough timeframe leap from her Casterly Rock disappearance to WinterFell. I'm looking for possible connections in her WinterFell stories and personal description. I can't recall anything in her descriptions besides what you mention regarding her stature. Nan makes mention of her sons (could be Lannisters) and daughters which she did not have with Gerold. We don't have any history of her four Lannister sons to know if they died in war. No mention of daughters while Rohanne was with any of her husbands. I know you'd suggest they were Dunks, but we don't know that Dunk made it to WinterFell. They started up there from The Reach at the end of 'The Sworn Sword', but in 'The Mystery Knight' they were at Whitewalls for the thwart of second Blackfyre rebellion. They are headed in the right direction, and they have about 5 years to get up there as R spends at least a years with Eustice and at least four more with Gerold before she disappears. Maybe we'll find out for sure if GRRM gets around to writing more Dunk and Egg books. I like what you're suggesting, and it would be fun if it were true.

Her sons were Tywin Lannister's father and his brothers...the sons that died in Robert's rebellion weren't Lannisters, and her grandson that died storming the walls at Pyke wouldn't be either because Bran knows about him...the prologue-like ending to the Trilogy lists several places that Dunk and Egg will have adventures, and the North is one of them, but it is not clear what order they end up going to those places...they never seem to end up where they plan to go on the first shot...not without getting detoured and end up having an adventure in a completely random place or two first

I hope you don't mind the discussion as I would like to fill in the Casterly Rock -> WinterFell gap to give the theory more solid ground. Good points, but sadly, I think these facts may weaken the theory a bit. Nan refers to daughters (at least two), sons (at least two ) and Walder that makes five plus Gerold's four for a total of at least nine. It's not impossible, but it would hard work for a small, young woman who bore a weak first son who passed in three days. Maybe that's why Bran notes all her hair is gone. In her stories regarding her children, Nan never mentions the Lannister sons. If she is Rohanne, is she hiding her history by not mentioning the Lannister four or has she rejected those four as her own due to horrible experience with Gerold? You'd think she would be proud of all the children she carried, and want to include them in her stories in some way. As for Dunk and Egg, they are trending North. Dunk admits to Septon Sefton that he was in Dorne, he's now in The Reach, and in the next book, he's in the Riverlands. D&E are trending in a Northerly direction where they may end up in WinterFell on day which is in the far North. If I remember correctly, Dunk does make it to The Wall when they drop off BloodRaven who took The Black after which he became the Three Eyed Raven. Thanks for your video and the discussion.

+Thom Tisher Why would a woman that ran away from Casterly Rock tell children, who would be the least likely group of people to keep it a secret? She tells the children stories about the family she had at Winterfell which is common knowledge. Walter/Hodor is her great-grandson. My great grandmother was 5 feet tall and 100 lbs and she had 14 kids that grew to adulthood. We don't know where they go after Whitewalls. They talked about going to the wall but we have no idea if they did. The epilogue-ish bit at the end mentions the free cities, the wall and a few other places where Dunk and Egg have adventures but doesn't specify the order in which they go to them

think so! she is like 105-110 years old (depending on which time reference you use, there a couple that are contradicting), but yes GRRM confirmed that she is still alive but a captive at the Dreadfort. The Order of the Green Hand. also he drew inspiration from the leaders and other notable people. one such person elizabeth tudor who is quite fascinating. as well as her mother and father. and some scottish figures as well. some of the book reminds me of old celtic myths as well.

The Order of the Green Hand oh yes the world is so much older than we are told. somehow George RR Martin has captured the magic of history that defies time all together. I love Toilken but George RR martin has conceived an even greater time. i love history i loves seeing how real people have the events they live through and the people they interact with Martin has captured that!

The Order of the Green Hand. the many faced god frightens and fascinates me. The idea of becoming no one is amazing and aryia is my main favorite character. the hound is awesome to. tyrion brieanne basically i have a huge list. i love the way these characters are complicated.
