A bit of a correction and a funny story: The "Playstation PDA" Is actually called the Pocketstation. If you look at the new trailer for the "Legend of Mana" HD Remaster. You will see a quick shot of "Ring Ring Land" This was a Pockestation game you could play that was tied to your save data on Legend of Mana on your PS1. Now that HD Remaster will be available on Switch so your old handheld Pockestation game is coming home 😊

Many fond memories of playing Wild 9 on the PS1, you had a energy whip which you used to grab enemies and then bash them on the ground to kill them , puzzled how that relates to pouring salt on a snail, but nonetheless a fun enough game - it also was a game that had audio tracks on the CD. I tend to think E3 is a digital event for 99% of people anyway, so won't be much difference to me, I don't imagine I'll ever get to attend an E3 - hell I probably wouldn't want to.

I love all game genres. I use to be a try hard in CoD since CoD4 with BLOPS2 being my fav. I'll say this... skill based matchmaking has absolutely destroyed competitive fps/CoD for me. I don't have the will or the time to play competitive shooters EVERYDAY anymore to keep the skill up to compete. Single player experiences though probably wouldn't become that difficult with a skill base system. But still, I'd rather be in control. Beating a game on normal them pumping up the difficulty can be its own reason to keep playing. Like Doom Eternal for example. Idk... id rather be in control of my single player difficulty to cater to my personal experience. We out here :p

When systems started to have hard drives or some sort of on system save memory for digital games (since PS3/360/Wii in 2005), I have never understood why companies have not made their e3 demos available for consumers. We have the means to download and play directly with minimal cost, and since the demos are already created, it is not like the demos would take more work to create. I think having an "e3 from home" would be ideal.

I think EA is referring to the overall player base when they look at how much people are playing. I don’t think it’s going to change on the individual level. For instance, let’s say only 30% of people finished Fallen Order because it was too hard, they would make the game easier overall not just for those players that couldn’t beat a boss

Downfall of E3 is the bigger companies know they can do their own live streams to have full control pretty much of their stuff. At the same time they know both fans and gamers alike will more then still flock to watch their live streams. If anything E3 should try to court more smaller companies "indies" developers and be more favorable towards them. Cause obviously you have Nintendo and Xbox still helping out the support for E3 like how "anchor stores" are to malls.
@USMCbrantley3 жыл бұрын
I don't think it makes it easier. I think it will help the AI know what "skill level" you are and then adjust accordingly. Now I can't get behind the wording of getting you to play longer but I can get behind it if this technology helps you become a better gamer overall.
@ryankelly91673 жыл бұрын
I think it’s a bad idea. What is the point of playing a game and getting better to beat higher difficulty levels if I have a system that constantly adjusts to how good or bad I am at a certain game? It’s a good feeling to know you beat “hard” and even “normal” in some games and you won’t get that same satisfaction with a dynamic difficulty system. Maybe for an “easy” mode this would be acceptable but please don’t mess up my “normal” and above difficulty levels and the endorphins released when completing them.

I've nothing against adaptive difficulty. However, this won't affect me because I don't care for anything EA makes, and even if I did I would likely not purchase the game, because EA! As far 'making me play for longer'... I adopted this attitude a long time ago. For example, single player only, campaign, games are near worthless to me as they don't last long enough. For games I do play I always play on the hardest difficulty for a few reasons; first to make them last longer, games are always more atmospheric when they're not simplistically easy, and importantly because the gaming industry is so atrocious at AI, a game on its hardest difficulty is (kind of) as close as the industry can get to making a game 'realistic'. This only applies to shooting and racing games. Personally I want the industry to stop p***ing about making games look pretty and concentrate on AI, physics, game mechanics, gameplay loop and animation! The problem though with the hardest difficulty is because the industry is generally so incapable of making decent AI it takes the dumbest route by reducing your 'health', increasing that of the AI, and/or reducing the effectiveness of your weapons, and usually making the AI ridiculously accurate in its aim. Anyway, no one will read this, but I'll end on a positive note; excellent show as always (...watched on the website, as usual, as I refuse to be forced to watch adverts on KZbin every few minutes!!!).

The thing that really pisses me off about this patent and the direction gaming is heading : they are treating their consumers as the product. Are you playing the game or is the game playing you? This is the problem with the whole thing and It really pisses me off ... If they spent a FRACTION of the money they spend on R&D for all this data collection bullshit and instead put that money into (I dunno, maybe ACTUALLY MAKING THE GAMES GOOD and FUN?! Is that too much to ask? Instead YOU are the product and they will sell your info or use it to no end. At least make all the games free if that is going to be the case. Making a gaming business model that thrives off of trying to parasitically milk the gamers sense of addictive personality by how much they compulsively grind in a bad game mechanic is just terrible and I think it should be considered a crime. Nothing is more valueable then your time and the way these companies handle our info sickens me beyond belief. It's been a long time since I've ever wrote an 'old man yells at cloud' rant such as this, but it just had to be said. As gamers I can't believe we even put up with this shit. I do not want games to dictate how easy or hard it should be. I pick my setting. If it is too easy. I change my setting. Too hard. I change my setting. But if I am happy and EAs new system says, "Yeah. He is doing too good and hasn't died" only to have 5 impossibly large bosses pop out that keeps me frustrated.
