Agreed, this is the type of work we can do on a daily basis and enjoy. To translate is to want to discover the meaning of the words that can then, upon review, be memorized as the meaning given by the context of the sentence, instead of as an English definition.

I think doing weekly Vocab videos made in 1 day is both better overall for the channel, but also way better for mental. It's really mentally great for creatives to have projects that block 1 day, where you can just focus in that time period. Super good idea I feel.
@GameGengoАй бұрын
Yeah for sure! It took about 3 days total for the edit, but definitely a lot easier than 2 weeks - 1 month like other videos! haha I think trying to hit a weekly release as often as I can will be best for everyone :)

I totally agree. There was no dip in quality and the video is still an hour long! Definitely think this new workflow is a better idea.

I've watched literally every single one of these 40 episodes over the last year. Amazing teacher and amazing supplement for anyone's self-study. Although I play through games on my own as well, this series has really helped tie together many grammar points that I never understood when I came across them on my own naturally as well as many, many dialects I never understood how to find definitions on my own. I feel I've gained a better grasp on grammar than I ever have over this last year and hope to pass the JLPT N2 this December! Thanks for the content, your passion for the language shows immensely through your videos!

Anyways thanks so much Matt hopefully I can get more of that country speak down and eventually I swear ill understand keigo.

You are an amazing teacher. I'm still noob, so a bit too fast for my ability to listen, but think I'll ketchup (lol)😂 From childhood I have a lot of hearing damage. My parents heavy smokers, so tons of ear infections. I'd get a hearing aid, but it is all a volume issue, so told the damage I have it wouldn't resolve that. So take my critique with a grain of salt. This upcoming Spring Level 5 is releasing a new Fantasy Life. It might be a good game to try to drag plebs like me to being able to pretend we are making progress in our learning:) Thank you for the effort. I hope you are top tier successful in your channel.

One thing I'd be truly grateful to have cleared up: In "そうだったゾ", why is the last letter ゾ instead of ぞ ? It's not just in this example but you see this very often, where one can see little reason for katakana usage. It's not a foreign word, not an onomatopoeia, etc. I honestly don't see why normal speech shouldn't be written in hiragana unless a special katakana function is necessary. Does the katakana serve any purpose here? What difference would it make if it were "そうだったぞ" ? Thank you in advance!
