A lot of people are mentioning that they can play KZbin videos at 60fps on their phone. So I checked out the KZbin app on my phone and yes indeedy do, 60fps for mobile is finally supported. And it looks great. In fact I'd say that the KZbin app is the best way to watch our show, be it on mobile, PlayStation 3 or 4, etc. The KZbin app is pretty good for viewing. I wish web browsers ran at a consistent frame rate but they seem to drop frames a lot, even Chrome. And yes, my computer is powerful enough... it's a 486 not a 386 ffs.

I love F-Zero GX. And getting it is one of those special memories for me. I got it on launch day when I was in highschool. I didn't want to risk it being sold out, so I went to pick it up during lunch break, but I ended up being late back since the game store was a good ways from my school. My math teacher asked if I was late because I went out for lunch or something. I just told him the truth instead. He was pretty pissed off, but ehhh who needs math? I got F-Zero! what a glorious memory. Also playing AX in arcades and still having the memory card data for it.

Speaking of real-time shadows on N64, NeverSoft's Spider-Man on N64 has actual real-time shadows that the other ports of that game don't have, and that N64 port was made by Edge of Reality, the team who did the N64 ports of Tony Hawk's Pro Skaters 1-3 originally developed by NeverSoft.

Here're some suggestions to have a look at and reasons why: For the BBC Micro Computer: Elite - 3D wireframe graphics on 8bit system and no loading between star systems. Exile - Digitised voices on 8bit system, great sprite animations and no area loading zones. For the Sega Mega Drive: Micro Machines 2 - It had an 8 player mode with 4 controllers. Virtual Racing - Because it plays better than the Saturn version, which should've been arcade perfect. For the Sega Mega CD: Silpheed - Pseudo-3D backgrounds. Yumimi Mix - Japan only, but it had full screen cut scenes that almost look like FMV but are entirely done with sprites (the Saturn version is only slightly superior) For the Sega Saturn: Burning Rangers - Destruction of 3D environments, real time transparency effects and a voice over radio system navigation system, albeit buggy. Panzer Dragoon Zwei - Out did everything the first one did, plus the water effect over the fish boss. For the Dreamcast: Phantasy Star Online - No one had done an online console that worked before (and Chu Chu Rocket dropped the ball with the net-code). Shenmue - Absolutely huge game and 100% voice acted. For the PS2: GTA3 & San Andreas - A lot of people thought this style of game couldn't be done (at least from what I remember at the time). Life Line (Operator's Side on Japan) - Voice control in 2003, although it sucked. On almost every system in early 90's Another World (Out of This World in USA) and Flashback - Cinematic cut scenes!

After the Soundtrack episode I've now got a full on love for the Lords of Thunder soundtrack. Also fun fact, F-Zero GX and AX are technically the same game, seeing as AX ran off a modified SEGA hardware known as the Triforce hardware. On the F-Zero GX disc, there is an Action Replay code you can enter to access the arcade port, right from your Gamecube disc! (Hence why you can insert your memory card in the machine and you can access the console only tracks!)

Thankfully there's a full translation of it available on GameFaqs too I actually own the game and have played through it fully using the translation, each level is rather complex including level 2 involving the player needing to traverse the tank field level to find tunnel entrances and fly through the 3d tunnel scenes in order to get to a "bomb room" and disable it. Speaking of those tunnel scenes, this games music used for the tunnel scene has appeared in Smash bros for decades, its even in Smash Ultimate. Such an amazing game and soundtrack

Joe you forgot to mention that the SNES version of Toy Story runs in lower resolution than the Genesis one, 256x224 vs 320x224 for the Genesis meaning the Genesis version has +25% screen space (which helps for gameplay) and keeps a proper aspect ratio once displayed on TV! Another cool thing is that the Genesis version uses a tracker method for the title and credits themes, it's Amiga files played through the DAC.

It was more impressively technically considering the 360 is weaker and even older than the PS3, but they still pulled it off and made it probably the best looking game on the system... When I think of the game that pushed a console to its limits and beyond near the end of the console's lifespan, the first and best example I think of is the 360 version of GTA V. It's insane that they managed to get it looking/running that well on something even older than a PS3, and even weaker. But nope, they don't even mention it, lol. Sony bias, anyone?

Battletoads is one of those games that didn't really age well because of epectations. Back in the NES days, you weren't expected to beat every game you had. In fact, it wasn't common to get to the end of a game. It's not like now where you just play through a game to the end. Back then, you just had to keep practicing. I got super good at Turbo Tunnel on Battletoads because I lost at it hundreds of times before I finally got through the entire thing. So many game overs, so many going through the same two levels, trying to preserve every life you possibly could. But back then, we didn't mind because games just weren't as long. You could beat a game straight through in just a few hours. The length came from challenge. This is why Battletoads will always be a classic to me.

I really like how some game developers pushed the nes to it's limited not only using the mmc3 chip for bankswitching but also doing tile updates on the fly for animated backgrounds on parts were it's needed depending were the main sprite is moving in order to fake multi layer scrolling backgrounds, paralax scrolling can also be done on the nes by deviding the single layer background into straps and move them individualy from eachother with the main sprite, this way,nes games can be really on par with early 16bit genesis games.

"Super Mario 3D world" on the Wii U pushes that system (4 players all controlling two characters at a time with up to 40 enemies on screen at 1080p 60fps without a single frame of slowdown) So does Xenoblade Chronicles X. Also id say "The Last of Us" and "Bioshock Infinite" on the PS3 are pretty impressive. "Conkers bad fur day" on the N64 is pretty good too.

I'd have to say that Rise of the Tomb Raider on the Xbox 360 is pretty impressive!
