Lets be honest were all nerds here otberwise we wouldnt fucking be here, besides whoever is looking at your videos for comedic reasons is on the wrong ficking side of youtube. Ethan Games Yeah, I love their dry-witted humor. That's what makes the show for me as well as their bantering at times. It's funny. Wish I could watch this one, though. Still don't have a good internet connection yet. One more week and they'll finally install it. The video is just buffering for me. T_T

About the McDonald's game: Treasure wouldn't exist if they hadn't developed that game. They initially lacked the financial resources to develop even a single game, so they developed Treasure Land Adventures to attain funding for their first original IP, Gunstar Heroes. The two games were made side-by-side, and Gunstar Heroes was finished/released 3 weeks sooner just so that they could call it their true debut title.
@packpock4369
@packpock4369 Жыл бұрын
Yes the McDonald's game launched them into the stratosphere. It's funny the team actually made Axelay working at Konami and left to start Treasure. So when you really think about it they were one of the first Indie teams to really become a successful franchise.

Game Sack Dave [about Muramasa] "I only wish this game were on the PS3 as this game would look even better in HD". It's on Vita has a physical release that's only $20, and the Vita version of Muramasa is compatible with the Vita TV (PlayStation TV). There it runs in 720p widescreen and allows you to remap the controls to whatever you want. The Vita version also looks even better (doesn't have the weird anti alias effects AND it's also got a whole bunch of extra bonus content that was planned but not put into the Wii original. If you don't have one, you should consider buying a PlayStation TV for the many wonderful Vita games that make excellent retro style console experiences just like Muramasa.
@GameSack
@GameSack 9 жыл бұрын
Satoshi Matrix I talked about Muramasa, not Dave. But anyway yeah the PS TV does output a 720p signal, but all of the games are upscaled. PS Vita resolution is 960x544. Still though I imagine it does look better than the Wii version which is limited to 720x480.

Game Sack Sorry Joe! That was a careless mistake. I'll edit my comment. Yes, I'm aware games on the Vita TV are upscaled (I own one) but still......960x544 > 720x480 and 720p > 480p. And this all assumes you play with the Vita TV. Put it on an actual Vita and Muramasa is breathtakingly gorgeous.

Game Sack's humor has always been one of the best things about the show. If there isn't a joke to make, they don't force it. Lol saying Game Sack's humor is dry is missing the point. The entire shtick would appear to be local broadcast television. Episodes like this are fun catch-alls because there are always fun/interesting games that don't always fall under a specific theme/genre. Seeing Downhill Domination covered was timely because I had just spent some time with it, myself. It impressed me how smoothly the game ran, and it felt like an expansion of the Road Rash or Skitchin' ideas-- but with cool modifiers like changing weather conditions and faster speeds. I still do prefer Road Rash... but imagine if it was as well technically as Downhill Domination! Whoa. I still haven't beaten the original Mega Man. I should probably rectify that someday. I've really struggled when I've tried to play it; for me, the difficulty has always felt just a bit too high and it isn't long before I shut off the game & move to something else. I absolutely loved the ending here. Poor Joe. Thanks again for your hard work and for delivering another fun episode. You guys rule.

I never was able to beat Gargoyles Quest, in the middle of the game their was a mace and i just run in cycles until i give up. But their was a funny part of the game - my controls were broken back then and often the character walks right cause of it, without me pushing a button. If he runs against a wall, i just press left and he glitched through the wall. After that, the whole game brokes down. The levels were totally new designed, Enemys appear at points where noone was before ect. That was a lot of fun back then just to see what can happen.

Great to see some praise for Gargoyle's Quest, that was the first game I ever personally owned besides Tetris, I was 5 years old at the time. It was hard as shit and when that first boss comes up out of the water suddenly and the music changes I nearly shat my pants. I was so happy when I beat him but it took me years to actually finish the whole game, I usually got stuck on the wall eyes boss. And yeah please bring back evil faces on walls and trees for no reason. Old platformers always had cool grimacing faces on everything, I miss that.

The humour coach thing wasn't great though. Not funny at all. You don't need to try to be funny though. Your stuff is good because it's you guys talking about games you love that you don't hear about in other places. Trying to force humour in to that just because that's what all the popular KZbinrs do is a bad idea.

I once heard a story about Muramasa... I think the developer approached both Sony and Microsoft with Muramasa, but they turned it down because of the graphical style or something... then Nintendo picked them up and thus became a Wii exclusive, that until the Vita. I guess the closest it'll get to "HD" is playing the Vita version through a PlayStation TV. I have no idea how good that thing is for upscaling though. I wish the Wii U didn't have to enter "Wii Mode" to play Wii games.

Your 2 minute segment on Mega Man was far more informative, entertaining, respectful, and all around better than the nearly 8 minute video Chris "The Cut-rate Lamer" Bores-me-to-death put out recently. Also, that is so awesome that you got Bizzaro World Kramer to appear on your video, how the hell did you get him? Another triple A episode from the Sackers. PS: I would love to see a video that compiles all the funny bits at the end of each episode into one video.

You need to someday have the Angry Video Game Nerd guest star in one of your vids. Maybe for a list of bad games that are your guilty pleasures, and the Nerd could show snippets of episodes where he reviewed them.

I had to go intertube-fishing just to determine that there was no actual relation between Urban Trial Freestyle and the Trials series (Trials, Trials 2, Trials HD, Trials Evolution, Trials Fusion). You know, apart from it looking like basically the same game as those.

I thought Muramasa and Dragon's Crown had similar art styles! The company that made the two games also made Odin's Sphere on the PS2, which played very similarly to those games. It also had grossly proportioned characters as well, come to think of it. Whether that's good or bad is subjective.

Joe Redifer Love the show. This was a great episode. I wanted to give you a small recommendation: as a huge Souls fan, it's always exciting to see those games get play, and it's awesome you enjoyed Demon's Souls. As far as it having no story, though, there I have to disagree. While nowhere near as in depth as Dark Souls, Demon's Souls actually has a very interesting story to tell; it just tells it in a very non-conventional method, through the use of item descriptions and the way the levels are constructed. Very rarely will an NPC just lay out the story in big blocks of exposition. Instead you have to really search for it, which to me always added to the sense of exploration and discovery that makes me love these games. You really have to focus on the details all around you, and the game is built in a way that rewards you for doing it. Their creator, Hidetaka Miyazaki, is a master of this subtle type of storytelling, and he only gets better at it as the series progresses. If you're interested in diving into the story of Demon's Souls, I highly recommend checking out EpicNameBro or VaatiVidya's KZbin channels. Their Souls lore videos are top notch, and you'll be shocked at how much depth is actually in that game. Anyway, thanks to you and Dave for the great videos! Keep up the good work.

It was great to see such an eclectic variety of games - will probably play MM later :) I'm surprised. The addition of a humor coach plays off the running joke about the series' dry humor (which seems funny on paper), but this episode doesn't seem to acknowledge the charm I've come to appreciate with the series. I honestly don't think most fans have an actual problem with the humor (from what I've read in the comments at least), but this video seems to take the premise as though it needed to be fixed for real, not as part of a running gag, which baffled me. You've got to own it, OWN the nerd sauce. Own the idea that for the next 30 minutes a whole generation of thirty-year-olds get to become ten again... Hopefully, I'm not just speaking for myself.

Game Sack Dave Game Sack Oh, I know you guys aren't going to see this, BUT I FINALLY GOT TO PLAY SPLATTERHOUSE!! In Akihabara here, there's an arcade/game center with older game cabinets. I even FINALLY got to play the first Street Fighter and boy are those controls terrible. lol I still was fangirling, though. lol Anyway, my friend took me to that arcade and I saw Splatterhouse and remembered how much Dave was into the first one and how you guys were into it. I never played it as a kid (and I doubt it would've attracted me anyway as I would've been elementary-school aged then). I took out my 100 yen coins, sat down, and played it. lol It was fun and a nice stress reliever...hitting stuff! lol Sucks I got stuck on the first boss...maybe? lol I think it was a boss, but I couldn't figure out what to do and kept dying (and my friends were ready to go). I want to go back next weekend and play again. Seems moving from northern Japan to Tokyo wasn't such a bad idea after all. More gaming gems and opportunities, like how I just recently managed to find a copy of the original Legend of Zelda for the Famicom Disk system....not the cart re-release from like 1991. I was super happy! That aside, sucks I took a pay cut for this new job (but it's better for my mental health) and the cost of living is higher...but I have two roomates so that helps, and no car responsibilities anymore...

Tokyo is ok, but I'm used of northern Japan. I recently relocated to Tokyo back in late April, so still learning the area. I only have experience visiting. If you and Joe ever visit Tokyo, as gamers, you should definitely check out Akihabara. There's one shop down here called "Super Potato" that sells older games and gaming systems. There are many shops that sell old games. I even found PC Engine games...but I don't have a Turbo Graphix 16 system, but thanks to Gamesack I now know that "PC Engine" is the Japanese name. lol. Nakano Broadway is another area where you can find old things. I came across the Game & Watch series there.
