The MK7 remakes weren't that good, though. Mushroom Gorge took out the starting shortcut, Koopa Cape took out the challenge in the underwater section, Maple Treeway would simply work better in MK8 with antigravity, and Coconut Mall didn't really work with the physics.

Let me take a shot at it. The color change from blue to orange in previous games symbolized a change from impatience to excitement as you blasted off. This is especially prevalent in DS, where if you boost before getting that succulent orange indicator, you get nothing. You loose. In Wii, the developers changed the mechanic so that you could still boost if you only had a blue flame, and now blue represented peace and selflessness, instead of recklessly charging your boost for too long. In 8, orange was buffed up. It symbolized living dangerously, and rewarded those who did so with a nice first place position. Now, in Deluxe, they've introduced purple, symbolizing pure evil and anarchy. You've gotten too greedy, you don't care about that wall, or your poor poor Kart, you just want to go fast. You'll take the risks, make the mistakes, and get all of the boost power. You no longer feel for yourself, you don't care what happens next, all you want is more. More boost, more speed, more winning, more coins, *more luxury, more gold, more happiness, MORE EVERYTHING.* And it all starts with purple.

didn't they say "you can now brake while you drift" that's helpful in 200cc so that's probably what the purple spark indicated. as in you can Break without ending your drift

Agustin Perez They just changed the time setting from night time, to daytime. They changed a fair amount of the time settings in the retro tracks, in Mario Kart 8. Wii Moo Meadows, N64 Toad's Turnpike, GCN Sherbet Land, DS Wario Stadium, and 3DS Neo Bowser City, immediately come to mind.

For Renegade Roundup: I believe that there are indeed multiple jail cells located around the map, so the "cops" can go to the nearest one to drop off their renegade. I also think that it will take a little bit for either the jail cell, the button, or both, to reappear after the button is pressed, just so the renegades can't spam the buttons.

I think the Wuhu Island track is a reskin of MK7's Maka Wuhu battle track. Same ramps, similar layout. The few things that are different is the center being a garden(MK7 has it as a fountain) and the time being day instead of night.

I think since when you get the purple sparks there are no blue ones before it, it is probably either, as you said, exclusive to the 200cc mode or you have to do something to get the purple ones instead of the blue ones like pressing a button at a certain time. Some FPS do stuff like that with reloading to where you either have normal reloading or when you press a button at the right time it does fast reloading... That's what I imagine this could be.
