Any complaints or questions about him or his scores were ignored or dismissed. What really changed things is when Twin Galaxies accepted a dispute resolution process for scores where the truth couldn't be covered up easily anymore. But the thing that really made it possible to finally go after Billy Mitchell was his close friend (and former TG official) Todd Rogers finally being exposed as a total fraud. After Todd Rogers had been proved to be a cheat, they just couldn't ignore all the old Twin Galxies scandals anymore.

"The King of Kong" is a great film which essentially drives home this exact point: villains like Billy Mitchell frequently, unfortunately, thrive in this world while legitimately talented people, like Steve Weibe, inevitably struggle. This video references that film a few times. It's hard to tell if Karl Jobst is implicating it in Mitchell's lies, judging from some of his statements here. If so, I would strongly disagree. It's obvious (I feel) the filmmakers behind "The King of Kong" believe Mitchell is a total twat and were in no way in league with him. Great film though. Check it out if you haven't seen it.

Yeah thats just simply not true. You realize nothing in this video has been proven and is just opinion with the voice over and clips edited to fit the narrative right? He has made perfect scores on Pac-Man several times in front of live crowds. The only debate is if he was the first or not. In Donkey Kong a 5th place finish in the world isn't close enough to think he couldn't have a break out game after several years of trying for a high score? C'mon man. Does he have to get within a point live to make it seem possible? I'd say anyone who can make it to the kill screen has a legitimate shot and he can do that blind folded. Don't let someones video supporting a narrative convince you he is not good enough. A liar? A cheater? I don't know maybe I don't know him. But good enough to be believable? Absolutely.
